  I loved this rental! The description was very accurate. The home was clean and well maintained; I felt just like I was back at home. They provided a lot of extras not even mentioned in the ad! The only thing you need to bring is your food. They have excellent air conditioning to combat the hot hot temperatures outside! Very spacious, had plenty of room to sleep, eat and play! The State park was about 5 minutes down the road and I met the nicest people at Deejay's gas station. We were able to fish and go to the park, and rest and relax! Make sure you bring some bug spray because the bugs were on the loose!! I loved every minute of our vacation! This is an excellent rental I would recommend this home to anyone.

  We stayed the last week in March. Excellent weather, good fishing, excellent time with family. It's an older home, but very clean and comfortable. Well worth a visit. Fished every day, grilled every day. My daughter loved lounging in the Hammock with Harry Potter, and we all enjoyed playing frisbee and our own version of yard hockey in the nice back yard. I kept the boat tied up at the dock when we were not fishing. We saw all sorts of critters...Eagles, Ospreys, Snakes, gators, turtles, huge fish, small fish, wood ducks, cranes, "swamp chickens", etc...We also went and ate at The Pond House...I had an excellent Porterhouse that covered the plate. (we ate here our last night). This was a well enjoyed getaway....Go see for yourself...well worth the visit....

  This is a great place to relax and chill out! It is perfectly located on the lake for easy access to the best fishing spots. There is even great fishing from the dock: You can catch shellcracker and bass during the day and a few crappie at night. This home has a nice big back yard and is perfect for a family get-a-way. You won't be disappointed!

  This was the perfect spot for my husband, sister, dad and I to stay when my family met up at the lake for a reunion this summer. The backyard is enormous and the perfect place for grilling, horseshoes, napping in the hammock, or sitting out by the fire at night to roast marshmallows! The 3 swings are great for sitting and reading or just talking. Two of them are covered for relief from sun or rain. My husband especially enjoyed fishing from the dock, which is very large and equipped with a place to clean fish, as well as room for several boats to tie up to. The house was exceptionally clean, well maintained and equipped with everything you would need for a week's stay. I especially enjoyed having linens and towels provided as well as a washer and dryer when we needed them. The front room, kitchen and dining area are all open-just right for family get togethers. The huge window in the front room shows a lovely view of the lake, which is nice if you have kids or pets playing in the yard and want to sit inside and keep an eye on them. It is also wonderful for rainy afternoons (not uncommon in South Georgia in the summer!). I sat in one rainy afternoon and had a very relaxing time reading while my husband and dad watched a poker tournament on TV! The owners even provide an array of puzzles for you to use! Canoeing (canoe provided), fishing on the lake, and cruising around looking for local wildlife will be favorite activities for anyone. There are several local restaurants nearby which are very good--the Pond House seems to be a local favorite and the little hamburger stand up the road is quite good for a quick bite for lunch. There is also a state park a couple miles up the road with a swimming area for the kids and a good place to water ski and tube. It is a very quick trip by boat as well and this is what my family spent the majority of our time doing. While we were there a junior fishing rodeo and Native American storytelling were taking place. I would recommend this vacation rental for young families, couples, guys' or girls' getaways, older families, or even singles looking for a relaxing time away from the hustle and bustle. Shopping is not too far--Walmart is about 20 miles away and some bigger department stores located in Bainbridge as well, including a Belk's. My husband and I plan on returning this summer for another stay with just the two of us fishing, resting and reading! The owners are wonderful--very accommodating and friendly!

  My family and I had a great time over the Mother's Day weekend. The yard was large enough to play a variety of games with the kids while fishing off of the private dock. We had no problems with the directions provided to us and had a really relaxing weekend that didn't bore my three small children out of their minds. After checking out we stopped in at the state park(which is a very short drive) for a swim before returning home. My mother who was recovering from hip sugery joined as and had a great time as well. The sleeping accommodation were great there are three seperate bedrooms and a fold out couch which we didn't need. My kids actually enjoyed sleeping all in the same room. There were several items avaialbe for use if needed which I thought was a great touch considering that the closest shopping area is about 20 minutes away. As my review title states we are looking forward to returning to this property in the very near future. Just remember to bring cash to the area as I didn't and found myself needing if for a meal out with the family, luckily the resturant owner was kind enough to accept an out of town check.
