Gowlland Point Place is an expansive, private setting that provides incomparable views and access to a spectacular marine environment. The main house sits on over 300 feet of low-bank shoreline, with a panoramic view of the San Juan Islands, Mt. Baker and ships en route between the Pacific Ocean and nearby ports. Enjoy the seaside environment and abundant wildlife from a large wrap-around deck, or directly on one of the area’s most desirable beaches. Orca, porpoise, otter, bald eagles and deer are common sights. The view is equally enjoyable during inclement weather from fireside in the sea-view living room. An available guest cottage allows up to eight people to enjoy the property. The three-plus acre property includes a historic orchard and a forested perimeter that provides a reclusive ambiance. Neighboring Brooks Point and Gowlland Point Conservancy Areas add to the property’s natural tranquility.

Water and septic system resources, general comfort and respect for our neighbors necessitate an occupancy limit for the property. Up to six guests are allowed if only the main house is rented. A maximum of eight guests may be accommodated if the 'Annex' guest cottage is added to your vacation rental. The Annex is a private, studio-style cottage with a main living/sleeping area and a separate bathroom. Amenities include a refrigerator, a TV/VCR combo, radio, and coffee maker. An additional rental fee applies, and the Annex is only offered to guests already renting the main house. In order to offer your party flexibility, the theoretical sleeping capacity exceeds the property’s occupancy limit. The main house family room includes a futon that is suitable for one adult, perhaps two children. Guests are welcome to distribute sleeping accomodations as they see fit, within the occupancy limits of six or eight as described above....moreless

Sorry, but we are unable to allow pets or smoking. Members of our family have a severe allergic reaction to certain animals and tobacco smoke. Our no smoking, no pet policy is predicated on reasons beyond personal preference. Since life-threatening consequences can result from non-compliance, we ask that you take the policy very seriously. Please consider other vacation properties if this policy is too restrictive for you.
Fire danger and water conservation are urgent concerns at this property and throughout the Gulf Islands. Please be prepared to exercise extreme caution with regard to both.
Beach access is via a narrow, rustic trail. It must always be used with caution. Small children and older or less agile individuals should be assisted. A public beach access with stairs is available by walking about five minutes from the main house....moreless

The property is located at the southernmost point in the Gulf Islands, near the U.S. border. The San Juan Islands and Mt. Baker dominate the panoramic view, which spans from the northeast to the south. Marine, terrestrial and flying wildlife add to the geographic beauty of the islands. Eagles, otter, deer and porpoise are common sights. Orca (Killer Whales) routinely pass near the property. The area is well suited for kayaking, fishing, scuba diving, sailing and sightseeing by boat. Land based activities include biking, golf, tennis and hiking. Numerous parks are located on the Penders, two of which are adjacent to the property. Many interesting and unique shops exist on the islands, as well as numerous art studios and a vineyard. Musical events and performing arts are common in the community. The Pender Islands Community Hall hosts a seasonal Saturday farmers' market and annual Fall Fair, along with wedding parties and other special events.
