Why the Owner Chose South Haven
The entire west coast of Michigan offers many excellent small towns. However, South Haven has more to offer in terms of restaurants, bars, shopping, etc. Our home is close to the ammenities of downtown plus the beach so it is a perfect fit for us.
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage
There is nothing more relaxing than sitting on the second level of the back deck and watching the boats on the nearby Black River. Also, the close proximaty to the beach and downtown allows you to leave your car in the driveway for the entire vacation.

My wife and I always dreamed of owning a home in South Haven and in 2007 we found the perfect house for our family. The home is over 100 years old and has many historic features. However, it has been completely gutted and rehabbed so it has the feel of a brand new house. We take tremendous pride in making the house as beautiful as possible both inside and out and you will discover that our home is not your typical vacation rental. I hope that you will bring your family to our home and create many wonderful memories as we do each time we visit South Haven.

We spent a long weekend here with our 10 month old, and another couple and their baby. It was within short walking distance of the adorable downtown, lighthouse, and beach. The place was clean, well stocked and super comfortable for our visit. We would definitely stay here again!

We had a fantastic week-long vacation. We travelled with our 10-month old child to South Haven, and just as advertised, we were able to leave our car parked all week. It was a short walk to the beach and to the downtown shopping district. We spent a huge portion of our time strolling and enjoying the beautiful scenery and weather. Prior to our stay, the proprietor contacted us to answer questions and give recommendations (restaurants, shops, etc), which we appreciated and enjoyed during our week in South Haven. The house was spacious, clean and thoughtfully supplied. We prepared most of our meals at the house using the kitchen and the grill. I would absolutely recommend this property to a friend!

We rented this for a girls weekend. Fabulous location - steps to downtown & beach (restaurants, cute shops & bars). This home is perfectly set up for a group of girls or even 2 families. Comfortable, simple & lovely. Definitely a place we will come to again!

LOVE IT!! This is going to be our annual rental cottage for our girls weekend!!!! The pictures online do not do justice for this house. There was so much room and everything is beautifully decorated!! Towels, dishes, washer and dryer, coffee pot...everything was there!! We were walking distance from local shops, restaurants and BARS!! I would recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a cute house to stay at that is close to everything!! The owners were more than happy to answer any questions that we had and were great! Also the price for rental is VERY resonable!! Looking forward to our girls trip next year!!

My husband and I loved to visit South Haven on nice days when we lived in MI. Now that we live out of state we wanted to share that with our children. This house is very clean, light and airy, and well maintained. The decorations are perfect for a beach house with out being cheesy. The kitchen is well stocked and very beautiful. The beds are comfortable. We didn't want to go home.

Even though this beautiful cottage is only 2 hours away, as soon as I entered, I was on a far away vacation! Sitting on the upper deck off the master bedroom, I could hear the lake and see the channel lined with boats and cottages. The town is a block away with an aray of great restaurants and quaint little shops for treasures not found anywhere else. Best mothers day I've ever had. The evening walk along the lake...with a cup of hot coco bought right there on the beach! LOVE MY NEW VACATION SPOT!!!!

We rented the South Haven cottage so we can visit the Tulip fest in Holland which is a 20 minutes drive. No crowds, no congestion. The cottage is a page out of House Beautiful magazine. Impeccably clean and thoughtfully stocked. It will be the first choice for me whenever I visit this region. The owner was extremely prompt with communications which made the whole deal that much more pleasant.
