This spacious, bright and elegant beach home boasts a low bank waterfront location, with sweeping views of the magnificent San Juan Islands. This home is stunning!
For seafood lovers, you need only to go down the beach to take advantage of the ability to buy tonight's dinner, freshly caught by local fishermen. Seafood caught just off the waterfront by the traditional Reefnetter fishermen, hence the name we selected for Reefnetter II. Relax on the front deck with your binoculars in the morning and watch the seals and fisherman fish while eagles fly overhead.
After dinner, enjoy the Reefnetter II private deck and boardwalk in the back, sheltered from the ocean breeze with a view of the estuary and all its abundant wildlife. But if its too chilly then just curl up by the stone fireplace with a glass of a Pacific Northwest wine.

The house is great! Truly looks like a beach house with the interior decorations and all. What made it more wonderful are the picnic tables in front of the house, the pit for the bonfire, and best of all the beach across the house! Mark was very accommodating to our needs and answering our questions. The island people are very friendly as well. Thank you for the hospitality and for being so nice. This vacation is perfect for family and friends getaways- to be away from the city for a change. I would recommend this to people. Thank u again.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We stayed for 4 days and had a wonderful time. We spent many relaxing hours walking the beach and the sea glass hunting was great. Had a lot of fun watching the giant otters eating fish on the rocks right out front. The house is beautiful and sitting by the fireplace in the evening, watching the sunset, is so cozy. We will be recommending this house to all our friends! Best of all, the people on the island are super friendly. We'll be back for sure! Thanks Mark!Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

The Reefnetter is the BEST! We spent New Years Eve Weekend there (5 adults and the family dog). The weather was fabulous, the house was amazing. We could not have asked for a more relaxing location to ring in the new year!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 3/3

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2006
About the owner: Our family moved to Lummi Island in 2003. We grew up in the Bellingham area and had always wanted to live on the Island and be part of a small community. With 3 children out of the home and another near we decided it was time. Mark still commutes to Bellingham daily to run a small mortgage company and Lynn handles the home and our youngest daughter singing career.
Why the Owner Chose Lummi Island:
We purchased our first vacation rental in 2005. A year later we sold that property and purchased another just two houses down from ours on the beach. We wanted a place close so family could visit and we could keep a watchful eye over the property
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Lummi Island is mostly a residential Island. We have one convenience store, two small restaurants, two churches, a Grange hall and an elementary school. The Island is home to many artists who have events throughout the year and the farmers market runs during the summer. In May the Orca whales frequent the island before moving further out to San Juan Island. Eagles , otters, deer and many other animals are common. Fishing and crabbing seasons attract many people but it is mainly just the beauty and peacefulness of the island that attracts most. Biking, hiking, boating and kyaking are common activities. The Reefnetter II is a beautiful home located at the site of the reefnet fishing fleet on Legoe Bay. It is the oldest commercial fishing operation in the United States and is now only 5-6 boats which fish from July - Sept. The home is uniquely located with the ocean in front and a large pond in back. You can enjoy the saltwater from the front deck and if the wind picks up move to the back deck and watch the birds, muskrats and otters that frequent the pond.
