I rented the Yacht Harbor Beach Cottage for five days at Christmas. It was adorable, comfortable, very well equiped with a beautiful back yard and spa. The location is the best as are the beds. It was raining most of the time we were there, but it didn't matter with a great TV and comfy chairs and sofa for reading our books. Can't wait to rent again when it is sunny. Thanks so much. TutuRecommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway.

Lovely cottage-we really enjoyed our stay. I think you should get the BEST BED award. The mattresses were so comfortable. We stay in a lot of hotels & vacation homes & I can definitely vouch for the beds & furnishings are up to the standards of a 5 STAR HOTEL! It would have been nice, in the future, if we could have ordered basic groceries since our flight arrived so late, but were thankful there was some coffee grounds available for our 1st morning. #CoffeeAddict We wish you many blessings and the cottage was a blessing for our little get-a-way, -b.reidDid you find this review helpful? Beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean, cozy home full of charm, sophistication, character and serenity. Perfect in every way for a comfortable, and comforting happy Santa Cruz stay. I was here for two weeks and loved every minute! The owners are wonderful! I cannot say enough good about them. They are professional and totally available to answer all questions. They have thought of every detail. Garden and hot tub are so pretty and relaxing. Santa Cruz, where I went to college is vibrant, colorful and the coast is oh so gorgeous! Come, stay, you will be so glad you did. This location affords you the best of everything, close to downtown, Capitola and everywhere in this great California gem of a city!!!Owner response: Elizabeth, Thank you so very much for your kind comments. We truely enjoyed having you as a guest and are thrilled that you had such a wonderful trip! We suspect our paths will cross again and we look forward to it!!!

Our stay at the Yacht Harbor Beach Cottage was perfect! Our son, small dog and my husband and I enjoyed our stay to the fullest. We had the perfect weather, enjoyed the fabulous hot tub and privacy in the backyard and were really able to relax on our annual vacation. The house itself was clean and comfy and very cozy for our family. We would recommend this cottage to any small family or single couple. Thank you for the best vacation. We are returning next year! *****Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Our family of three stayed at the beach house for three nights in June. We had mixed feelings about our stay. The location and walkability to the beach and restaurants was a huge score. The backyard is a really lovely private oasis, thanks to the plantings and landscaping. The owners were also easy to communicate with and quick to respond. The negatives for us were that the house was very hot and stuffy with no fans or AC and very little cross ventilation because of the window situation. Because of this, the house had a strong and unpleasant pet odor that was difficult to escape. The beds were very hard and uncomfortable with a plastic feel from the bed cover. Overall, this beach cottage is in a great location and has a wonderful outdoor space. However, it is also more tattered and cluttered than what the photos lead you to believe.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, pet owners.

This was a lovely quite place that was in the heart of it all. My husband and I spent our first weekend away from our daughter. This was our anniversary weekend getaway. It was just what we needed. We were able to enjoy the crowds at the beaches and local attractions and come back to a quite and comfortable cottage. We even took NAPS!!! It was clean, stylish, private, and COMFORTABLE. The only two items I would say is the place does have WiFi but no instructions on how to get onto it. Second if you are wanting to nuggle down for the night and watch a movie bring your own. The TV is basic cable. But I am sure most folks wont be doing that. We will come back from sure.Owner response: Thank you so much for the kind comments and good suggestions. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay!! The WiFi should have come up without a password, but we will go ahead and leave instructions as to that in the cottage. Good idea!!! Enjoy and we look forward to your return!

