Stroll along the beach, play 18 holes of golf, relax by the pool, eat the crab you caught that day, or just curl up on the porch swing with a good book! Our duplex is located in the Wyndham (formerly Fairfield) Ocean Ridge Resort and has outstanding views of a lagoon filled with wildlife. A spacious unit featuring two bedrooms plus a loft, complete with one king bed, one queen bed, and two sets of bunk beds in the loft. Sleeps 8 comfortably. There are 2 full baths, complete with a whirlpool bath in the master, plus a private outdoor shower with hot & cold water - great after a day at the beach! The dining room seats 6 and the adjoining bar includes room for 4 more. The kitchen is fully equipped and is open to the living area. Ceiling fans abound in each bedroom plus the living area and the screened in porch. Plus there’s a washer/dryer. The screened in porch features a great table and a unique swing - all overlooking a quiet lagoon. Perfect for a curling up with a good book!
Gated Community: Located within the Wyndham Ocean Ridge community, you can enjoy 18 holes of golf, a swimming pool, a miniature golf course, a playground, ping pong tables, a workout room, a basketball court, and tennis courts. Plus a shuttle will take you to the private beach cabana where you can rent chairs and umbrellas. There is a small fee to use these amenities.
While we are renting this by owner, the property is managed by a rental company on Palmetto Blvd. Should you have any problems, they are quick to come to your rescue.
Edisto Beach really is a breath of fresh air where you can escape the stresses of everyday life and really relax. Come and enjoy a relaxing low country getaway!
Surrounding Attractions: About one hour from Charleston, South Carolina. Perfect for a day trip to a city that personifies Southern hospitality with a formidable array of preserved plantations, museums and historic sites, including Fort Sumter and the large Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum. Aside from the splendid old homes and endless shops, there are many fine eateries specializing in regional 'low country' cuisine with offerings such as low country boil and shrimp and grits.

We had an extended stay at this townhome which is very pleasant and homey. There weren't many people around during winter so we enjoyed peace and quiet. We were disappointed that the weather stayed too cold for the alligator to show his face in the lagoon right outside our bedroom window - that would have been awesome! The kitchen is well equipped, and the owners' notes throughout the home were very helpful. I would recommend this island home to friends - golfers especially would love this place! The beaches on Edisto are beautiful, sunsets are particularly gorgeous. I am giving 4 stars to my review only because the internet connection was slow and frequently slowed to a stop and the cable television reception was frequently choppy or non existing on channels that worked the day before. Also certain channels would come in on one television, but not on one in another room. While these issues were annoying to us during an extended cold weather visit, warm weather visitors would probably not use the internet or television as much as we did.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: We appreciate the nice review and want to address the internet/tv issue. We upgraded the AT&T internet service over the New Year holiday from their basic service to the next level up. We had no problem operating multiple devices at the same time and receiving large files associated with work. The television service is with Comcast and in the 5-6 years we have owned this unit, we have never experienced the problems described. To be honest, not having issues with Comcast has been surprising, since the reason we've used AT&T for the internet was due to negative comments from other owners on the island regarding the unreliability of Comcast on Edisto as compared to their service inland. Nevertheless, we will certainly look into and stress test both (i.e., use a lot of internet and watch a lot of tv!) when we return in May, prior to the upcoming rental season. And we are sorry that our long term renters had this problem.

There were 9 of us (4 adults/5 children) that just got back from a week at 781 Summerwind Villa in Edisto Beach. It was a wonderful vacation! The villa is just as the pictures and the open kitchen to the dinining and living areas is great. The resort is very nice and the beaches are gorgeous. The entire area is very laid back and we were able to do a lot of relaxing. The kids enjoyed the pools, putt-putt, watching the dolphins, and especially the beach. All visitors should take time to visit the Botany Bay Planation Beach - breathtaking. Our favorite places to eat were McKonkey's Jungle Cafe and Sea Cow Eatery. We hope to return to Edisto again. Thanks to the owners for a great place to stay.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Your home is lovely! We have been vacationing here for about 20 years and have stayed in other Summerwind units, but your's is the the nicest we have stayed in so far. We have stayed in a number of house or condo vacation rentals over the years. This is, without exception, the most comfortable and homey of these accomdations we have experienced. I am especially fussy about my bed - it is hard to enjoy a vacation when you aren't able to sleep well. I would have liked to have take the bed in the master bedroom home with me. The kitchen is well equipped. The owner has left helpful notes throughout so that you don't have to figure out how everything works. Edisto Beach, itself, is a great place for a vacation. The golf course is challenging for a skilled player, while my wife, who is just taking up the game, found it manageable and enjoyable as well. The beach is not far away. We found that the nearby Dockside Restaurant was the best place for fresh seafood - you don't want to miss it. All in all I haighly recommend this property.Did you find this review helpful? About the owner: We are native southerners, currently living near Nashville, TN. My husband is an avid golfer, and although I prefer the beach I enjoy an occasional round of golf myself. My husband says that Edisto is the only place he can go on vacation and truly relax. Enough said.
Why the Owner Chose Edisto Beach:
Our neighbors in Tennessee own a beach house at Edisto and for five years, the moms and their daughters all managed to get away for a week during the summer to enjoy Edisto Beach. After that fifth year, I told my husband that a new restaurant had opened within the Wyndham resort and that the area reminded me of a place his mom had once owned. We went back to SC at the end of that summer and bought our condo. We've never once regretted it. Our entire family just loves Edisto Beach.
