You won't want to leave the property once you arrive. I can’t tell you how many of our guests never get to town, which is only a few miles down the road to the Harbor. Once you are on the family compound you’re perched on a secluded tidal estuary. It’s really an aquatic playground off the Sheepscot River.
Our little cove was written up by the Portland Press Herald as one of the best Kayaking areas in Maine, and it’s all just down a short path to our private dock. A short excerpt, "Approaching Oven Mouth and the Boothbay Region Land Trust preserve, we were a world away from the bustle of city life. The thick forest hangs over rocky cliffs. The water is blue-green. Giant eagle’s nests are everywhere."
Use the Kayaks and our little sailboat/rowboat if you like. The house is fun, too. The first floor is one great room with its granite countered gourmet kitchen, a huge mahogany bar, field stone fireplace, screened tower porch and a deck with hot tub. There's an outside shower to rinse off when you come up from the dock. Upstairs is the master bedroom with sky lights, vaulted ceiling, and tower with balcony always gets a wow. We’re traveling this summer, so a few weeks will be available. |
