Accommodations: Apartment, 1 Bedroom + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath (Sleeps 3)
Sophisticated "Bellina" apartment on a picturesque small street near Rome’s world-famous Spanish Steps. The Bellina Roma apartment has one bedroom that is connected to the living room by an open doorway (no door). The apartment has been completely remodeled with sleek new kitchen, bathroom, and high quality comfortable furniture.
Location: The apartment is in the sought-after Spanish Steps, Piazza del Popolo, Via del Corso area on a narrow street lined with low-rise apartment buildings dating from the 1800’s. Ground-floor businesses include a few fashion boutiques, a pizzeria, snack bar and small traditional grocery store. Elegant cafés, restaurants, antique dealers, designer shops are just minutes from your doorstep. Our Rome clients repeatedly ask for this neighborhood because it is so central and upscale. The Spagna metro (subway) station is a five-minute walk. Nearby Piazzale Flaminio has both a metro station and stops for multiple bus lines. The famed sites of Rome, including the Trevi Fountain, Piazza Navona, Pantheon, are a comfortable and interesting 15-to-20 minute walk.
Building: The small apartment building dating from the 1800’s has an elevator up six-steps from the entrance. Clay pots with colorful flowers mounted on the buildings add to the charm. The one-way, narrow street is cobblestone-paved and runs between Via del Corso and Via del Babuino. Two blocks away is Via Margutta, made famous in the movie "Roman Holiday" being where Cary Grant’s character lived.
The apartment is located on the second floor and features two large living room windows overlooking the street. The elevator is up a few steps but please not that it stops one floor up from the apartment so guest can either just walk up to the apartment a flight of steps & not take the elevator at all, or if they don't mind walking down a flight of steps you can take it to the floor above & walk down one flight of stairs to the apartment's front door.
Interior Description: The location and tasteful furnishings make this an ideal Rome apartment. The living room has two large windows accessorized with simple, flowing white curtains that reach the hardwood floor. Twin white sofas provide comfortable seating and attractive artwork adorns the wall. A glass coffee table, antique bureau and area rug are inviting.
A flat-screen TV receives English-language news stations. There is a handsome wood table with four dining chairs against the wall opposite the living room windows. The kitchen is to one side of the living room, encountered as soon as you enter the front door. It is fully equipped with a 4-burner electric stove, combination microwave/convection oven, stainless steel countertops, under-counter refrigerator, American and Italian style coffee pots. On the opposite side of the living room is the bedroom, which is open-plan separated from the living room by a wall but there is no door. The ceiling has attractive antique beams. The far wall of the bedroom has floor to ceiling closets and cabinets, with doorway in the center for entering the bathroom. Queen size bed, antique chest-of-drawers. wall-mounted bedside lamps. The bathroom has a fully enclosed shower, sink, bidet, toilet and washing machine.
A foldaway twin bed can be provided upon request, with advance arrangement. This can be set up in the living room for a 3rd person or if 2 people who don't want to share the queen bed. The apartment can accommodate a maximum of three people, including children.

We were met by Christina who was most helpful and patient showing us the features and operation of the apartment and its ameneties. There was fresh fruit and a bottle of wine; a nice touch. We were given directions to markets, shops, restaurants and food stores. The apartment is located ia a great area of Rome within walking distance of many Roman attractions. Give oneself time to explore the sites, sounds and action in the area- become part of the Roman life. For taxi and transportation we highly recommend hiring Stefano; he was on time, knowledgeable and professional. As in the site name "Italy Perfect", it was perfect. P.S. It was easy and convenient to be able to phone Lisa and make arrangements over the telephone: thank you. Barb Pratt and Bill Shostak, Edmonton Alberta Canada

Great Rome Location! Nov 2009 We loved the location of our apartment in Rome. Very near Piazza del Popolo and The Spanish Steps, we walked everywhere -- even walked to Vatican City. The apartment was small but cozy with modern conveniences in a great, old neighborhood. Christina, our greeter, was outstanding.

My husband & I recently enjoyed a 6 night stay at the Bellina Apartment which has a very convenient & central location. We found it spacious for 2 people & thoughtfully set up. The internet access & use of a local mobile phone were very useful. 2 minor drawbacks were the very firm mattress & the lack of a full size ironing board when like us you are travelling for 3 weeks. Our favourite local resaurant was Palathium (from our Italy Perfect recommendations) & we went there twice. The Italy Perfect service was very good & our greeter very helpful & pleasant. We rented the Bellina apartment on very short notice after another accomodation fell through. We especially appreciate Lisa's help: she not only knows the properties, but also the location. We stayed 8 nights over the new year and found the the apartment extremely comfortable: great sofas for reading, comfortable bed and good linens. The decor was far better than so many of the tacky, Rome apartments. Only two drawbacks of the apartment itself. First, the kitchen could have been better stocked: a better skillet and larger pot for pasta, a juice squeezer, etc. We like to cook and the butchers on the street, the green grocers, the fresh pasta from the charming shop on Via de Greci and a good enoteca on Via di Ripetta make this an ideal spot for easy, good and inexpensive meals. The location, while not my first choice, ended up to be quite nice. We liked the street, and being close to Piazza Popolo, especially to take it in early in the mornings or late at night. Just a 20 minute walk to Piazza Navona or Campo de' Fiori; great access to the metro. We didn't eat out a lot in this neighborhood, but did have a fun Sunday brunch at Babette's (the French/Italian restaurant) between Via Babuino and Margutta just one block from Popolo. A word of caution, V. del Corso and Babuino are packed with shoppers, and this can get tiresome, but there are plenty of small streets in this area that are fun to explore. (Or, consider being there in January: the sales--soldi--are spectacular.) We definitely plan on using Italy Perfect again, even if we choose another apartment, or--perhaps- -for another city. Again, thank you, Lisa, for all your help. Dodie and Joe L., Oakland, California

I liked the location. Noise was not a factor. Everything in the apartment operated correctly and I liked the lay out of the apartment which was fine for 2 or 3 people. Would recommend the apartment to anyone. The Greeter was also very nice and helpful. We walked all over the city from here. Peter Casciato, san francisco

The Bellina worked for us very well; we were blessed with a favorable euro/dollar exchange rate and the apartment provided lots of good space, far more than a hotel room, for just under $ 250 U.S. per night for the two of us. The kitchen was efficient even if we used it very little; the bedroom was cozy with many pillows and blankets; the bathroom functioned well. We particularly liked the living room space with it's two couches and flat screen tv---a fine place to collapse after rigorous days of being tourists. The Italy Perfect staff were very helpful, pleasant and efficient. We shall be back! Jane and John, New York City

Our Bellina apartment was wonderful! My husband and I were so happy there. Jim would go out early am and bring me a coffee. Then he'd head out and get something simple for breakfast while I got dressed to start our day. A couple of days we brought dinner in. We did tons of walking and enjoying Rome (some times getting home around 7pm). Nothing better than getting in the shower, having some wine and enjoying a dinner in. We did our big eating at lunch time. Jim got to know a lot of the store keepers on our street! They were all great. Thanks you for sending us so much information about Italy. We read it twice before we left and really benefited from it. Also a great big thank you for giving us Stefano's name for a driver. He picked us up at the airport and took us back to the airport. We were so happy with him. He's a great guy and very reliable. I have recommended our apartment to a lot of our friends. You all are a great find. Again, Thanks. I highly recommend the Bellina apartment!! A great location!!! Pat & James Pinckney, Alamo, CA
