We thoroughly enjoyed our week in this house. We loved the open space dining area with beautiful views out the windows. Our family gathered around the dining room and played jeopardy after sharing a meal at the table. The kitchen is a great space for serious chefs and admirers. My family would recommend this house and we may go back again.

Rooms are spacious and kitchen is modern. Furniture is comfortable as are beds. Secluded property on gravel road about 1-2 miles from woodstock. Near nice lake for running but not allowed to swim/boat/fish. Can see neighbor houses but very woodsy. Neighbors very nice and welcoming. Outside of house looks older than photos and has not been fixed up recently. Pool is refreshing but needs maintainence. No locks or malfunctioning locks on many of outside doors. Told no need to lock doors as no crime locally, but many neighbors have alarm systems and house is near town. Wife was very nervous sleeping in a house with unlockable doors. Biggest issue was no air conditioning or ceiling fans in any room other than master bedroom. Owner told us prior to visit that the house stays cool and ac not necessary but this is not the case in summer when outside temp above 85. Our last day in house was very hot, even with the two fans we bought. We had to camp out in the master bedroom most of day. Has cable and dvd player but screen is small. Owners were very nice on phone. Overall, nice stay but beware broken door locks and lack of ac.

Owner response: Two responses. 1.) This is incorrect information on the doors and their ability to lock. We are city dwellers as well and always lock the doors when we are there. In fact, we never said to keep doors open, despite the safety. All the doors lock, so the guests were mistaken on this. We let them know this, but for some reason they still did not understand that some of the doors will unlock when you open them from the inside, but they are locked from the outside. 2.) They stayed during the hottest heat wave of the whole summer. I never said the house would be cool if it was over 95 outside. There is an A/C in the Master + ceiling fan. There is a ceiling fan in one of the other bedrooms, and the third bedroom has a table fan that is provided. This is the first time a guest has complained about the lack of A/C in the whole house and we have always been up front about the A/C only being in the Master Bedroom.
Lovely, lovely stay!
Lovely, lovely stay!
The owners could not have been more accommodating, the space, just amazing. The fireflies dancing outside the master bedroom were one of my favorite memories. Our kids loved the walk down around the stream - one of their highlights. We look forward to another getaway to this transportive home. And really convenient to Woodstock, other day trip destinations, etc. Highly recommend it!

Valentine's Day Weekend Dream House!
Valentine's Day Weekend Dream House!
My husband and I stayed at this house during Valentine's Day weekend. It was also our Anniversary weekend. The property is absolutely amazing, very clean and affordable, and so romantic! It is located only a few minutes away from all the shops and restaurants that Woodstock has to offer. It was still chilly and there was snow on the ground. Every morning, we woke up to the sound of the creek just outside of our bedroom window and birds chirping. We also found a few traces of what looked like deer footsteps in the snow. The house looked just the way the listing describes it and had even more amenities than we expected. The master bedroom has a beautiful view of the woods and the master bathroom has a jacuzzi tub. The kitchen had everything we needed. The owners were very helpful and promptly answered all our questions. There were also notes left all over the house that directed us with how to properly use all appliances and how to use the internet. Overall, we both felt very comfortable and at home. We definitely recommend it to everyone who are looking for a romantic quiet getaway and to those who are looking for a place where they can spend some time with their family and friends. We can't wait to come back someday soon. Thank you Willow for making this vacation such a pleasant and memorable one!!

About the owner: We love Woodstock for its charm and peacefulness.
Why the Owner Chose Woodstock:
Highlights for us: outdoor activities, art galleries, warm and friendly community. In the summer there are concerts and festivals, plays and art shows. In the fall we have the film festival and Halloween party. In the winter, there is skiing and sledding, and the famous Christmas bash in town. The spring is filled with blooming trees and shrubs and the wonderful smells as everything grows.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Mostly, it is just so peaceful and quiet here. We love the stream that runs through the property. Our kids enjoy playing in the stream and in the woods where we made some small paths through the pine trees. The pool is very relaxing and has a great view. The kitchen and community area of the house is great for cooking and visiting. The bedrooms are set off down the hallway so that people who are resting can really get away from the busy activity in the rest of the house.
