Cozy Chipmunk Hill cottage is enclosed by huge rhododendrons, ensuring your privacy. A covered deck, with a charcoal grill and perfect for dining, opens to the well-equipped kitchen. The comfortable sunroom, warmed by a gas-log stove, overlooks a quiet meadow and Grandfather Mountain. Entertainment options include cable TV, VCR/DVD/CD players, and Internet access.

The master bedroom has a queensize bed, with a spacious bathroom offering a Jacuzzi whirlpool bathtub, washer/dryer, and access to a sunny deck. A cozy second bedroom with a trundle bed (two twins) adjoins a compact full bathroom. There is a queen-size sofabed in the sunroom.

The 3800+ altitude ensures SPRING WILDFLOWERS, COOL SUMMERS, and SPECTACULAR FALL COLOR. Gas and baseboard heaters provide WINTER WARMTH as you rest from hiking or skiing and watch the snowflakes drift by. Snacks, books, games, and visitors' information await your arrival. All bed and bath linens, and paper products, are provided.

Beautiful Land Harbor resort is in the midst of all the attractions of the Blue Ridge Parkway and North Carolina High Country. It is ten minutes from the unique ecosphere of Grandfather Mountain, with its mile-high bridge, trails, and nature center open year-round. Linville Falls, Linville Gorge, and Linville Caverns are must-sees for hikers and nature lovers. Picturesque mountain towns nearby offer great food, shopping, festivals, museums, medical care, and lots of atmosphere.

You will enjoy Land Harbor's heated outdoor swimming pool, tennis courts, 18-hole golf course, and trout-stocked lake and river. There are miles of pathways and winding roads for walking or biking. During winters LLH is very accessible from Highway 221, and the resort's maintenace crew keeps roads scraped. Land Harbor also has an onsite security service.

4 SKI RESORTS within 20 miles offer downhill skiing, tubing, sledding, snowboarding, and ice skating. 5 GOLF COURSES are within 20-minute drives. We are just five minutes from milepost 310 of the Blue Ridge Parkway. Blowing Rock, Boone, Banner Elk, Beech Mountain and Spruce Pine are 10-30 minutes away. In one hour, you can be at the Biltmore House in Asheville, then explore that charming small city.
