A very lovely home. Property was in a nice neighborhood right around the corner from the police station. Owner was very helpful and even sent a weather warning while we were staying at the property. Property is near college so we were able to drive through college while we were there with our kids to show them what a larger college looked like. We drove to Metro station because we had our car but it is fairly close (but after a long day of walking in DC it was nice to drive the short distance back to the house). Plenty of items in house for your use (but we always bring our own just to be sure). Neighbors were very pleasant. Our kids are USTA tennis players so we used High School and college courts nearby (high school and college students very nice and helpful). Grocery stores were ok in immediate vicinity so we drove about 15 minutes away to the whole foods nearby. Our friends who were also in DC and stuffed the family of 6 into a hotel were envious of our large accommodations (and we spent less too!). If house is available when we return we would stay at this home again.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, pet owners, girls getaway.

The property was beautiful and the house was as described in the listing. We arrived at the house the weekend after a hurricane and my husband had to clean up the yard so our son could play in it. Although we had a wonderful time at the house, we stayed the first week of September and received our deposit check back on November 23.Recommended for: Families with young children.

My family and I stayed at Marcia's house, and have decided to name it the "Pottery Barn" house! It was a beautifully appointed house with gorgeous antiques and furniture pieces. The home was quite comfortable and spacious. We had a wonderful BBQ, where both young and old had fun! The elders enjoyed sitting in the sun room sipping on wine, as the wee ones were out running around in the beautiful gardens trying to catch fireflies! Marcia and her husband were attentive to all of our needs and answered all of our many questions. Thank you for sharing your lovely home!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

My friend and I stayed in Marcia's house for 4 weeks in January 2011 while attending a training course. Her house was great. It has all you need for an extended stay: 4 bedrooms, fast WiFi, cable, washer/dryer, fully stocked kitchen, bikes in garage, etc. The neighborhood is extremely safe. We walked the 0.6 miles to the Metro station at all hours of the night. It is very close to the Univ of MD that has plenty of restaurant options. You can live here with or without a rental car. It's easy to get to the Metro subway stop on foot or bike which is what we did for 4 weeks. If you had a rental car it'd be even easier. Marcia, the owner, is extremely responsive to any problems. A large snow/ice storm hit the area while we were there and she always instantly answered her phone to handle any problem we had with the house. Our hot water heater was not working well and she had a plumber out to fix it within a few hours. A true 5-star rating for this house.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.

This was a lovely home. When we arrived, it had a welcome feeling with the lights on and the airconditioning. Everything we needed was there. The neighborhood was quiet and near the metro for our trips into DC. The owner answered all of my questions with a quick friendly response. We ate in DC so didn't try any local restaurants but did see some that looked nice. If I came to the area again,I would plan to stay in this home and would recommend it to anyone traveling that way. It was very clean and nicely decorated. Everything was just as stated on VRBO.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, pet owners, families with young children.
