SWAN’S NEST (NIDO DE CISNE)

The sound of the waves will lull you to sleep at night and our ocean panorama will greet you every morning. You are vacationing in my very comfortable well equipped and impeccably maintained mexican style "casita." Because it is my home there are many extras available to assure that your vacation is comfortable, convenient, economical and totally enchanting. The "casita" is homey and furnished with many locally handcrafted mexican flavored accessories.

LOCATION
The "casita" on Los Muertos Beach is around the corner from “Blue Chairs” and within easy walking to all the desireable restaurants and activities in the romantic zone, malecon (boardwalk), and historical town center. We are at 307 Amapas, ½ block from the beach just behind and above the new Blue Seas Resort and Spa. Our panoramic view of the bay is constantly engrossing with the comings and goings of cruise ships, the Marigalante, fireworks, whalewatching and parasailors.

APPOINTMENTS
The condo is more than 830 square feet and shares a magnificent deck and pool with Hotel Brisas Del Mar. During the high season a bar and restaurant are located on the hotel deck. Room service is also provided. The private terrace in the condo has tropical flowering plants, large umbrella, awning, handmade table and chairs and a gas bar-b-que. The 15 foot wide terrace doors are antique cedar and etched glass which were salvaged from the beautiful and now defunct Hotel Molino de Agua. The indoor space in the large front room has 4 separate functional areas: living room, kitchen-dining area, office and den/sleeping alcove. This is a large, well thought out, comfortable and homey 1 bedroom condo.

OFFICE
The office includes wireless broadband access (which allows computer generated international phone calls such as SKYPE), desk and mexican telmex line for local vallarta calls and calls throughout mexico. Information useful for your vacation is located in the desk drawers.

LIVING ROOM/KITCHEN/DINING AREA
The living room has a sofa suitable for sleeping, and the room is divided by 2 arches which look out onto the bay. Indeed the bay is omnipresent. The arches and arched windows are decorated in talavera (handmade Mexican) tiles.

KITCHEN
You will enjoy beautiful hand crafted kitchen cabinets, talavera tile covered counters, stainless steel pots, a full stove and oven which has a comal (for heating tortillas) hand painted Mexican dishes and good flatware and all drinking glasses are of mexican glass. Bar-b-que tools, pot holders, plastic storage containers, pitchers, spices, staples, foils and wraps have been provided for your convenience. Small appliances such as coffee grinder, iron, coffee maker, citrus squeezer, etc. are also provided.

ENTERTAINMENT/SLEEPING ALCOVE
The den (TV area and sleeping alcove) has a top of the line (6 inch thick double bed mattress) futon with a German engineered base--it is very comfortable. This area converts to a bedroom by closing the curtains across the archway, opening the double bed size futon bed and turning the entertainment center which is on wheels. This sleeping alcove has its own overhead fan, T.V. and opens onto the patio which overlooks the bay. The entertainment center is on wheels so you can move the TV to watch from the terrace, kitchen, futon, etc.

BEDROOM
The bedroom has a hand crafted wrought iron queen size bed with pillow-top mattress and flat screen TV. The TV has cable service and DVD player. The bedroom is very quiet, which is not easy to find in Mexico. Linens are american quality. Maid service is once a week but more can be arranged with "Kata," our maid. There is ample area to store your possessions in the closets and drawers.

BATHROOMS/VENTILATION
There is a lovely bathroom with shower off the bedroom and a very attractive 1/2 bath with hand painted sink and accessories in the front room. Bathrooms have fans and extractors. In addition to the ceiling fans in the baths and sleeping alcove, there are 4 ceiling fans for your comfort in the large front room. Quiet, contemporary multi-split type air conditioners are in both rooms. You will be very comfortable and with the fans you will probably never need to use the air conditioner.

CONDOMINIUM BUILDING
The building contains 13 condos on 5 floors. I am on the 3rd floor. You can access Calle Amapas directly (and the beach 1/2 block away) by walking down 3 flights. You can access the hotel facilities by walking up 3 flights. In addition to the amazing view from the deck, hotel services including the restaurant, pool, lounge chairs, tables, and umbrellas are included with the condo rental.

Three adults will be very comfortable. A fourth and fifth person would need to share the futon and sleep on the couch.

Owner's Profile

Owner Description

Year Purchased: 2006

Your hosts are Suan Pierce and Lucio Rodriguez. Suan was once a lawyer from Columbia Univ. and Boston College Law, practicing in Miami and Arizona. Lucio was a fisherman and tourist guide born in San Blas Nayarit Mx. We have spent the last 12 years together amusing ourselves with eachother's cultural differences. We love mexico, its people and culture and choose to live here year-round. We spend the winter in San Blas,Nayarit with Lucio's family and the rest of the year in Puerto Vallarta. Today Suan is an artist and sells her paintings in Vallarta.

Why the Owner Chose Romantic Zone

We love Vallarta and were renting here when we found our condo, an "affordable fixer-upper." It was purchased as our "home." Later, after realizing how much some extra cash would help and the money-making potential of our home, we decided to rent it for the winter. Lucio and I go to San Blas, Nayarit Mx. for the winter. This is Lucio's hometown and his family is very large and very close.

The Unique Benefits of this Condominium

You will be relaxing in my home. I am a retired lawyer who likes her comforts. My home may not be luxorious but it is comfortable, attractive and serviceable with a mexican flavor. There are 7 ceiling fans, one in each room and area, security gates on all appropriate doors and windows, awnings and umbrellas for protection from the sun, all sorts of practical extras in the kitchen (staples, spices, sponges, soap, dishtowels, bar-b-que tools and even a phone to use for calls in Mexico).

    • My partner and I had the pleasure of spending 3 months in Suan's lovely home. We couldn't have been more satisfied. It was very clean and comfortable. The casa has a beautiful view of the ocean and it's location to all the town activity is great. We did not need to rent a car the whole time we were here. You can walk to the beach, fine restaurants, and clubs. The breeze off the ocean is always present, day & night. We did not even turn the AC on once. We would certainly recomend this condo to our friends.

    • Suan’s condo was a lovely affordable place to stay. You’re getting to borrow someone’s own comfortable and cozily furnished home. The porch/deck is a wonderful place to hang out, rest, and read on, to greet the morning and watch the sunset from, and look out over the city and the bay. The vibrant life and color of Puerto Vallarta are right outside to enjoy, but in the apartment, several flights up, you are safe and quiet.

    • What a quaint Casa in the heart of old town Puerto Vallarta. We had a great week and basked in the beautiful sun. The condo was great for three of us and Suan was a super host. The condo is half a block to the ocean and close to shops and many wonderful restaurants. The condo is well equipped and we had one wonderful supper cooked on the bbq while we dined on the lovely patio. Gracious Suan.

    • We lucked out getting this condo to rent. Our traveling party consisted of 5 co-workers (bartenders) who desperately needed to get away from it all--work, spouses, kids, and just home responsibilities in general. We had an excellent girls vacation! Suan's home is beautiful, and had everything that we needed and then some. We were very safe there--we never once closed those beautiful patio doors the whole time we were there. We would have never been able to get even a regular old run-of-the- mill boring hotel room with the standard two beds for the price we were charged. Staying at Suan's, we got to stay in a condo that is someone's home decorated like the true Mexican casa that it is. If you have ever vacationed in Vallarta, you understand how wonderful and rare that is. Thank you for your hospitality, Suan! I would recommend you to anyone, and can't wait to stay at your casa again. I think you need to hang a big sign up that says--"Mi Casa y Su Casa" because that's the kind of hospitality that you offer. Thanks Again! Jody M. Lien Moorhead, MN Jody Lien
