We just spent 7 days between the Lupe and Frida apartments. Location-wise: Excellent! We were within easy walking distance to many of the most popular tourist sites. For example, it was about a 15-20 stroller ride to Chapultepec Park. (If you aren't walking with a child, you could certainly go faster). Advice to future travellers: Paseo de la Reforma cuts the park in two. You must walk on the central portion of Reforma (or the left-most side) in order to get to the Castillo de Chapultepec, for example. Location-wise, food: Really quite good! Rio Lerma has many, many cafes within 5-6 blocks of the apartment (walking away from Chapultepec Park). We were delighted to happen upon a Japanese bakery, two salad-specialty cafes, Italian cafes, and two highly-rated taco shops as well as many other options. The Oxxo (think 7-11) directly below the apartments makes it easy to buy water and snacks at any hour. Lupe Apartment: We originally selected the Lupe so that we could put our toddler to sleep at one end of the apt and us at the other. However, when we arrived we found out that the Lupe apartment does not have doors between the rooms. (There is a door that separates the bathroom from the bedroom, as well as a door to the standing-room-only kitchen - but there are no other doors that separate the other rooms.) Note that the Lupe apt does have a larger bathroom and is one floor higher (so a little less street noise). Ana suggested we switch to the Frida (which we did as soon as we were able figure out the finicky door lock ---if you stay in the Frida know that its doorknob must turnthe OPPOSITE direction from the other doorknobs). *Note to MexicoApts: it would be really helpful if there was a way to contact someone on the weekends. We had to stay in the Lupe two more nights because we had no one to help clarify for us why we couldn't get into the Frida with the instructions we were given.* Frida Apartment: This ended up being a better fit for two parents and a toddler as the Frida does have a door that separates the living room from the bedroom. The Frida kitchen is also larger than the Lupe kitchen. If you don't have the right kind of kitchen implement in your kitchen, just ask Ana or her colleagues as each apartment seems to have its own strengths. The Frida did seem to have more variety of kitchen implements (perhaps due to its larger kitchen size?). Check in and check out were very easy. We got our security deposit about a week after we returned home

I just spent two weeks in apartment Frida and loved it. The apartments are large enough to allow different rooms for different uses. They are clean, equipped with the basics for kitchen cooking, a comfortable bed, TV, WiFi, and even a small space heater to take the edge off those chilly days. Located in a very safe part of Mexico FD, with a subway that you can get to within a few minutes walk. Mexico has a great Subway system that will take you to almost any part of the city you want to get to, for very little money. The food shopping can be a challenge, but supermarkets and a Mercado are identified by the owners for your convenience. Lots of restaurants are within a few steps of the building, and more within a few blocks, so the selection of eating options is everything from the street Taco Stands, to some local very affordable restaurants, to the more elaborate options. You will not lack for options. I would not hesitate to recommend this company and it's facilities to anyone who likes to have their own apartment for when they are traveling. Friendly and helpful staff are only an email or phone call away. Happy travels everyone.

Owner response: As Dennis described, the apartments are simple, have all the equipment for a comfortable stay, and are extremely well located. We strive to attend to our guests needs, and welcome any suggestions to improve our service. Our goal is that our guests go back home happy and with a good impression of Mexico and our apartments.

My husband and I stayed 6 nights in the Frida apt. and loved the location which was safe and wonderfully convenient. We walked in the neighborhood a lot--day and night--and always felt safe; there's a great variety of good places to eat nearby. The apt. is just 2 or 3 blocks north of the Reforma and once we moved our suitcases in, we usually took the metro or bus around. When we did take a cab, we asked the driver to let us off on the Reforma by the fountain of Diana Cazadora (the Greek goddess Diana the huntress, with her bow and arrow) because everyone knows where that is and with a lot of one way streets in the neighborhood, drivers seemed to have difficulty navigating to our corner. It was a short and pleasant walk; I just mention that as a tip to others. The apt. was clean and had everything we needed. I could see from the pictures that it was "color-deprived" (OK, Zen, minimalist) and in a country so full of color, that bugged me so I bought some paper flowers and a few other things to liven it up--things we're enjoying at home now! We arrived in Mex. City on a Friday evening and found the internet service in the apt. was down and we didn't know how to use all the locks on the apt. door. We called for assistance and had to leave a voice message. On Monday, helpful staff called back and all was promptly fixed. Having someone reachable over the weekend would be really nice, esp. for folks arriving then. The bed is huge and comfy; it takes up almost the entire bedroom! I'd personally prefer a queen size bed with a dresser, desk or at least room for a luggage rack. (We put our suitcases on the floor in the dining room because we weren't staying long enough to unpack them.) We had a friend stay with us one night and the management fixed the sofa up as a bed for her. (The bathroom is off the bedroom so it's best for a couple.) Bedroom is interior and we were never bothered by street noise. The laundry downstairs is very reasonable and they did a good job. The bldg. is OK for 55+ if steps are not a problem; there's no elevator. I'd stay there again and would recommend it to friends for sure!