We had the good fortune of spending three nights at the Yacht Harbor Beach Cottage. We walked to/from the beach and the boardwalk. We thoroughly enjoyed the very private and serene garden that is equipped with a hot tub that fit the four of us comfortably. Perhaps our kids sum it up best: "May 28, 2012: I had a fabulous time in the hot tub. Me and my sister enjoyed playing checkers. I really like the (bowl) of shells. I really liked the food you had. I cannot wait for when we come back. All is happy. Kyle (7 years old) Thank you for letting us stay in your cottage. Love, Quinn (4 years old)" Enjoy!!Did you find this review helpful? Our family of four and dog had a great getaway weekend at this lovely and perfectly located Santa Cruz cottage. We walked to the beach and cafes, watched movies and played games and just generally enjoyed ourselves. The property is comfortable and cozy with all you need for a great time. Wonderful cottage in a fantastic location! The outdoor space is one of my favorite parts that includes a hot tub, bbq grill, and space for our dog to run around. The accommodations were very clean and the owners were very helpful/kind with the rental process! Would definitely go back and enjoy a great weekend at the beach again!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

My wife and I and another couple shared this house for a short getaway in Santa Cruz recently. It was the perfect place for us to stay. The house is very inviting with its beautiful landscaping, hot tub and comfortable beds. It is about a five minute drive to the Boardwalk and a short cab ride to the downtown area where there are great restaurants and nightlife. All in all I would definitely recommend this house and would stay there again on my next trip to Santa Cruz.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Jason and Eileen Thank you so much for accommodating us this weekend. The Harbor Beach house provided just the reprieve we needed--enveloping us with peace and beauty. The thoughtfulness you put into creating a serene experience for your guests was apparent in each detail--and we found our spirits lifted the moment we approached (with the intoxicating scents of jasmine and lavender outside). We spent time at the beach, relaxing in the hot tub, dancing downtown--and even found time for a game of tennis at the local high school. A wonderful way to begin my 33rd year on the planet--and a special way to celebrate my birthday. Santa Cruz is one of those places that has drawn me in since I've been a little girl--and I imagine the next time I return, my first choice will be your harbor home. The cottage was warm and cozy for the four of us, plus 1 dog, even if the weather was a bit cool. Take out breakfasts from Gayles Bakery in Capitola, dinner at El Palomar downtown, dinner at Riva's on the pier, an afternoon at the beach, DVD's in the evenings, early morning reading on the coach in the backyard. All good! Thank you for making a lovely environment.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/3

