North Carolina’s Beech Mountain is Eastern America’s highest town and resort community at 5506 ft above sea level. This is the place for all seasons where you can do all the things you enjoy.
Our chalet has 2 bedrooms, a spacious loft and 3 bathrooms. We are 11 miles from Sugar Mountain, 3 miles from Ski Beech and closer to the Golf Course and Clubhouse. Deer cross our property frequently. From the deck, you can watch the birds feed, enjoy the winter mountain views, and feel the cool mountain breeze.
After entering the chalet via the easy level entrance you will find the kitchen and great room with stone fireplace and gas logs, the King master bedroom/bath, the Queen bedroom and the second bath. A spiral staircase will lead you to the spacious loft overlooking the great room, where you will find a double bed, 2 twin beds and the third bathroom.
After a day of adventure, relax in the cozy new Living room furniture by Clayton Marcus and Lazyboy. Watch tv or enjoy a movie on the LCD HDTV, play cards or a board game at the VA House Dining room table that seats six, or eat a nice meal that cooked in the crock pot while you were out. The kids can retreat to the loft to sit on the Spudbag and watch their movie. Our Gingerbread house has all the comforts of home.
We ask that you keep our house clean during your stay. We provide the cleaning supplies, as well as dishwasher detergent, liquid dish detergent, and liquid hand soap. We leave a starter supply of toilet paper and paper towels for you and ask that you do the same for the next guest. You clean it according to our checkout cleaning checksheet or Departure cleaning service is available at an additional fee.
Summertime temperatures in the 70’s provides a refreshing relief from the summer heat. As the leaves turn gold, orange, and red in the autumn, the array of color stretching across the mountain range is wonderous. When the snow falls, Beech Mountain becomes a winter wonderland with snow skiing, ice skating and sledding.
As our guest, you may enjoy full privileges at the Beech Mountain Club (fees are charged at the facilities). In Season, enjoy a round of golf at Beech Mountain’s 18-hole championship golf course, or play on one of the tennis courts, or lounge around the heated Olympic size swimming pool. There is a fitness center open year round that provides classes to satisfy your exercise needs. You can take a hike and picnic by the creeks or waterfalls as you watch the wildlife surrounding you. We saw Bear tracks the first weekend of November.
If you’d like to explore areas off the Mountain, we are convenient to Grandfather Mountain, Linville Caverns, Tweetsie Railroad, Banner Elk, Boone, Blowing Rock, and Valle Crucis where you can enjoy horseback riding, whitewater rafting, fly fishing, shopping, dining, Lees-McRae and Appalachian Summer Arts Programs and ASU Football.
We hope you enjoy your next trip to the North Carolina Mountains at Spanky's Gingerbread House. |
