This Key West style home, on the western shore of Lake Butler, Central Florida's exclusive chain of lakes, a perfect location for family vacations. The home has been in the owner's family for generations. It has been published in many architectural design magazines including Better Homes & Gardens, Open House magazine & featured on HGTVs Before & After. Located 20 minutes from Disney World & Universal Studios, the home offers lake front entertainment with swimming in crystal clear, sand bottom waters including fantastic fresh water fishing. The 2nd story balcony, with wrap-around porches, offers breathtaking views of the lake & wildlife. The master has hardwood floors, as well as a steam shower & claw foot tub for relaxing. Fireplaces in both the family room & master suite create a cozy environment. The on-site dock is perfect for fishing and docking your boat. When you decide to experience the attractions, Orlando's theme parks, beaches, golf courses & shopping are a short drive away.
You will probably find it difficult to leave the lake at your back door, but if you do, Central Florida offers a wide range of activities and attractions. Walt Disney, Sea World, and Universal Studios, with their multiple theme parks, offers shopping, restaurants, and other attractions, are all only 20 minutes away via back roads with no congested interstates. Central Florida offers many other attractions such as Kennedy Space Center 60 minutes away, and a wonderful selection of golf courses, several within minutes from the home. Several Atlantic coast beaches are within 40 to 80 minutes away. Orlando also offers premier shopping at the Millennia Mall, anchored by Bloomingdales, Neiman Marcus and Macy’s, as well as several outlet malls.
Lake Butler is linked to 13 lakes on the Butler Chain of Lakes. Your family can enjoy boating, swimming, fresh water fishing, canoeing, wind surfing and countless other outdoor activities. The large backyard is perfect for volleyball games and sunbathing. The home is equipped with an outdoor gas grill, which is ideal for cook-outs and enjoying dinner on the patio, while taking in views of the open lake.

I live here locally and use this wonderful Key West Style home for a local get away. This was how a neighbour described the Lake Butler location to me and he was spot on. Spectacular sunrises over the Lake, fishing off the jetty, a little canoeing to see the nesting Ospreys and a morning coffee or evening glass of wine on the veranda. In between trips to the theme parks (an easy 20 minute drive to Disney) or to Mount Dora for a more leisurely afternoon. We cooked for ourselves some of the time and the local Publix supermarket is well stocked and only 5 minutes away. It was wonderful to return after a full day to the haven of Summerport Beach Lake House. I spent a lot of time looking for the perfect getaway, with all the comforts needed while you're away and that extra character and this is it. Simply stunning, inside and out. Jennifer & Jim provided a clear map to reach the house (don't forget to take coins for any unmanned toll booths) and they were only a phone call away if we needed anything. There was so much we could have done that we couldn't possibly fit it all in, so we hope to be back in a couple of years. Would we recommend Summerport Beach Lake House to a friend? Absolutely! We have already; several times. The home, property, amenities, and surrounding area were all exactly what we hoped for and more. A professionally renovated, older home with all the necessaties for a relaxing and stress-free stay. Very convenient location and easy to find. Lake Butler and the interconnected chain of surrounding lakes provided some of the best fresh water boating I've experienced in the state of Florida. The property owners were extremely easy to work with and accomodated our somewhat unique requests. I can't thank them enough for a great weekend and we look forward to staying at the property again in the near future!Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

My husband and I cannot say enough about this beautiful Lake House. The pictures cannot compare to the real thing. The views are breathtaking and the home is so cozy and inviting, we fell in love with it the minute we walked in the door. Our grandchildren live close by and spent a lot of time with us, they loved fishing off the dock. Waking up in the morning and looking out over the 2nd floor balcony at Lake Butler was unbelievable. We spent a lot of time on the porch rocking in the rocking chairs or sitting on the adirondack chairs. Everything was perfect and Jim and Jennifer couldn't have been nicer. It is close to all the attractions which is great. But for us older folk just relaxing in this lovely home was a highlight for us. Jim and Jennifer have paid close attention to detail and every room is done beautifully and is inviting. We loved it so much we call it "our" Lake House and will be spending 6 weeks there in 2010. It is PERFECT in every way.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We all had a great time. My sister-in-law and husband and daughter joined the three of us for a week of relaxation The big surprise was your very own beach on a fresh water lake. Compared to our ocean and salt water enviornment which I have lived in for more than 30 years I really never expected to enjoy the fresh water experience so much. The kids played and we had a wonderful time on the "Lake House" as we affectionately called it. SOOOO close to Disney and all of the attractions, but strangely that all became secondary to enjoying this beautiful home and ammenities. Thank you Jim & Jennifer for sharing your Lake Home with us. We especially enjoyed the beach toys and the Adirondack chairs over looking this beautiful Lake. What a wonderful experience we had for our week on the water. Jim and Jennifer have created the most comfortable waterfront home to share. Given it's close proximity to so much Orlando has to offer, it's hard to imagine how it could have been better. We look forward to future trips to the Ross's home in the future. While staying at the Summerport Lake House my husband and I had the time of our lives! We woke up to sweeping lake views in the morning, relaxed on the patio each afternoon and enjoyed breathless sunsets every night over the lake. The living space is perfect for entertaining, grilling, visiting with guests or relaxing. The environement is warm and inviting and makes you not want to leave. This vacation home allowed my family to thoroughly enjoy everything Orlando, Fl has to offer. Not only is this lake house beautiful and quaint, it offers more than plenty to do including swimming off the beach area, fishing off the deck, and watching fireworks and boaters from the balcony. When you decide to go about the area you are a quick drive to just about everything like Disney and Universal, and there are many upscale areas to shop and dine.
