This house is fantastic! It definitely has the best view on the lake and the décor is beautiful. Everything you need for a great getaway and the owners are so nice!! Highly recommend this one!

Thanksgiving Family Vacation 2012

We took all of our kids and grandkids, plus a friend, to your beautiful lake house for a family vacation. The teenagers had so much fun hiking & exploring & building bon fires at night to make smores. Since it was rather chilly (we're from the Tampa Bay Area in Florida) the adults went to some falls, went shopping in Helen, Larry & I went to the casino in Cherokee for a couple of hours and had lunch at Paula Dean's place - the food was great!! We were not able to rent Pontoon Boats - they were closed for the season. And, of course, it was too cold to swim. My son-in-law loved the gormet kitchen and he cooked all of our meals when we were home. Thanks so much for allowing us to rent your beautiful home. I would recommend it to anyone. .

We had such a nice time at the Lake. We cooked up a storm in your wonderful kitchen! We played Golf at Kingwood and The Orchard. We hiked a portion of the Appalachian Trail and the Tallulah Gorge. We drove into Helen, had dinner at LaPrades Marina, and rented a Pontoon Boat there to cruise the lake on our sunniest day. Loved the Pottery Shop near the corner at Brooks Store! Thanks again, all your suggestions were so good and we enjoyed our week.

Just wanted to send you a note thanking you for sharing your beautiful home! It could not have been more perfect (especially the master suite!...wow!!). We recently enjoyed a family reunion at this beautiful paradise on the lake. The owners made sure that each person was comfortable and happy in the lap of luxury. The views are spectacular from every window, and there was a feeling of privacy that we all enjoyed. The whole house was used, with the kids staying and playing in the basement bedroom and den. We took several pontoon boat tours of the lake, and the kids enjoyed tubing all day long on Saturday. The gourmet kitchen came in very handy for cooking a delish supper. Thank you so much for providing such a beautiful vacation spot.

Our Company Retreat

This place is spectacular, no doubt about it! Our company had it's corporate retreat at Lake Burton this year and the ladies in our company we able to stay in this beautiful home. Everyone could not get over how cozy and beautiful the home was. Every thing was perfect! The owner, well, she just could not be any nicer and so helpful. She gave us wonderful suggestions on places to go and things to do. Just a real sweetheart! There were 14 men and 7 ladies. The ladies stayed in this home, and the guys stayed right across the lake from us. We rented a pontoon boat for the weekend and it was only 10 minutes max for us to cross the lake by the boat, which worked out wonderfully. We went horseback riding and zip lining. What fun! Everyone had a terrific time and hopefully we can do it again next year. If so, we will definitely want to stay here again.

This was a wonderful property for our two families. We loved the porch/deck and our front row view of the lake. Although the house is situated on the main portion of the lake, there were no noise issues or rowdiness. In fact, it got beautifully and serenely quiet at dusk, just in time for evening cruise. We rented a boat from the marina. It was a great deal as far as renting an expensive boat can be, and they were very accommodating in terms of tubes, skis, etc. The kitchen was fabulous! The guys like to cook, so they got to cook their hearts out with good equipment. Two (minor) shortcomings: no wireless Internet, although the house has Internet, but the owner has to pay for time used. Also, the living room sofa and chair have seen better days.

Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

Owner response: Thanks so much to the renters providing such positive feedback about our Lake Burton place. They will be glad to know that I have found the perfect sofa bed and chair to replace ones in the living room. They look and feel great! Our Internet broadband service is free to our renters and works all the time. We provide a computer and a printer for our renters to use anytime they need it, so they can access their email and many other applications.

