Front Yard view - Carpinteria Travel Accommodations Carpinteria may be the loveliest small beach town on the west coast according to the Wall Street Journal. It is truly picture perfect. The beach is beautiful, clean and safe. The people are friendly and helpful. And virtually every thing one could ask for is within walking distance! Even a famous surfing spot is easily accessible. Our home is a vintage Craftsman era cottage built in the 1920's was originally built as a beach cottage which was then moved to its present location 50 years ago. It has now been totally renovated by the owners in keeping with the Craftsman Style. The bedrooms are good sized and comfortable, two have queen size beds and there are 3 twin beds as well as lots of closet space. The kitchen is fully equipped and functional, with all utensils provided. There is a large living room with vintage board and batten walls, two bay windows, period light fixtures and a gas log fireplace. The property has a beautiful yard and the price includes a gardener and a cleaning service one-half day per week. All linens, towels, etc. are included. A lovely old fashioned back porch with a porch swing is just out the back door facing the rear garden. A fun spot to hang out in the evening with your root beer float or to play a game of hearts.... The property is located one block east of Linden Ave., which is Carpinteria's main shopping/restaurant area and primary access road to the beach. It is 5 blocks (less than a 10 minute walk) from the Carpinteria city beach and a State Park. There is easy access to all stores (several nice antique shops)and the wonderful weekly farmer's market which is loaded with fresh flowers fruit and avocados grown in Carpinteria. The History Museum, library, public swimming pool and city day camp at the beach, estuary and bird sanctuary are all very nearby. There are also wonderful bike and walking paths along the bluffs that pass by a monitered seal haul out with a docent that will be pleased to educate you about the site and seals. The movie theater is 3 blocks away. Most everything Carpinteria has to offer is within walking distance. This is a great house for old fashioned family fun!
