My favorite place to go when I need a mountain fix! So much character! Last year I gave gift certificates to my daughter and her family for a week at Fair Haven as a Christmas gift. They had a GREAT time. I highly recommend this cabin. So much to do in the area, winter, spring, summer and of course the fall, with all those lovely colored leaves. Looking forward to our next trip.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, girls getaway.
Owner response: Love working on surprises for families!

Ignore this review, please. We don't want anyone to find out about Fairhaven so we can have it all to ourselves! Okay, I won't be so selfish :). It is all the pictures and description say and much more. They can't describe the feeling of welcome you have by the personal touches the owners have put inside and out. You know they are glad you are there and want you to enjoy it. You see something new every time you look around! There are places to read and relax upstairs and down. If that's not enough, you have deck after deck on which to rest and relax. It is a short drive to hiking and biking trails and many eateries are close by in Blue Ridge. The cabin is clean and well maintained and the owner is very friendly, responsive and helpful. You'll love this cabin. But forget I said that!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway.
Owner response: I promise these guests aren't kin!

Fairhaven cabin was just what we needed for a long, quiet weekend. The cabin is clean, cozy and very well equipped. Blue Ridge has much to see and do--we really enjoyed the trip to the swinging bridge.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children.
Owner response: Randy and his wife were wonderful guests to share our cabin with. I hope that they will return again in the future.

Another great vacation! Fair Haven has become like a second home to us. The location is private yet located in one of North Georgia's best locations for activities. We kayaked the Ocoee river, swam in the Blue Ridge Lake, and rode the open air train to the next town for dinner. Only a short trip on the lovely SR 60 to the Wolf Vineyard for lunch (a most do), which has become our favorite restaurant in the area. I could go on with all the activities there are to do in the area. However by far our favorite part of the trip was just hanging around the cabin. When I am there I feel as though time stands still. Coffee on the back deck, as the sunrises over the mountain peaks and humming birds at eye shot, is amazing! The private neighborhood walking trail is so peaceful and private. My husband still laughs at me because every time we left out to go to town, I would leave 15 minutes before him and walk down the mountain and he would drive down to pick me up. The stroll down the mountain is Utopian, like a picture painted by Norman Rockwell. And every evening is completed with a campfire in the out door fireplace,,,such a lovely extra!! Now that I am back home in Florida I am trying to figure out how to back to Fair Haven. Thank you owners for all the extras you have added to this little piece of heaven. We will return SOON!!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: We welcome you and your family back ANY time.

wasp infested hot tub which didn't have half of the jets working. no charcoal grill as stated and gas grill will burn anything you cook. upstairs plumbing leaks to downstairs living room and large ants in upstairs bathroom which I had several crawl on me in bed at night. downs stairs bathroom sink leaks and smells moldy. sent nice email to owner, never even acknowledged receipt other than deposit returned immediately.Owner response: I am sorry that this guest had an unpleasant experience. All issues that were brought to my attention have been or in the process of being corrected as far as I can working with nature and dealing with a cabin that is not lived in full time and located in the woods. I did not know about the wasps...as soon as I went up to clean I sprayed all around to take care of them. The downstairs bathroom has a stain on the floor that has been there since we bought the home 4 years ago. In that time we have had no leak. The leak upstairs was something that happened when a shower head was just replaced and we did not know that the pipe going to the fixture was split during the repair. No one wants a leak especially in a cabin that no one lives in full time. When I was cleaning the cabin getting ready for the guests I saw no ants. I believe they were after the water since it has been extremely dry. I sprayed inside the house. The charcoal grill is my fault there was an issue with it so I removed it. I simply forgot to update the listing. I have had no other complaints on the gas grill and I have used it myself with no issues. The hot tub jets not working is something I can not address fully...I know that there is a dial that you can turn inside the tub that redirects the flow. The cabin is in the woods and since no one lives there full time there are going to be somethings I have no control over. I am very sorry that they did not enjoy the time there. I try to keep our cabin the best we can so it can be enjoyed. Of all of the guests who have stayed there in the last four years this is my first bad review.

My wife and I spent three days at Fairhaven, as this cabin is called. We've rented several other cabins near Blue Ridge and never taken the time to post a review before now. The location of this cabin is wonderful, especially for those desiring privacy and/or seeking the outdoor activities that the Aska Road area is famous for: biking, hiking, fishing, etc. I could mountain bike directly from the cabin by following a trail pointed out by a friendly neighbor that had a nice loop and connecting trails to much tougher terrain. Less then 5 minutes away is the start of the Long Branch mountain bike loop (it's a great hiking trail, too) which connects with much harder routes also. The Stanley Church of Christ country church and cemetery at the beginning of the road leading to the cabin is wonderful place to explore. The cabin itself is exceptional well equipped for those who want to unwind -- just bring you food and you have all the kitchen essentials you'll ever need plus DVDs to watch, as well as a few books and CDs. The decks are wonderful. The king bed was very, very comfortable. The cabin has a few quirks, but what rental doesn't. Enjoy them as well as this wonderful location and the little things -- like the hummingbirds. The owner is also great to work with also. Several family emergencies delayed our initial planned visit and she remained wonderfully flexible through our constantly changing schedules.Recommended for: Romantic getaway.
Owner response: Bill and Evonne were the best guests ever. I am just so glad that they finally were able to come and stay at Fairhaven!

Great time at the cabin. Plenty of living needs are provided for so all we needed to bring were groceries & the basic travel gear. Great hot tub (we got to enjoy it while it was snowing) and the fireplace was perfect at warming the house on a freezing cold weekend. Perfect spot for a couple or family with grade school kids. The semi-private upstairs bathroom may be intimidating to those who aren't very familiar with eachother but we didn't have a problem with it, haha. Plenty to do nearby and we'd love to come back in the summer time.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway.

We stayed at Fairhaven Cabin in Blue Ridge, Georgia in December. The weather throughout the Southeast was rare. Our landlord was very accommodating and we appreciate her kindness. She was such a nice person. We give it a 10. It has everything you need. You have all the conveniences of home and the outdoors was beautiful. The neighbors were very nice as well. We highly recommend staying there. We give it four stars****Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
