Within a few miles of the wineries and Floydfest, just off the Blue Ridge Parkway, and overlooking the headwaters of the Dan River, 'A Blue Ridge Haven' is nestled in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains. This contemporary and charming authentic Appalachian style log cabin sleeps eight people. Made from hand-hewn Hemlock logs, the cabin is presented in a nature motif, well appointed and complete with creature comforts such as free high speed/broadband internet, computer, high efficiency gas fireplace, a well-equipped kitchen, coffee and espresso machines, black walnut furniture and stone accents, washer/dryer, linens, towels, music, movies, DVD/VHS player, games, dartboard, keyboards, iron/board, charcoal grill, etc.
Along the Dan River, within 5 miles from Chateau Morrisette and Villa Appalachia, with easy access off the Blue Ridge Parkway at mile marker 177.5 and Rt. 58, the cabin offers the perfect setting for a family outing or a getaway for two. Located on site and within walking distance enjoy a taste of Appalachia history including a grist mill, Chapel 'Casa de Paz',(seasonal) ice cream parlor and live bluegrass music at Christopher's Pizza. Hike the valleys, hills and meadows and enjoy the spring fed ponds and tributaries. Within a few minutes from the cabin, you can also enjoy historic Mabry Mill, and other sites along the Blue Ridge Parkway.
While private, the cabin is not isolated, and is within 3 miles of shopping in the town of Meadows of Dan, and nearby Stuart, Floyd, and Hillsville (water park), and just off the Crooked Road-Virginia's Heritage Musical Trail! After a day in the beautiful mountains, visit Chateau Morrisette and Villa Appalacchia. We are children and dog friendly.
