This house offers all the comforts of home. Our home is located in one of the original neighborhoods created here in Anchorage, City View or now known as Airport Heights; our home was built in 1954, the neighborhood is conveniently located 20 minutes from the Anchorage International Airport and 10 minutes from downtown. Our home is also 3 minutes to the Glenn Highway (which heads north towards Denali National Park) and 5 minutes to the Seward Highway (which heads south towards Seward and Homer).
Our location makes this home ideal for independent travelers that would like easy access to both downtown and both highways.
The home has been completely renovated with new paint, updated kitchen and bathroom and new décor in the bedrooms and living room.

Anxious for another snow shoe adventure in Alaska
VRBO Bear stayed here - 08/20/2008 My buddies and I had a great vacation in this quaint house located in a quiet subdivision. It was convenient to downtown and all that we needed to get to and only twenty minutes from the Anchorage Airport. The long days did not get dark until around 11:30 PM and the sun began to rise around 5:30 AM, making summer a beary good time to visit this northern frontier. It gave me and family members much more time to go looking for others of my kind out of hibernation. Boy, did we find them. We also saw at least six moose right in the city and some relatives of the grizzly side of the family when we visited Denali National Park.
We then visited Seward and went in search of some fish. On the way we saw several bald eagles, sea lions, puffins and many other critters. We did find the fish - humpback whales! They were all way to big to get my paws on.
You can tell that the owners have spent a lot of time making this home a special haven. It was very clean and had everything that we needed to enjoy our end of summer vacation. Beary-beary nice! Halibut is one of my favorite foods and there is no better place to find fresh halibut then here in Alaska. But, if you're looking for a great change of pace, try the "Brew House" which is just minutes from this property. They brew their own root beer, cream soda and have beary good non-alcoholic Mojitos. Enjoy your vacation at this property the next time you venture off to Alaska.

Why the Owner Chose Anchorage
We actually bought this home right before we got married and have been living in it. It has been a great home for us. After vacationing in Hawaii and staying at VRBO condo – we thought it might be a good option for us. We worked on the house for over a year getting it ready to present as a rental. During the process we had a baby boy that only solidified for us that this would be a great option for people traveling with family. We opened the house to travelers for the first time last summer and have not looked back.
The Unique Benefits at this House
Seriously, this is the most convenient neighborhood in Anchorage. We have been spoiled living here. The grocery store and gas station are within walking distance. There is a park at the end of the street where three different bike trails converge - you can walk , bike, cross country ski almost anywhere from this park. The Wal-Mart and Fred Myer are just a few minutes’ drive away. It is just minutes from downtown attractions. The longest drive from here is actually from the airport (about 20 minutes).
In 1973, the Airport Heights community agreed to voluntarily assess their properties in order to create a park. The original price for the six acres of parkland identified for community use was $200,0
Chester Creek flows from its headwaters high in the Chugach Mountains through the heart of the Anchorage Bowl and empties into Knik Arm under the Coastal Trail and railroad tracks by Westchester Lagoo
This mall contains a grocery store, department store and several other small stores
This is the highway that will take you north of Anchorage to Wasilla, Palmer, Talkeetna, Denali National Park and Fairbanks
The Seward highway will you south of Anchorage to Girdwood, Portage, Whittier, Hope and Seward. The Seward Highway will also take you to the Sterling Highway which leads to Homer (the end of the road)

Hi! We are actually a family of three however; it is difficult to get a picture of all of us at the same time! This a photo from the Alaska State Fair last summer, we had just finished with the petting zoo.
I was raised in Anchorage and my son was born here in Alaska. My entire family was born and raised in Alaska - so I feel fortunate to have a rich family history in the great state of Alaska.

The great morning walks smelling all the beautiful lilac bushes, and the Chester Creek wildlife area.
