The home was very clean, well maintained and perfectly suited to us with all the comforts of home including spacious rooms and modern appliances. It’s located in a very peaceful setting away from all the noise and congestion of a big city and yet it’s just a short drive to town for shopping or dining. Rose and Captain Ron were very welcoming and helpful during our stay; they offered suggestions about area events and activities as well as checking to see if there was anything we needed. We enjoyed a tour to the river via the airboat piloted by Captain Ron. There were also many fish to catch, bicycles rides taken, walks on the birding trail nearby and kayaking trips along Mason Creek. The Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park nearby was filled with many of Florida's native animals and well worth visiting. The month of January flew by. We'd like to stay again sometime and feel comfortable recommending it to our friends.

Rose and Captain Ron were wonderful to us. My husband and I came with our daughter, son-in-law and grandson for a long weekend. The house was in excellent condition, very clean, well stocked and large open rooms. Captain Ron took us out in his pontoon and gave us the grand tour of Homosassa. Rose made us feel at home. Their home is across the street so if anything is needed they are there to take care of you. We can't wait to come back there is still so much we want to see. If you go to visit make sure Captain Ron takes you to meet the Shrimp Lady! We had such a great time!

We scalloped with the kids over July 4th weekend and were thrilled to find this house. Boat ramp is 100 yds away, plenty of parking for cars & trailer, easy access to the Gulf (avoid the zoo of boat traffic down the river and the ramp follies at McRae's). But the best part was the hospitality of Ron & Rose - they are very welcoming and eager to help in any way. It's a short walk to their dock and it's a beautiful setting. An older house but very nicely appointed and well maintained. We have stayed a number of times at Riverside Resort and I much prefer this quieter setting with less hassle and less people and better acccess to the Gulf.

The creekside house was great! Had a awesome time scalloping, and relaxing when we did that is, the scallops were just so many and fun we had a blast. Ron and Rose are very great, Ron showed us how to get in and out of river to go scalloping and to the springs, Rose showed us how to clean the scallops, her nick name is scallop cleaning queen. He put us right in the honey hole of scallops. The sun sets on the dock are very great. I will say it is a great get away.

I've read the other comments for this vacation home and they all say the same things our family experienced here at Creek Side. The house was clean, comfortable and sooo relaxing. The house sits in the middle of a huge piece of property with all kinds of native trees and foliage. It is pretty secluded the way it sits, nestled in the middle of the lot. We felt like we had the whole block to ourselves! Our kids rode around on the bikes when we weren't out on the water. Ron and Rose are quite a team. They are so interesting and eccentric. They were so hospitible. They made us feel like we were family. Ron showed us to the scallop beds, Rose showed us how to catch and clean. We enjoyed hearing about their amazing life while we sat and cleaned the scallops. They were so sweet to our kids and our dog. The kids had a blast. They were completely wore-out when we came home! We can't wait to get back and do it again. I wouldn't think of staying anywhere else. My favorite part of our stay was when my husband and I snuck out for a walk on the dock around midnight. The sky was amazing! I've lived in Florida my whole life and never have I seen so many stars! There happened to be a meteor shower that night. I was truly blown away. Thank you Ron and Rose! We felt like we left with more than we had when we came. We left with some new, great friends and some great family vacation memories!

My family said our vacation in Homosassa was a perfect 10! The Creekside house was great--accurately described in the listing and photos but even better in person in its' serene setting. It was equipped with everything you could possibly want, attractive with very nice artwork and furnishings, and extremely comfortable. It was clean and well-maintained. What made it exceptional was the owners, Cap'n Ron and Rose. They truly care about their guests and do everything possible to accomodate them. They're both very friendly and were truly a bonus to our trip. They were quite helpful in recommending activities and spots in the area. We really enjoyed our trips with Cap'n Ron on both the airboat and pontoon boat. He's not only a good boat captain, but has lots of interesting stories and a wealth of information about the area. One day was spent scalloping and another swimming and snorkeling off the pontoon boat at Homosassa Springs. We'd never been scalloping, so the patient help from Cap'n Ron in catching them, and from Rose in cleaning them, was much appreciated. We also greatly enjoyed our visits to the Wildlife Park and Rainbow Springs. Our 3 children had great fun riding the bikes that were there for them, riding in the airboat, and everything else they did. Myself and my family would highly recommend this home. Thank you Ron and Rose ever so much!!!

You cannot find a better place to stay than the Creekside house. It is extremely clean, spacious, and just steps from Masons Creek and the private boat dock. Ron and Rose are two of the nicest people you will ever meet. They are very hospitable and work hard to make sure your stay is a pleasant one. Capt. Ron showed us how to navigate the creek out to the Gulf for scalloping as well as how to access the main river for a trip up to the Springs for swimming. He also showed us some great spots for scalloping and we easily got our limit every day. They provided bikes, canoes, and even took our son for an airboat ride. Rose was very helpful with information on buying property in the area for retirement. She is also an excellent scallop cleaning instructor.. We will be back next year!

We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay at the Creekside House. Ron and Rose were gracious hosts and very helpful for our first time scalloping trip. Capt Ron showed us how to navigate the Mason Creek to the Gulf and the Homosassa River by taking our son on his airboat while we followed in our boat. The house was lovely, artfully decorated and well equipped. This was a perfect location, pristine, quiet, beautiful. Thanks Rose and Ron for a delightful weekend. We hope to visit again in the future.