I was born and raised in Santa Cruz so it's always like home. Great to visit friend and family as well as bring our kids for the beach and Boulder Creek. They liked Roaring Camp and the Boardwalk. We went to our favorite eats and Linda's Seabreeze, Zacherys, Mr. Touts Coffee House in Capitola, Gayles Bakery and even Carpos for the kids.Did you find this review helpful? Your cottage is so comfortable and perfect! Thank you. WE had a wonderful stay. The location is great - isolated and quiet yet close to the beach, restaurants and the mini market. We enjoyed picking berries at Swanton Farms about 20 min. north of Santa Cruz. I made a cobbler from some of the ollalaberries that was to die for! We went to the Beach Boardwalk Friday night free concert and had 1/2 price appetizers and drinks at the Crow's Nest on Wed. night. We found an excellent taqueria in Capitola next to the ice cream store right on the main drag. Your home is so welcoming and obviously very loved. Thanks for sharing.Did you find this review helpful? Thank you, Eileen, for another wonderful stay. This was our 2nd long Father's Day weekend here. Last year Fiona was 2 1/2 and Inas was pregnant with Rory, who is now 9 months old. We absolutely love this home. It's beautiful, comfortable and had every amenity. We made home made pizza, grilled cedar plank salmon and made burgers. We roasted smores, had ice cream sundaes and ate ollalieberry pie. Yum! The hot tub was a relaxing treat after days at the Boardwalk, berry picking at Swanton Farms and Twin Lakes Beach. We very much look forward to making this an annual family get-away. Thank again!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Our stay at the Beach Cottage was everything we hoped for to celebrate my daughter's graduation from UCSC. Our fist evening consisted of getting ready for the big day so we dined in and watched a movie. Saturday started with the graduation ceremony on campus then met up with family and friends at the cottage for a wonderful Backyard BBQ. It was a perfect celebration enjoyed by all. Sunday walk around the yacht club and lunch at Betty Burgers and tour around the town. Leisure naps in the afternoon with dinner and a movie to wind down the weekend. Our total experience was warm and comfortable all because of the "home like" cottage! We will definately return for our next vacation or quick get-away celebration.Did you find this review helpful? We loved this cottage, the location and especially the back yard. It was perfect for our family of 4. We found the Safeway off of Soquel and cooked many meals. We rode the beach train to Roaring Camp which the kids loved, spent a day at Twin Lake, did smores at sunset and visited Fandangos and Keke's market often. We did the Boardwalk and the Wharf and enjoyed dinner at Dolphins at the end of the Wharf. Gonnies gift shop had very unique gifts and hats. We all relaxed in the warm spa and BBQ'd some steaks. This was the perfect place for our 2 and 8 year olds. Ho and our dog Russell. Thank you Janelle and sis for dog sitting! Everything was great, can't wait to come back again.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Hi Eileen, I realize we were in such a rush when leaving this past Sunday I didn't have time to sign the guestbook. Just wanted you to know that everything was impeccable during our stay at the Yacht Harbor Beach Cottage. The house is welcoming, cozy and fully equipped. The outdoor space is perfect; it was so nice to sit outside and relax. We were fortunate and had great weather the entire weekend. The landscaping and decor are very, very pretty. My glamorous dog felt right at home. I think she's disappointed in our apartment now. I don't know how VRBO reviews work, but please feel free to post my comments or forward them if you like. First of all we loved coming into this sweet little cottage home, so clean and well decorated. The flowers on the dining table were a welcoming treat. The yard was beautiful-well maintained and in full bloom. Though it was raining at times, it cleared occassionally and awe enjoyed an outdoor dinner with our son who is attending UCSC with steaks off the BBQ grill. We went to the beach, the Boardwalk and rides, miniture golfed, ate out one time each day, shopped at the Capitola Mall and Pacific Avenue. We enjoyed the hot tub, played games, read in bed and the many TV's allowed our 2 girls to watch what they wanted when we wanted to watch something else. What a magical little house and neighborhood - Favorites of the house. The kitchen nook, the sumptious comfy beds, the gorgeous light that flows into the beautiful living room and of course the loveley hot tub. We had our eighty three year old grandmother with us and celebrated a wonderful Christmas with her and my brothers family who live here in Santa Cruz. It was just a perfect holiday. Thank you so much. We'd love to try it in the summer. Also Zoey our "wonder dog" loved both the front and back yards. Thanks again.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Fun things we did: Went to Twin Lakes Beach and saw 3 seals and 2 dolphins close to shore!! Went to the Boardwalk and scared our kids in the Haunted House. BBQ'd and Hot Tubbed everyday. Watched our 4 year old and 6 year old have a blast! Thank you. Comments from our onsite guest book.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

I enjoyed your beautiful cottage and especailly enjoyed soaking in the houot tub with all the evening fog. My grandmother said it was the best vacation they ever had, even thought they only stayed with me one night! Thank you. Comments from our onsite guest book.Did you find this review helpful? Right at home!We had the best time. Traveling with a toddler this will be the only way we travel now. We felt at home and had everything we needed. Oh and a Jacuzzi. Thank you for sharing this with us. Comments from our onsite guest book.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Santa Cruz is home to my wife and this place provided for the full Santa Cruz experience. It is a short, five minute walk from the beach, and a five minute drive from the boardwalk. It is also within walking distance of some of our favorite Santa Cruz eating places (Sea Breeze, The Creperie, etc.). Comments from our onsite guest book.Did you find this review helpful? Sweetest little slice of oasis EVER!!Thanks Jennell! Great recommendation for us and our older doggie who loved the fenced in backyard! hot tub was perfect for the cold, foggy mornings and the beach and backyard (we never wanted to leave!) was perfect for warm, sunny afternoons.
