A perfect getaway!

I had a really wonderful experience at the guesthouse last weekend! The house is quiet, secluded, and tasteful, as advertised, and is located in the most gorgeous of settings. Despite the best of intentions, my boyfriend and I spent most of our time simply relaxing in the sun on the huge deck overlooking the mountains with our feet up! However, if you can pull yourself away there is also great hiking as well as beaches nearby, not to mention fun shopping in town and lovely coastal drives. Although you feel completely "away from it all" there are terrific restaurants in the Village just a few minutes away. Rogers was so responsive and helpful and really wanted our experience to be "the best" (which it was). The price is an incredible bargain--the view and sense of solitude will blow you away. I can't recommend the guesthouse more highly and will definitely be back.

Great Stay in Carmel Valley

My fiancee and I enjoyed a wonderful relaxing long weekend at the guest house. Waking up in the morning, making a cup of tea, and looking out at the view was refreshing and just what we needed. Location is great, with easy access to the village, Carmel, Big Sur, and all surrounding areas. Our hosts were perfect - welcomed us warmly and left us to ourselves to enjoy the peaceful environment. The guest house has clearly been given love and care and it's in great shape - clean, with everything in working order, and just a fabulous place to stay for a few days. Highly recommended!

My husband and I stayed here for my birthday...wow..the view is incredible, the stone shower is so cool!!!! The furnishings are nice, modern and clean! Beautiful remodel job on this place!! From the Christo's in the dining room, Norah Jones in the CD, to the down pillows..I highly recommend this place for anyone wanting privacy & peace!! The Carmel valley is simply stunning and your a short drive from the most beautiful coastline in the World!! World class golf, world class beaches, world class shopping, world class dining. Or you can just visit the local farmers market, go back to your private little piece of heaven with a bottle of wine, and plop yourself down on the deck and bask in the glory that is this sweet little hideaway! We will be back......

Total Relaxation!

My husband and I stayed here from May 30 - June 7. It was love at first sight! It was our home base for exploring the Monterey Penninsula, which was terrific. Even when the weather was a bit cool and cloudy in Carmel by the Sea, it was sunny and warm when we returned home! We had our morning coffee each day on the deck overlooking the most gorgeous vistas. Had dinner a couple of nights at Wickets at Bernardus Lodge, which was a 3 or 4 minute drive away. Also had dinner at Cafe Rustica in the village which was great. The house itself was lovely, comfortable and clean. We had such a nice stay that we had a hard time leaving, but plan to return again!

We spent 3 nights over Valentines weekend and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. It was sunny all weekend and we had lingering breakfasts on the deck. The views are breathtaking and the valley is peaceful. One of the best bathrooms I've enjoyed - the shower has a great window looking at the secluded hill. I would recommend this lovely guest house to anyone who wants to get away and relax.

Imagine driving through rolling hills, covered in farms, vines, and forests. You take a turn onto a small country road, head up the hill a bit, and park at a landing with an overlook. You find your way up to the house with a deck overlooking the majestic wooded valley. Inside an oasis of modernity awaits you. Design influenced by Banksy and Christo; a perfectly functional kitchen; comfy couch and a small flat screen TV (trust me, the forest/valley views will be much more alluring!); and a gorgeous slate-covered bathroom with modern basin sink. Truly, the photos don't do the bathroom justice; gorgeous work! Your home away from home, 20 mins to Carmel.

We really enjoyed our stay in Carmel over the 4th of July weekend, largely in part due to this gem of a guesthouse. Our favorite part was the absolutely incredible view from the living area and wrap around porch. The interior is also great -- new, modern and very well kept. Also, we loved eating at Wickets at Benardus Lodge just down the road. Thanks again for such a great stay.

I got to know the Hawley family on a trip to South America and went to visit. I stayed two nights in the guesthouse which was a fantastic experience. Quiet, great views, nice little kitchen area and I loved the bathroom and the shower with its huge window looking out onto the hillside. The big sun deck was a great place to chill out with a book and watch the sun set along the Carmel valley. I can't wait to visit again.

Perfect stay, wonderful views, and very quite but close to Carmel Valley Rd. Deer came right up to the back of the house. Right around the corner from Wickets Bistro at Bernardus where we enjoyed dinner (and their fireplace). Great wineries in town! Fantastic oysters at The Fish House (and don't forget the cheese shop). We'll stay here from now on when in Carmel!

The guest house was perfect for us - very quiet, about 11 miles up Carmel Valley and out of the buzz of Carmel. There was privacy, spectacular views and a beautiful setting. The guest house itself was very well done and nicely situated. Staying there was an extremely positive experience for us.

Me and my wife spent two nights at the Guest house, and didnt want to leave. Love the place. The living room has an attached kitchenette which was great. Wonderful unobstructed view from the living room looking out to the valley. The bathroom is something else. It has a large glass window looking out at the hillside and its just a wonderful experience. I would recommend this guest house for anyone needing a romantic getaway. Monterey and Carmel are a short 15-20 mins drive out. For some outdoor activities, there is lots of hiking around the area, with Point Lobos a 30 min drive away. For a day trip, you can also drive down highway 1 south to Big Sur. Overall, 5 star.
