Waterville Estates in Campton, N.H. is in the heart of charming New England. Located at the southern end of the White Mountains, and just minutes away from the picturesque Lake Region, this home offers superb natural beauty and a multitude of activities.
For skiers, Waterville Valley is about a 12 minute drive and Loon Mountain can be reached in 20 minutes. Other areas, including Attitash, Cannon, and Mount Cranmore, are close as well. For family fun, a host of lake activities await you at Lake Winnipesaukee and beautiful Squam Lake (where a boat tour will show you exactly where Jane Fonda, Henry Fonda and Katherine Hepburn filmed On Golden Pond!) Four free passes to the multi-million dollar recreation complex which has 3 pools, 2 hot tubs, fitness facility, basketball court, tennis court, sauna, tanning bed, arcade room, and swimming pond.
About Your Hosts!: Keith and Marna have loved New England for decades! Where the Maine coast is so picturesque and has great lobster, and the quaint towns of Vermont hold such charm, the trees are just so beautiful in New Hampshire. So they found this little spot in the center of it all. Marna loves to get over to Vermont to King Arthur's Flour Store. Check their website for baking classes. They have enjoyed vacationing all over New England including Rockport, Mass, Bar Harbor, Maine and the Berkshires.
The Beauty of New England: The White Mountains and Lake Region offer great skiing and winter sports galore. Ski tickets at Watervile Valley are also valid at Loon and Cranmore Mountains. And summer brings an array of lake activities, hiking, swimming. And of course, the fall Leaf Peeping is a special adventure. Just north are great family attractions - Castle in the Clouds, Santa's Village, Polar Caves and Story Lane, among others. Scenic drives, especially if you love New England architecture and, of course, great food, will be enjoyed by all! And - don't forget the shopping (tax free!!!) at Tilton outlets, about 45 minutes down I-93. Leaf peeping in this area is fantastic. And for bakers and cooks, within two hours is alos King Arthur's Flour store, and severall miles from that is one of the quintessential New England towns - Woodstock! Then, a day trip over to Kennebunkport for lobster and blueberry pie! YUM!
Great Food!: The area is home to a number of great restaurants - our favorite, the Woodshed, is located near Moultonborough with atmosphere and prime rib that can't be beat. The Mad River Tavern is just minutes away - charming and wonderful food. The Common Man has a number of restaurants in the area - all with a great reputation!

My husband and I stayed here recently with our infant and were very comfortable. The townhouse was spacious with a warm, cozy feel. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to prepare some of our own meals, and the property was clean and all set up in time for our arrival. The owners, Marna and Keith, were very helpful and a pleasure to deal with. If you're looking for a quiet place with easy access to the White Mountains, this is it. We'd return in a heartbeat.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0
