  This was a great place to stay in terms of Hotel amenities and service. Unfortunately the room I rented was not maintained to Hotel standards as the unit is not in the renters pool and solely maintained by the owner. While the room was well appointed and clean, the big screen tv was not in working order, nor was there internet access, and the phone did not function properly. Additionally there were no waste baskets provided, no ironing board available, nor was there a daily maid service. While I didn't attempt to use the hot tub located on the balcony it did not appear to be in working order. On balance, the Hotel staff was superb, as was the dining, pool and fitness center, and overall location. Two star grade provided as a compliment to the Hotel staff only.

  Owner response: The rate charged was very inexpensive and I make it clear that it does not include maid service. The hotel provides cleaning and maid service for only $35 and this is explained to guests. As for the hot tub, it needs to be set up with the hotel.

  My wife and I stayed 4 nights at this suite at the Mayfair Hotel, and would highly recommend it to others. The location of this 4-star Hotel in Coconut Grove is superb - directly across from the CocoWalk shopping area. The Hotel has an interesting, almost Oriental decor, and has rooms surrounding an open courtyard. The room furnishings are high-end, and the bathroom is luxurious. We enjoyed use of the hot tub on the balcony. There is no view from the balcony, as tropical growth surrounds it for privacy while using the hot tub. The price from the owner was a real bargain compared to usual room prices at the Mayfair. The room was quite clean when we arrived. During our stay we did our own housekeeping. The daily price for parking was $26, so we used a cheaper lot at a nearby building. Be prepared for heavy Miami traffic.

  Recommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+, sightseeing.

  First of all, the room is a one bedroom -- there is no "den" to speak of. Secondly, it only sleeps 2 (in the one bed). Thirdly, do not be mislead by the photos (they belong to the Mayfair and do not accurately depict this particular unit). And do not be mislead by the description. You are not allowed to use the pool, lobby bar, restaurant or spa, nor are you allowed to use room service. Next, don't expect to have phone service. There is no working phone in the room, and none of our 3 cell phones worked in the unit. Also, don't expect maid service and don't expect toilet paper, tissues, or soap as there was none when we arrived -- we had to go out and get our own! Last but certainly not least, do not expect the owner to return your phone calls. The toilet was broken, and we tried on multiple occasions to reach the owner on two different numbers he provided. He never answered, nor did he return our phone calls! We would not recommend this property to anyone!

  Owner response: These are hotel units, individually owned, in the beautifully remodeled Mayfair Hotel and Spa. They do not have kitchens. I have several units, two of which are suites. Do not expect a condo with a kitchen. It is a beautiful hotel suite, in a perfect location in Coconut Grove. The price negotiated with this guest was considerably less than that quoted - and way less than the price charged by the Hotel - and therefore did not include maid service or amenities. The guest was aware of this. Previous management gave the individually owned renters a hard time, but this has completely changed and management is very helpful and accommodating and there is no problem at all using the hotel facilities.

  Very nice hotel. Nice unit just not prepared properly. Unit was dusty with no soap or drinking cups or glasses. Hot tub advertised was dirty and not operational. No remotes for TVs. Owner communication very poor

  Recommended for: Tourists without a car.

  Owner response: Since this review of two years ago, we have taken steps to ensure that maid service is consistent and rooms are cleaned and ready for guests. Hot tub needs to be arranged with hotel desk.
