The Villa was just as pretty, if not more, than the pictures. Location is high enough to see both Coral Bay and Hurricane Hole, but low enough on the hill so you can walk to Skinny Legs ( local, VERY casual) diner or to the Donkey Diner, a favorite of my son for breakfast. Property was very clean, very well maintained. Owner was nearby to answer questions, which was a great comfort. They made it very easy for us to fall in love with St. John! Three bedrooms, each with own bathroom. All huge. Note that downstairs bedrooms are only accessible by walking outside on the patio...which was fine for tweens/teens but may not be good for small children. We would love to come again! Be sure to rent a jeep...main town only about 20 minutes away, but hills can be steep....but views are well worth it!!!!

Villa Adeste was the perfect destination for our family. The pictures are accurate but doesn't show the real beauty the surrounds the home. Both the upper and lower porches give different views that are magnificant. Each bedroom has it's own full bathroom and is tastefully decorated (and the beds were extrememly comfortable). Our children enjoyed the beautiful pool for early morning swims as well as late swims after snorkeling all day. There was a huge assortment of towels..plus the washer and dryer helped. Our mornings were greated by 2 donkeys that loved to come right to our front door. The house had everything you need for our daily beach trips. Chairs, cooler, etc. I would recommend this home to anyone. Coral Bay we loved because it was more intimate than the busy Cruz Bay but everything is a short drive.

This was our first time using VRBO and I was a little hesitant because you never know if the pictures are an acurate reflection of the property, Villa Adeste exceeded my expectations, the appearance definitely matched the pictures. Villa Adeste is a wonderful place to stay. It is a private location with magnificient views. The villa is located above Coral Bay which is an easy drive to almost any place on the island. The island is amazing with so many places to snorkel. It was nice to have a home base where we felt comfortable hanging out. The leisure mornings on the deck watching the sun sparkle on the bay was a real treat. Although we did stay more on this side of the island following the recommendations from the locals on the beaches. We found a fabulous restaurant in Coral Bay called Aqua Bistro, MJ the chef does an outstanding job, he is passionate about what he serves up on your plate. The owners of Villa Adeste, Chris and Charlie couldn't have been more helpful in the whole rental process, they made the reservations, directions, check in/out effortless. We had a fabulous time. We want to come back, we just now have to figure out when and if and who we should bring with us. We will definitely recommend Villa Adeste and I suspect we will be a repeat guest.

Villa Adeste is a must…. At least if you're wanting to truly enjoy the entire island of St. John. I kid you not, you must stay in Coral Bay and I can assure you that you will not find a better location for easy access to all the beaches. Besides the access, the views from everywhere are magnificent. As you pull into the driveway to park, if you look straight ahead your jaw should drop from the view through your windshield. After you pull yourself together and make your entrance, you will find yourself in the kitchen and living area. Look at the pictures here, they are exact. My wife and I joked about the pictures maybe being doctored but I can assure you, they are not. If you like the the window views in their pictures, it is even more spectacular in person. To the left as you enter is the master and master bath off of the kitchen and living area. Again, see pics here. Actually the master is not posted here but it's vaulted ceilings and dark wood shutters are a fantastic touch. By far the best room but as you see in the pics here, the others are nothing to shake a stick at. Those other bedrooms are located a level below the master/kitchen/living area. To get there from the kitchen/living area, you are forced to walk past the pool and eye popping views of Coral Bay. It's tough, I know. The rooms are just as big and nice as the master, they just don't have the vaulted ceilings. What they do have that is identical to the upper level is a huge deck with the exact same views. You'll really want to spend several hours of each day at this home, but when you feel like getting out nothing is far away. By the way, driving around here isn't bad at all. The only major problem is keeping the driver's eyes on the road because every turn or twist brings a new and dynamic view of St. John. There aren't many places in the world where you can go and see so much uninhabited land. The reason that it is so great is that you can be as active as you wish to be or as sedimentary as you want. I also have to give a big thank you to Chris and Charlie. My wife and I got concerned about our travel plans coinciding with a brewing hurricane. They made sure all our concerns were addressed. They offered different dates, refund, you name it…they just wanted to make sure we would fully enjoy our time there instead of being worried about the weather. Needless to say, we decided to go anyway. After we arrived, I never even checked the weather once. Can't wait to be back!

If you are smart, you will choose this villa! I promise you there is a reason why it is booked months in advance. My husband and I stayed here with our two teenagers and it was by far one of the best vacation villas we have ever stayed in. You will find everything you need at the villa including beach chairs, beach towels, cooler, etc. We learned a few things from this trip, inlcuding that food here is VERY expensive, so plan accordingly. We saved a ton of money by cooking at the villa and packing lunches for all of our awesome snorkeling trips around the island! One thing we did not know is that the mosquitos and "no see-ums" can be pretty bothersome so pack plenty of bug spray. The owners of the villa were easy to work withand very responsive when making our final arrangements. There are a TON of awesome beaches on St John, but don't miss out on the great hiking in the National Park! No matter what you choose to do on the island, rest assured if you choose this Villa you cannot go wrong!

