Lake Placid, also known as "Florida's Lake Country" is still one of Florida's best kept secrets. With its rolling hills beautiful lakes and near perfect climate, its increasingly becoming home to not only weekenders but both part-time and year-around residents alike. Lake Placid, Florida, "Caladium Capital of the World", surrounded by 27 freshwater lakes and rolling hills. Several golf courses are close by. In 1995 Lake Placid was voted "Rural Community of the Year" and in 1996 "Outstanding Community of the Year".

Lake Placid is a great place for fishing and boating. The area hosts many varieties of plants and wildlife. The Town of Lake Placid has walking tours of the many famous murals painted on buildings. Try some of the locally grown fresh fruit and vegetable from nearby roadside stands.
Sebring is about 15 minutes north and has many shops, restaurants and theaters.
Many other activities nearby include: Sebring International Raceway, Sebring Regional Airport, and 4 PGA golf courses. 90 min south of Disney World/Orlando.
If you don’t have a boat or personal water craft, a boat rental facility is about a mile away and they will but your choice of craft in the water and remove it when you done.

He are from England and we enjoy the clmate as well as the impeccably cleaned and maintain townhome we stayed in. My husband took atvantage of some of the quality golf course and fishing in the lake feet from our patio. I enjoyed the pristine waters of the pool next to the lake as well as the Jacuzzi tup located in the master bath. But I think most remerable experiences were just cuddling up in fron of the fire with a glass of wine. I highly recommend this place for some quality relaxation.Did you find this review helpful?
