Ocean View West is the big purple house between mile markers 4 and 5 on Fort Morgan Road. This is a 4 bedroom 4 1/2 bath duplex with an adjoining door to Ocean View East that can been opened if you should need both sides for large gatherings. This unit is brightly decorated and sleeps 14 comfortably (the bedrooms are quite roomy).
There are two decks that overlook the pool and have a great view of the beach and the Gulf of Mexico. The pool is shared with Ocean View West. The water is only about 150 yards from the house and you do not have to cross or even get on any road to get there - very safe for children. Two master bedrooms are upstairs with their own balcony over-looking the pool. There is one master bedroom downstairs for those that do not want to deal with more stairs!
The pool is only 5 feet deep at its deepest. There are many lounge chairs and other seating around the pool. The pool is gated. There is an outdoor shower to use before entering the pool or going upstairs.
This house is very "Kid friendly". We also accept small pets between Labor Day and Memorial Day.
The living area is large enough so that everyone can gather to watch TV, play games, etc. Each master bedroom has a king size bed and a private bath. The fourth bedroom has two bunk beds with a double on the bottom and a twin on top it also has a private bath. There is a half bath along with a washer and dryer on the main floor.
This is a non smoking unit and we do not rent to student groups. There is parking under the house for 6 cars and plenty of parking outside. We require a $200 deposit. Summer rentals are Saturday to Saturday. Check our bargains for the winter months! We live about 45 minutes away between Foley and Fairhope just off Highway 98. We try to keep the home filled with all that you need, but if you find you need anything we will try our best to get it to you.

This is the second year for my family but the first year for me. The Purple house East and West are awesome, it had everything we needed and the location was exactly what we were looking for, quiet area and the beach was wonderful and we had our own private pool! we are planning on going back in 2012! Please don't hesitate to stay at the purple house!!!!! Lots to due in Gulfshores and Orange beach we even went to Mobile and Pensacola!!!

On July 31st, our family of 19 returned to both sides of the Purple Palace for the 4th consecutive year, and we are so glad we did. The water was beautiful, clearer than ever, you could see straight through to the bottom. No smell whatsoever, and yes, there were a few tar balls, but of no issue to us. Workers were coming along and sifting sand late at night, but there was little to find except the few tar balls at water's edge perhaps. Everyone got in the water, and the kids dug deep in the sand, as usual, with no oil to be seen. AND..........Jeannie and Ed have done it again, adding more improvements, enticing us to return. Both sides have brand new huge French Door refrigerators, really, really nice! Both sides also got new sofas and love seats which are really nice as well. And the rooms and stairwells on the main floor have also been repainted. Outside, they have added a nice bench-type-swing, suspended on chains, on the pool deck. AND............they have converted the pool to a saline pool. No more chlorine in the eyes! We are so glad we were patient and did not cancel, Jeannie keeping us informed throughout the summer. Jeannie and Ed are wonderful owners who truly care about their property and guests. I highly recommend this well-maintained property. Our family loves the Purple Palace, and we will be back next year!

We love Purple House. So much room! Second year here. Come on down. The oil situation is way overstated. A few tar balls and no odor or sheen. We have been swimming, on boogey boards, and skim boards in the clear gulf water. Kids play in the surf. We have all ages with us, from young children to grandma. House has all you need. Having a pool is great. Beach is super. Water was so calm yesterday. Clear and blue. Owners are super responsive to needs and details. We have been coming to the panhandle since 1995. Have stayed at Pensacola Beach, Perdidio Key, Romar and Orange Beach, and at Gulf Shores. We love the Fort Morgan area. Already made reservations for next year.

thank-you for sharing you vacation home with us.we rented both sides of the purple house and the blue house for family reunion..had a great time..didn't get "in"gulf because of the oil situation,but,had a great time on beach and in pool..houses are beautiful and clean,well taken care of..enjoyed the welcome cookies..nice touch!..nice, quiet area of the gulf... :-)

This was our first stay with Jeannie and Ed and we are hooked! The property is well maintained and you could not ask for better property owners who treated us like family. The house has all the amenities you will need, well stocked for cooking needs of any taste. We had previously stayed elsewhere on our previous trip to Fort Morgan, but was thrilled when we found one with a pool. Highly recommend this property, cannot wait till next year for a return trip back, we only stayed 4 nights this trip but plan a full week on our return.
