We have used VRBO several times to book vacation properties and have always been pleased...... until now. What a disappointment. We walked in and I thought... this isn't very nice... and the furnishings obviously haven't been updated since the 70's. Then I immediately realized the unit had not been cleaned since the last renters. GROSS!!!! The trashcans were full, the fridge was full, rotten vegitables on the counter.. beds not made!! Not what you want to encounter after a full travel day. Towel racks falling off the wall, kitchen cabinets in disaray, owners belongings in the closets and drawers. I had to look at mens underwear and shoes in the master bedroom closet. The other bedrooms had childrens clothing in them. This unit is not set up for rental property. The kitchen lacked glasses and utinsels, the appliances were outdated and not in great working condition. The fireplace was dirty and did not draft appropriately, filling the unit up with smoke if you tried to use it. The views were not very good. Just not a great property. I WOULD NOT rent this property again, nor would I recommend it. The best thing about the property was the private hot tub, which seemed to be in good repair. The owner was attentive when we called to tell him that the place had not been cleaned, and managed to get a cleaning crew out that night. He was embarrased that it had not been taken care of... but I was embarrased as well, because it wasn't just my family, but guests we had brought with us as well. Disappointed. Spent alot of money on this unit, and it was pretty gross.