It was the perfect location, close to everything we wanted to see, and it was clean and light and very comfortable. This city charmed me and I really enjoyed my whole trip, which was in large part due to the wonderful apartment. The purveyors were helpful and the whole process ran smoothly from start to finish. I even recommended Mexico Apartments to a friend who recently moved to Mexico City so she could give the information to visiting family members. Seriously. This place is great.

Mexico apartments provides refuge and escape from the hustle of a big city in a safe and beautiful environment. The apartment building is located in a very safe area that is centrally located. A short walk to Chapultepec Park, great variety of restaurants and world class hotels. Site taxis one block away outside of Torre Major. Metro station 1 block away. Pharmacy one block away. The building itself has a great laundry service on the main floor, beauty salon and a 24hour OXXO convenience store. We stayed in the Pita apartment and found the decor very zen and minimalist. Tastefully decorated. While the traffic activity in that area begins at 6:30am, it ends at 8pm. The building is very secure and quiet. If you want to experience life in Mexico city, I would recommend Mexico Apartments. It truly is a home away from home. Any questions or problems were quickly attended to by Ana. We truly enjoyed our stay of 2weeks.

Owner response: Thank you very much for such a good review, Emma. You were a wonderful guest, and we hope you come back again! Best Regards, Ana

We really enjoyed our stay the the Frida because it was very clean, safe, and centrally located. It's walking distance from the metro with many great restaurants just a couple of blocks away. If needed, there's a large hotel (St. Regis) just a block away for you to go to make arrangements for a cab. As mentioned already by other reviewers, there's a 24hr convenience store right downstairs from the apt for water, snacks, and Pepto-Bismol. =) There's a supermarket nearby (about a 15min walk) that you can go to stock up on fruits, wine, cheese, snacks, etc. We will definitely go back to Mexico Apts on our next trip to Mexico City. It's so much better than staying at a hotel.

A comfortable and clean apartment in a great location. I stayed in the Frida and loved it. In the past, I have stayed at a hotel near the Zocalo. This location is better. It is nicer to walk around at night and there are more things to do. It is wonderfully close to el Bosque de Chapultepec and the Zona Rosa. The hosts were very nice, professional and accommodating. More space and more convenient than a hotel.

We just spent a great week in Mexico City and completely enjoyed our stay in the "Frida" Apt. It was roomier than a typical hotel room, nicely laid-out and furnished, and conveniently located close to the Reforma, Chapultepec Park, the Zona Rosa, the Metro, and great restaurants. Plus, we liked having a kitchen for midnight snacks after enjoying the city's great nightlife and for making coffee the next morning. We're recommending Mexico City and Mexicoapartments to all our friends and family.

We had a wonderful stay in Nauhui apartment on the 3rd floor in December! We stayed in Mexico City for 9 days and are so happy that we chose MexicoApartments! We normally stay in traditional hotels but this time decided to rent an apartment because we were traveling with our young daughter. The apartment had everything we needed, was tastefully decorated and very cute! It even had a cable (or satellite?) tv that had a nice variety of channels in English. The building is located in a very quite and safe area within just a short walk to Reforma, Chapultepec Park and other attractions; With an “OXXO” convenience store and a couple of VERY good restaurants downstairs, we couldn’t have wished for a better place to stay in Mexico City. After this vacation, we will never stay in a small, overpriced hotel room again!

My husband & I stayed in the Frida apt in November, 2008. We found the apartment to be nicely decorated, very clean & secure. The bed was very comfortable! Nice neighborhood with a variety of restaurants in the area; a convenient 24-hour store on the ground level. The apt was perfect for 2 people, and much more economical & roomy than a hotel room. The location was great as well -- walking distance to Reforma, Chapultapec Park & museums. The Metro was also close by and very easy to use to get to other parts of the city. We enjoyed our stay in this great city and would definitely stay at Mexico Apts again!

Everything in the Nahui, 4th floor apartment was sufficient for our 3 night stay in Mexico City. It was comfortable and the theme was very 'minimalist' and interesting. The location was great and the building secure. There was a short walk to the subway, restaurants, and Reforma Ave. The renters were available to us and offered assistance as needed. But, of course, we were off trying to do and see everything. My friend and I would definitely stay at Mexico Apartments for future stays. We also would not hesitate to recommended to friends, family and YOU :o)

We had a wonderful stay in Mexico City in the Nahui unit of MexicoApartments. The apartment has a contemporary and comfortable style (think Ikea, but better quality and more unique), with a small kitchen and very comfortable beds. The location is fantastic, close to la Reforma and a reasonable walk to the Metro. It is in a great neighborhood, with a 24hr Oxxo downstairs and lots of great restaurants within a few blocks, including a couple of nice cafe's that were better than any hotel restaurant for breakfast.
