My experience here has been more than wonderful. This home is very comfortable, with spacious rooms, lots of light and many amenities. The view is spectacular and renews the spirit. I have stayed at several places on Whidbey Island and none compares with this home. A perfect site for rest and relaxation!

We stayed here in April/May of 09 (cant remember our exact arrival day) for 1 week. The place was perfect for our 3 person family. We could watch the ferries from the living room and deck, walk to the beach, and all the neighbors were quite friendly. Everything you need is close by and one day we even just walked on to the ferry, took it across to Mukilteo and had lunch on the other side just for fun. Hong was very prompt in returning emails or phone calls and even sent us a thank you email afterwards for cleaning the house. We would absolutely stay there again.

Wonderful peaceful retreat

The photos are good, but the house is better. The views are wonderful. Watching the ferry, especially at night, was a treat. The sun room was a special place for coffee in the morning, and to watch the sunsets from in the evening, if it was cool on the balcony. The small den has an open hallway into kitchen, but otherwise is fairly private, so it is very workable for one person. Good location for exploring Whidbey Island, and as long as you're prepared for the ferry fees, walk on and eat at Ivar's - but be sure to go past the take-out and little place to the larger restuarant entrance. Right on water. Owner was very helpful, and easy to work with. Everything you could want is there at the house, including many items not always provided - many thoughtful, small touches which added up - made a real difference. The second morning the toaster didn't pop up automatically, so we emailed - as we were heading out for the day, and had a response immediately. They care that you enjoy your stay. We would stay here again, and would recommend it to anyone. In fact, we have already done so. While some might not describe the house as "modern" or "upscale" - I doubt you could find better for the price range, and it was truly comfortable and welcoming.

I stayed here with my sisters and my mom, and we loved it! While not a really modern vacation house, it was spacious and comfortable, with lots of light. We were able to walk down to a sandy beach, and the view of the ferries and the shoreline was beautiful. Come here if you are looking for a place to relax!

This lovely home is truly a year-round wonderland of beauty. As you enter this Whidbey home, the first thing you will experience is a quiet peacefulness. A 180 degree view of the Puget Sound and Cascade Mountains will surround you due to the wall to wall mirror in the living room. It will take your breath away. My sister and I have enjoyed two weeks each summer here experiencing our own personal Spa. It is a perfect retreat for exercise (on the beach or the country roads), eating right, and relaxation which was exactly what we needed to destress. We'll be happy to share our plan with anyone who is interested in cleansing the body and the soul (and losing a pound a day in the meantime!). On the other hand, if you want to live it up, the world is your oyster, so to speak, on this lovely island. You can visit antique shops, eat the best ice cream cones, and dine at the most delicious restaurants if you drive just 10 to 20 minutes away. Whidbey Island is a treasure trove of delight and this retreat overlooking God's beauty is the home away from home you've been looking for. We look forward to our next adventure here, away from the hustle bustle of our busy lives. Thank you, Hong and Susan. You provide everything your guests could possibly need.

Week of relaxation Excellent location. Only downside is the charge for the ferry. 3 fares round trip was $25. Very spacious and well maintained residence with 1 TV in the living room and computer with DSL connection. Large windows and porch with floor to ceiling windows that have an excellent view of the sound and a great view of the sunrises. Beach is right down the road and is great for walking and collecting shells and rocks. Overall had a great week. The island has many small towns and shops, variety of foods. There is a grocery store appox. 2 miles down the road. Planning on trying it again next season. - Ron Lanterman, St Louis