Chris and Charlie have a beautiful home with many amenities that made our trip to the beautiful island of St John an emense pleasure! This vacation home is exactly what we were hoping for...and much more. The vistas are beautiful; the house is clean and well maintained. Additional amenities not listed include beach towels, well supplied kitchen, hair dryers, extra linens, and profuse tropical breezes! We especially took advantage of the washer and dryer, which allowed us to pack extra light for our trip. Another advantage is the convience of being in Coral Bay, while maintaining privacy at this beautiful home. Coral Bay has some fabulous shops that sell needed groceries, virgin island made peices of art (we particularly enjoyed meeting Betsy at Blue Moon), and of course the must-have trinkets. There is also a great watersport rental shak (Crabby's) that saved our snorkelling vacation when one of our own masks leaked! If you love to snorkel, then St johns's is the best for beach access adventures! And Villa Adeste is the best location to get you to all of the best snorkel spots. (Our personal favorite was the northerwest side of Haulover bay). A few pieces of advice to those coming to St John for the first time: 1) Bring plenty of cash for shops, and taxi's that don't take credit cards, 2) drink plenty of water (bottled available at stores), 3) eat at Shipwrecked in Coral Bay for a special meal; 4) go to Salt Pond in the morning for some of the best bird watching ever; 4) enjoy the beauty of the the Virgin Island National Park and 4) feel confident about choosing Villa Adeste as your vacation home.

Truly an unbelievable experience. This house was the perfect compliment to our stay. The house was so beautiful with such incredible views that we had a hard time leaving the house. We had only planned on doing a house 'pool' day once but ended up staying in three our of the seven days. Excellent privacy and perfect location to hop down to one of many excellent Coral Bay restaurants, bars, or grocery stores. The owners were very accommodating and friendly to deal with. If they have an opening and you have a chance to stay at the Villa Adeste, jump on it. You will not regret it.

Just returned from our family vacation in Coral Bay on St. John, USVI. This property was perfect for our getaway. Very comfortable house with breathtaking views (day or night) with amazing sunrises accompanied by a chorus of island fauna to greet the day. The visually pleasing landscape was complete with a whole family of hummingbirds to entertain us daily. The owners, Chris and Charlie, are very gracious and available to help if needed. So many places to explore that we must visit again. When we do return, we will definitely stay at Villa Adeste. In the meantime, we will recommend this property to friends and family. The only thing we would do differently is stay longer!

The owners are incredibly nice. The house has the best view and is really comfortable. Two sweeping patios allow you to enjoy the island even in the rain! Nicely decorated, pool, etc. No complaints. Wish we could go back every year. 4th rental in St. John and this is my favorite. This side of island is more relaxing and laid back.

Chris and Charlie made our honeymoon just perfect. The house is located on a secluded mountain in Coral bay, just 5 minutes from a couple of restaurants, small supermarket and 15 away from the best beaches of the island (Cinnamon Bay and Trunk Bay). It is perfect for a honey moon since you can be totally away from people or it is perfect for a big family vacation because the house is big enough. It has all the appliances and gadgets that you would want in a beach house: air conditioner (you really don't need it because of the nice breeze from the bay), a fully equipped kitchen, an outside griller, satellite tv, beach chairs, a cooler to take with you, not to mention the very comfortable rooms, bathrooms, a private pool and an amazing view that the pictures can only give you a small taste of. Charlie and Chris made sure everything was perfect and are always a phone call away if you ever need anything (we didn't, but it was nice to know that you can call somebody if you have to). We are definitely going back to this house, much better than a hotel where you don't have a lot of privacy and are forced to eat out all the time. Thank you Chris and Charlie for a wonderful time and are looking forward to going back!

Stayed at Villa Adeste in early October 2010. The villa is beautiful and well stocked with all of the required amenities to make a vacation in paradise live up to its name. During our stay, mother nature decided to gift us with Tropical Depression Otto.. but Charlie and Chris were overwhelmingly helpful in making sure that the house was taken care of with all of the driving rain and to help make sure that this did not put a damper on our vacation. We would highly recommend staying in Coral Bay (the relaxed side of the island) while staying in St John, and specifically recommend booking your next vacation at Villa Adeste! Thanks Charlie and Chris for sharing your beautiful villa with us.

We've stayed at Adeste twice, a few other properties as well over the years, and its certainly our favorite home away from home. Outstanding views with wonderful breezes and spacious outdoor living areas make this villa a cut above the rest. The pool is wonderful for cooling off and Charlie couldn't be a nicer host. Our last visit was August 2010, just an FYI. Our kids stay downstairs, the lower bedrooms are connected by an exterior stairway (typical in STJ) but we've never worried about it. The area is quiet and safe. The road up is steep but much better than most on the island and quiet so navigating the switchbacks is easy. We had some donkeys come visit (which the kids loved) and got our nightly entertainment from the lizards chasing bugs on the exterior walls. AC worked great in the bedrooms but the wonderful breezes made it unnecessary most nights. Beautiful bathroom upstairs, wonderful kitchen, and a very CLEAN house - something that is very important to us. The refrigerator died when we were there but it was handled so well. In fact, Charlie is so on top of potential problems that he warned us about it and got a temporary refrigerator in case it was needed. We were more than happy to help him move it in when it became necessary and the "problem" never inconvenienced us at all thanks to Charlie's foresight. Charlie, we hope to return as soon as possible!

The ride over to Coral Bay is very easy, we adored the villa….. we went there twice this past winter, beds are great, Villa is just lovely, the view is beyond spectacular (see attachment). I don’t think there is any problem with having a toddler there as you have to watch them like a hawk at that age anyway… We did not go over to the Cruz Bay side much except to grocery shop. Best beach for us was Lamshur Bay, a 15 minute ride, great for small children and adults. The Villa has great beach chairs, a cooler, snorkel gear, lots of towels, etc. Charlie and Chris are outstanding hosts…. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Have a great time…..
