The vintage cottage has been updated with wonderful -ALL NEW- and light upscale beach decor complete with teal and white checker board flooring. The rear yard boasts a free standing screened with tin roof, jetted, and heated (winter) spa/pool, grand Live Oaks and has expansive marsh/ tidal creek views. For those young at heart there is a 14x10 cabana with a day bed, bead board and huge picture glass window perfect for relaxing with that hard-to-make-time-for beach novel.
Located across the street from the ocean and 4 houses from a beach access WHILE sitting on a tidal creek with wonderful views, this is a PRIME LOCATION for your vacation. The lot is spacious and boasts numerous Live Oaks for shade and low country atmosphere. You may kayak from the property (excluding low tide) to nearby Morris Island or simply explore the waterways. Take a wonderful stroll from the cottage to the end of the island. You may view the Morris Island Lighthouse, The Charleston Harbor, and even the Sullivan's Island Lighthouse in the distance. Simply follow the beach home.
The bungalow has an open living room with a queen sleeper sofa and an eat-in kitchen which will seat 6. The kitchen has stainless steel appliances including new gas range. The first bedroom boasts a queen bed, the second has a set of twins. It is approximately 850 square feet. The spa pool is a small pool perfect for cooling off on a hot summer day or relaxing with a drink. It is a round pool, 8' 10" in diameter with seating and is just under 4 foot deep. The spa is heated during the winter.

My husband, Ulf, moved to America from Wiesbaden, Germany at 16 to play tennis. After studying under Nick Bollettieri and later graduating from Ohio State University, he worked in construction for Homewood Homes as president of one of their subsidiary companies. He moved to Folly Beach in 2000 and works as a real estate agent. Ulf and I met while working for the same company (I have 13 years experience in Vacation Rentals). I'm a native of NW Georgia who graduated from the College of Charleston. We have two sons, Max and Buzz. Plus our wonderful dog, Jack.
As long time residents of Folly Beach and the Charleston area, we feel there's no better place on earth! Countless amenities, activities for all ages, and top of the line restaurants and nightlife. In addition, you'll find an unsurpassed landscape which offers a wealth of outdoor activities and gorgeous scenery.

Why the Owner Chose Turtle Bay
We purchased this home due to it's unique lot- It is second row, 4 houses down from the beach access and sits on a tidal creek with beautiful views. The home had good bones- small but 'old beach' which reminded me vacations as a child. The lot is deeper than most on the far eastern end of the island which allowed us permitting for a 6 bedroom home. Once the home is built, the views of the Morris Island Lighthouse, Charleston Harbor and ocean would be fantastic. With the current economic situation, we have now chosen to renovate. Something about the sunny yellow and teal blue shutters makes me smile. There's nothing like the coast and the salt air!
The Unique Benefits of this Townhome
Step Back in Time and Steps to the Beach is a simple beach cottage. It's not for someone interested in a large, new home with all the bells and whistles. It is for an individual, couple or small family interested in a beach getaway. The location near the end of the island lends itself to an 'away from it all' feeling. You may walk to the park at the end of the island and continue back on the beach to the cottage or turn left at the end of the park and wind around the backside of the island.
Relax. Enjoy. Get outside. It's a bird watchers paradise. Crabbers delight. And a good spot for kayakers who follow the tides (there is ample water to make a trip and back as long as you make arrangements to return prior to low tide).
We have set the cottage up beautifully with new, upscale furnishings and a large plasma TV. The cabana in back is small and quaint. Terrific for changing after showering in the outdoor shower or for relaxing with a book. The spa pool is a welcome spot after a day in the hot sun and has a screened enclosure to shelter you in the rain or to protect you from pesky bugs. Sit in the tub and enjoy the view. On a clear day, you can see all the way to the Ravenel / Cooper River Bridge!
