This house was fabulous. Clean, well stocked and great mountain views. The owners were very nice to work with. We drove to Monarch each day to ski. The drive is about 30 minutes so this is a great location to be near restaurants, downtown and skiing.

It was a great house - we loved the views and had a wonderful time. The owner's suggestion places to get good and healthy food in area were perfect. We loved the Ploughboy for locally grown fruits and vegetables. We cooked at the house often and found the kitchen was really well set up.Also loved Laughing Ladies Cafe and the Cantina by the river. The house has a great layout and the entire place was very spacious and inviting. It definitely met our expectations.

We stayed in this house last week. It was our second trip to Salida so we're getting to know the area well. The house is in a great location with very nice views. It's in excellent condition and matches the pictures. The owners know how to manage rentals very well which avoids hassles we've had in other rental houses.

We stayed in mid-June for five days and had a terrific experience. The house was perfect for us (four adults, three children ages 11, 6 and 4). There are plenty of spaces in the house to retreat to if you feel you need some quiet time. The kitchen and dining area were quite serviceable to our needs; we were able to cook up some great meals. We spent a day soaking at Valley View Hot Springs just south of Villa Grove (interesting place because it's clothing optional), some time shopping in Salida and enjoying the charm, and an afternoon at the Aquatic Center which is very nice, especially if you have kids in tow. The menfolk opted to hike up Shivano one day (a 9-11 hour adventure) and we all hiked together in the Chalk Cliffs on Princeton. We've spent much time in the BV area, but had never stayed in Salida - glad we did. It's a beautiful Colorado mountain town. The house more than met our needs and the amazing views were a treat. Thanks for a great stay!

This was our second stay at the owner's home. We loved being familiar with the community and the home and it's features. We'd choose this place again. No problem getting around with snow covered streets either. House is clean, cute, comfortable and well maintained. Views are gorgeous.

This property was great for my whole family. The house is so spacious with so many different levels. There's a place for everyone to be comfortable together or to get away from each other. Everything was very clean and organized. We loved the convenient location and enjoyed watching such tame mule deer every morning and afternoon right outside the door. We loved the very homey atmosphere and working with such nice owners that went above and beyond to accomodate us.

We ended our Colorado holiday in this house and it was wonderful. The views from the deck are truly magnificant especially at sunset. The house is very comfortable and everything you could need is provided. It is nice to be near Salida but to have the quietness of the countryside. We hope to be back.

This house met all of our families expectations. 1. 2 minute drive to the wonderful town of Salida. 2. Central location to all the outdoor activities of Colorado. We drove to Canon City for rafting, to the Great Dunes National Park, horseback riding at Chalk Cliffs, hiking at Monarch Mountain, close to fly fishing and more. 3. Deer wander by the house every afternoon 4. House has all the amenities of home and more. Great deck to watch sunsets with a grill and patio furniture. Wireless internet, dishwasher, washer and dryer. Clean. I would recommend this house to anyone vacationing in this area.

We love Salida and always stay in this home when we visit. It's clean, comfortable, and filled with fun amenities for kids like a basketball hoop and table hockey. Deer wander through the yard in the morning and at dusk. Walk down to the end of the road and feed ducks and geese in the lake. Bike into town or take a quick five-minute car ride. It's perfect.

We stayed over Spring Break and loved our time at this house. The adults loved eating out on the deck with the fabulous view of the mountains, and the kids had plenty to keep themselves occupied, even finding the energy to play basketball most nights after skiing. The house's location is great, just a few minutes from downtown Salida. House was immaculate upon arrival and everything was as promised in the listing. Lots of room for everyone to spread out!! The owners couldn't have been more helpful and easier to work with.

This is an immaculately clean and comfortable house -- I highly recommend it. In addition to the usual amenities, there is a basketball hoop and horseshoes. We relaxed on the deck and took long walks up the road. We also enjoyed the herds of deer that wandered through. Town is a very quick five-minute drive away. A great house for a big family.

Dave & Mary, Thank you for the use of your home. Wehad a woderful vacation and enjoyed your place. The location was great. We rafted 2 days, zip-lined,4-wheeled, hiked, went to the Hot springs, and enjoyed the town.It was so nice to come back in the evenings and grill out on your deck. What a nice breeze. You were right about not needing air-conditioning.How I wish it were like that in Iowa1 The views were great also. There was one deer that we thought was going to ask to move in he was there so much! We would love to stay again sometime and will recommend your place to anyone we know who is going out your way. Thanks again, Jan

We stayed for a week and had a great time. The house had everything you need to feel right at home. We went during the summer to allow us to get into everything summer. We went rafting, four wheeling, hiking, biking, and rode the zip line. Pretty much everything there was to do from our perspective. We rented a Jeep from Rocky Mountain Jeep Rentals and went over 5 passes in one day. They were great as far as helping set up a day long trek that covered everything we wanted to see. The house was great and the owners were very helpful and ready to offer local tips to help make the stay as comfortable as possible. All in all, a great place to visit with a wonderful place to stay.

We stayed for our daughter's wedding in Salida. It was perfect for the occasion. With all the chaos of a wedding it was wonderful to have a place that felt like "home" to get ready and then to relax after the event. We were able to have special family come for a BBQ the next day and just sit on the deck and visit. The owners were wonderful to work with and very nice folks. We would recommend a stay in Salida at this home to anyone wanting a truly Colorado experience.

We loved the house - so much so we'd like one ourselves! :) It was a great home base while we were in Salida. The area has skiing, hiking, rafting, horseback riding and rock hounding. We especially enjoyed the grill and deck - plus the foosball table. The owners were very helpful too.

My husband and I, along with 3 family members recently stayed at this property in Salida and it exceeded our expectations! There was a beautiful mountain view from every window in the house. We were constantly admiring the awesome scenery. Although convientently located close to town, it was a very quiet and relaxing place to stay. The floor plan gave us togetherness in the living areas but also provided privacy as well. The den,up-stairs loft and basement provided 3 living areas to hang out. With 2 of the bedrooms on the main floor and one master suite on the 2nd floor, we also had quiet and privacy in the evenings as well. And with the sleeper sofa in the basement, it provided a nice secluded spot for sleeping also. With relatives living in Salida, I would rent this place again in a heartbeat. The facility was very clean and nicely maintained and the pictures on the web site did not do it justice, it's even better in person!

What a great house. Beautiful views, great layout, even shelves of books to read when too tired to move. Cooked on the deck, hiked up nearby "S" mountain. It was wonderful. We are already planning to return.

Very, very positive. The house and facilities were everything the add said and more. Isolated enough to be a vacation and convenient enough to be fun. We have added it to our favorites for future excursions. The view is fabulous. The moon setting over the snow covered mountains in the morning was breathtaking. The owners made cerain that every need was accomodated. We will return!
