Kuhio Shores is ocean front in beautiful Poipu on the Kauai`s South Shore. This is a location of magnificent sunsets, where you may watch surfers and sea turtles from your lanai or snorkel and surf at Lawai Beach right next door. Prince Kuhio Park is located across the street. Kuhio Shores is roughly a 5-minute walk from Baby Beach, a unique, quiet beach that`s fun for kids.
You`ll enjoy the sound of the ocean from every room in these vacation rentals. Cook dinner in the fully equipped kitchen and dine on the lanai or visit the
Beach House Restaurant next door for a Pacific Rim food experience with locally grown ingredients.
All of Kuhio Shores vacation condos are accessible by elevators and have easy access to free parking.
Not far down the road is Allerton Garden (L?wa`i Kai) managed by the National Tropical Botanical Gardens (NTBG). This garden paradise has been transformed via the hands of an Hawaiian Queen, a sugar plantation magnate and, most significantly, an artist and an architect. A series of garden rooms unfold between the L?wa`i Stream and the cliffs of the Valley. The sound of water is in abundance in pools, miniature waterfalls, and fountains. Towering rainforest trees with tall curving roots grow near bronze mermaids, a grove of swaying golden bamboo, a cut-flower garden, and tropical fruit trees. Here, the focus is on landscape design, but among the plantings are botanically important species of the tropics, including varieties of palms, ki (ti), heliconias, orchids, and gingers. Nearby, 252-acre McBride Garden, also managed by NTBG, has the largest collection of native Hawaiian plants in the world.
Across the road from the garden`s Visitors Center is Spouting Horn. This is where water from the waves shoot several stories into the air through a blow-hole in the lava rock. Souvenir shoppers can also hit the arts and crafts market in the park.
From Kuhio Shores, you can also walk to Kukui`ula Shopping Center within 15 minutes. There you will find a variety of shops and restaurants and the Wednesday afternoon Farmer`s Market.

The car is not free we had to pay, that. Is misleading. The condo is very comfortable. Lights over the kitchen didn't work but there were others that gave us enough light. The welcome package was a nice touch, useful. The sunrises from the balcony are beautiful and the sound of sea just wonderful. We found ourselves feeling very at home in this condo.jjust would like to add that maybe basics as salt and pepper could be provided too. The fridge was so loud we had to turn it down as it kept us awake. I know there is not a lot of room and possibility to move it but it is not favorable, the owner offers soaps and hair products which is very sweet. I amused to staying in condos that has washing facilities in the condo.there is a washroom in the building that offers you the possiblity of washing/drying for 11/2 dollars so it is cheap. The BBQ is next to the bins for everyone to use, not nicely situated but free rouse and take back to your condo afterwards. I know I have been negative on some points but these are easily rectified or live able. I'd go back to kuhio shores because of where it's situated, but next time. Would split some time with the north shore too, it's a stunning area. Appreciated the free Wi Fi, file of advice of where to go and the response to questions before we left were quickly answered. Kauai is a stunning island, my favourite.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

When we first walked in, we were so impressed with the quality of all the furnishings and the setup of the apt. Everything was first class. Then the view grabbed us and we knew this is going to be an awesome vacation. The sound of the ocean was like a lullaby and the bed was so comfortable, so that every night was a good night's rest. You could tell that your comfort was what Great Vacations Retreat was concerned with. The icing on the cake was seeing the giant sea turtles from the balcony. We watched them everyday. The only problem we had was leaving.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

About the owner: Aloha~ Thank you for viewing my properties! My name is Amy Grant and I own a boutique vacation management company in Kauai called Great Vacation Retreats. I happily work and reside in Kauai and have been managing vacation rentals on the Garden Isle for almost 4 years. Married to my husband Scott for 6 years and we have a beautiful little girl named Presley. When we aren't busy chasing her around we enjoy going to the beach, cooking and traveling. I love working with my guests to find the perfect place for them to call home while on vacation. It can be overwhelming trying to pick out the right property - I can help. My staff and myself take great pride in the properties we manage and believe that we truly have some of the best properties the island has to offer. We have been in each property numerous times and stayed in most so that we can give you an accurate description of what the properties amenities are, distances to the beach, sightseeing, restaurants, etc. We can also help you with any activities you might be interested in while on island such as surfing lessons, private boat charters, guided hikes, stand up paddling, personal chef, childcare and much more! Mahalo for looking:)
Why the Owner Chose Kuhio Shores:
My husband and I were married at Kee Beach on the North Shore and visited the island several times after. We used to manage vacation rentals in Lake Tahoe and many of the owners also owned property in Kauai and asked if we would be interested in starting a business here. After a couple of years we finally made the move and have been blissfully happy every since. The island has so much natural beauty and outdoor activities yet it still doesn't have that 'big resort' feel. It is a great safe place for children and also makes for a perfect honeymoon or anniversary destination.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
There are so many outdoor activities to enjoy here - going to the beach, surfing, stand up paddling, horseback riding, hiking, sightseeing, taking a boat charter along the Napali Coast, kayaking, camping, biking, etc.
I enjoy getting a spa treatment at the Anara Day Spa at the Hyatt. If you enjoy going to the spa their facial is perfect.
My husband and I met at culinary school and consider ourselves 'foodies'. We love the Kilauea Bakery for a great cup of coffee and the bialys are amazing (stuffed bagels). Some other restaurants that we enjoy are Josselins, the Kalaheo Café, Postcards, Roy’s, Tip Top Café and Kauai Pasta just to name a few. There are some wonderful farmers markets here and fish markets (Hanalei Dolphin is the best) with their fresh local catches of the day. Ahi is of course an island favorite and can be found at many of the restaurants throughout the island.
Whale watching is from December - March and is quite a sight to see.
Some of the best golf courses in the US are located in Kauai.
We work with some activity providers that provide personalized hikes and activities that are 'off the beaten path' and truly show you what Kauai has to offer.
