View of Room - Washington, DC Vacation Rental About the Firehouse: Built in 1885, the upstairs is completely renovated with central heat and air. The living room is unbelievably enormous at 30 feet by 27 feet with 18-foot ceilings. The walls are adorned with many artworks, and there is a pool table in one corner. The dining room is spacious, and the walls are lined with the original firehouse lockers. The kitchen is large with a center island and a hint of French country flavor. There is only one bathroom, but following suit with the rest of the house, it is large and still has the original trough sink and tub. You can view pictures of the firehouse on our website. Except for your room and the bathroom, the rest of the space (kitchen, livingroom, and dinning room) are shared with the owner, who is a local light sculptor. His studio is on the first floor of the firehouse, so during the day he will be in and out of the upstairs. Located on R St. NW in historic Shaw, you are just a short walk away from the nightlife and restaurants of the 14th Street corridor and the U Street corridor. There are two grocery stores within walking distance: Giant on 9th, and Whole Foods six blocks away on P Street. The Shaw/Howard green line stop is about a block away, and buses run all around making commuting a breeze. If you own a car, parking is plentiful and the street directly across from the firehouse is un-zoned. The room itself is 17.5 feet by 12 feet with 18-foot ceilings. Rent is $135 a night with a two-night minimum. If you are interested in the room please either send an email to the email address below or call the number below. For parties of 4-6 people there is the option of renting out the entire upstairs of the firehouse for $315 a night. This gives you two bedrooms with queen beds, and a futon in the living room, and 2500 square feet of space. The owner will be in and out briefly during the day since the downstairs is his working studio, but after 6pm you will have the entire place to yourself. When responding please specify if you would like to rent just the one room or the entire upstairs. For parties staying 3 nights or more there will be an additional cleaning fee of $50. Also since this space is also rented for parties, if you intend to have additional guests over while you are a guest with us, please let us know ahead of time and we can work out an arrangement. Cancellations made within 14 days will receive full amount back less deposit

Deposit will be returned within 14 days of departure if there is no damage/loss to
the room or property. $50 cleaning fee for stay over 3 nights