Kayc, Our Family Reunion was a great success as your place was a wonderful place to stay. We enjoyed it so much. I determined that Lake Burton, particularly your spot on the Lake, has to be one of the most beautiful lakes I've ever seen. The place, itself was just lovely and had room for all to enjoy gathered together or a moment of privacy. We had everything we needed and more. The sunsets were spectacular and the swimming was warm and relaxing. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Our Family Reunion was a huge success, mainly because your place was just beautiful. We enjoyed it so very much. I, personally found Lake Burton one of the most beautiful lakes I've ever seen. I believe that your place must have the most beautiful panoramic view of the Lake. It could not have been nicer. The place itself was comfortable and lovely. We had everything we needed and more. Everything was spotless and welcoming. Everyone was pleased with their rooms and delighted with their own bathrooms and TV's, etc. The teenagers enjoyed staying downstairs in their own apt. like area. There was plenty of places to gather as a group or to get away for a moment of privacy. We enjoyed boating with my brother's boat and the kids enjoyed skiing. We had my brother's surpise 70th birthday and 40th wedding anniv. at Mama G's which was great and the food was excellent. They were very nice and did a great job. The kids all enjoyed White Water Rafting and hiking to waterfalls. We also enjoyed a trip to Tiger Winery and Mark of the Potter. We also explored the flea market and the shops in Clayton. Overall, it was a fun filled trip and quite eventful when the telephone pole fell on my brother's car and we were without power our last night there !!! Even with that happening we found lots of candles and still enjoyed an exciting evening. We were just thankful no one was hurt and the car was able to be driven back to Florida. We had a wonderful stay at a beautiful place and would highly recommend it to anyone. It will be remembered for a long time to come. Thank you for such a comfortable and lovely place to stay.

We loved your house and the views are so amazing. Thank you so much for your hospitality. We hope to rent again this summer. Kudos to you for buying the property with the best of all lake views (Bought in May of 1976.) So far your package of information and communications have been the most professional and welcoming of any of our rentals. It is very much appreciated! P.S. I think your maid did a great job. We loved this house, no detail was left unattended to, like the hairdryer in the master bath, and reading glasses, batteries and maps in the kitchen drawer. Chef-equipped kitchen and to-die-for master bath with steam shower and giant whirlpool tub with view of the lake. The renovated cottage was adorable and provided every necessity. The main house had beautiful wood paneling, recessed canned lighting, two-story windows in the great room and a big, natural stone fireplace. One of my favorite moments was cuddling with my daughter in the hammock watching the sunset over the lake.

Thank you for the use of your lake home. We had the most wonderful time. We had 7 children from the ages of 10 to 4 months. They had the best time ever. We went on walks every day and they even climbed up a mountain one day and found a small cave. They were so excited. They went fishing every day, had a great time. The adults had a great time also. Thanks again for helping to make our thanksgiving special.

Spent five nights week prior to July 4th with large family group. Its July 15 and I have scheduled to fly back to meet with realtor to purchase home on lake. The lake is incredible. This house has one of the best views on the lake. Very comfortable house for a large group. We had plans to do all these great things around the lake and Clayton BUT stayed put almost the entire time. Old and young thoroughly enjoyed.

This home is truly a wonderful place. The beautiful lake and majestic mountain scenery is simply spectacular. We had 4 couples comfortably accommodated in the house and cottage and it was sheer pleasure to eat & socialize on the deck, on the dock, & inside with the views from their floor-to-ceiling windows. A perfect getaway to build memories and just plain RELAX! Thank you so much!

This lake house is amazing, never, and i mean never, have i ever enjoyed a place so greatly. The view is great, the water is crystal clear, there is just no better place on earth, greater than this lake house. If your reading this message, than i tell you, as soon as you can, you must rent this lake house. Trust me, these days in this lake house will be the greatest days of your life. We will be spending our second year at the Bond's house on Lake Burton this month. It is a wonderful place to stay with for the families we have in our group of friends. We've been going to Lake Burton for over 10 years and by far we have enjoyed the Bond's place the most. Plenty of room, great view, super dock area, and the best location on the lake. Just check out the view of Charlie mountain and you'll see why we're coming back.

Hi Kayc, I want to thank you again for sharing your home with us at Lake Burton. It was beautiful, and we would like to return in the summer if you have it available for a weekend in late July. The view was fantastic, as you said, and we were dying to jump in the lake. The water was very clear, and one of our "little ones" caught a fish from your dock. We found sliding rock and 3 of our brave children actually tried it. My daughter Jackie was one of them. I bet the water was no warmer than 50 degrees. Your home is fantastic and it was perfect for us, I hope you have room for us in your schedule next year.. Thanks again TB
