This 4 bedroom home includes a bedroom (queen-size) on the main floor with a full bath which includes a tall ADA toilet and a 3' door for access to the bath to make vacation for older guest more enjoyable. An open kitchen complete with granite countertops/stainless steel appliances and all the cooking necessities and more... is open to the dining area and great room.
This spacious plan allows everyone in the family or group to enjoy the conversation without feeling left out by featuring both a great room and a den. A large screen TV with DVD/VCR/CD ROM and Stereo are over the 'instant on' fireplace in the great room along with a large sectional sofa, and a game table with chairs perfect for a puzzle or a marathon game of chess.
A large screened back porch has both a picnic table with benches and 2 rockers and a rocking double settee for conversation and good times. There is also a large den on the main floor complete with TV/VCR, desk with WIRELESS T-1 Internet access and a queen sleep sofa bed. This second sitting area is perfect for families or groups to have separate conversation areas or competing TV/Movie interests.
Upstairs are 3 bedrooms and 2 baths and ALL bedrooms have their own access to a porch! There is bedroom with 2 bunk beds (4 total twin beds)/TV/VCR perfect for children and teens. A guest room with queen-size bed, TV/VCR, and rocker for relaxing. The large master bedroom retreat and bath measures the length of the home!
This master retreat includes a king-size bed, sitting area with table and chair. The room also includes a desk with internet access for the workaholic who just can't stop even at the beach, and bath with his and her vanities, a jetted tub and large shower and private WC. A upper back-side screen porch with recliners makes the perfect place to talk, listen to the ocean, and relax before bed.
An outside shower makes it convenient to rinse off returning from the beach. A large garage allows covered parking during your stay. Additionally, our driveway allows plenty of parking to accommodate larger groups or guests during your stay.
This home is located on a 3000 acre, gated island which is known nation-wide for its scenic beauty, friendly wildlife (deers, alligators, birds and more), and 3-1/2 miles of uncrowded beaches. The pace on Fripp is 'golf cart' speed which relaxes even the most stressed executive.
The island has two designer golf courses-Ocean Creek, designed by Davis Love, III -which our cottage fronts and Ocean Point, designed by George W. Cobb. Golf instruction is available for both adults and kids as young as 4 years of age.

This home appears to be a pure investment property. I say that because I believe a lot of details would be handled better if the owner spent time in the rental. I could be completely wrong in my assessment but this is what I experienced. The package of information was a great idea if it had been current. The articles were photo copied many times over and weren't legible. The home itself is beautifully decorated and clean. The beds were very comfortable and the layout is very nice. The location of the home is good too, across from a park if you have little ones but not a short walk to the pool or beach. It is the details that although stand alone are not significant, they begin to add up and for the price you do expect some of these basics to be covered. There was not a rental book/guide with the house - at least not that we found. The materials sent ahead of time were probably suppose to cover this need however the information was not always there or accurate. The WIFI codes in the materials were outdated and you had to discover the codes on a piece of paper on the kitchen wall to login. There is apparently a problem with the cable line into the house as most all the TV's had an extremely grainy picture. We troubleshot over an hour and could not resolve the poor picture quality. The coffee maker in the kitchen did not have any filters provided nor did the materials indicate what type of coffee maker was provided so that we could provide our own. There were no trash bags provided. The materials ask you to move the trash cans to the curb on trash day but no trash day was given. The kitchen at first glance is well stocked but once you start cooking you realize it is missing some key supplies. For ex. there was only 1 serving bowl. No platters or larger bowls. There is one oven mit - no other hot pads. A grater would be nice as a few storage containers. The guest bedroom did not have a working overhead light - could have been a blown bulb?? There were no luggage racks and the towels are subcontracted to a service and the quality was poor. These are all very little things that could easily not bother most people. The location of the home is nice and as said before the decorating is very pretty. If the few things are corrected above this could be a great rental.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children.

I actually had the chance to stay in this home back in 2005, my first trip to Fripp Island. My best friend grew up spending summers at Fripp with her family. Her dream was to get married on the island and in 2005 that became her reality. Her family rented this home for them to stay and invited me, her maid of honor, to stay with her. It was an amazing week on so many levels but being in this home played a huge role in it being a great experience. Fripp is such a great island, a fabulous place to take your family between the natural setting, the beach, the pools, the deer, the golf courses, the activities - all the homes are great but honestly, being on the canal is really unique. This home is perfect and the fact it is on the canal makes it special. It provides a private retreat, the dock invites you to drink coffee and watch the sun come up, or hang out and watch the stars at night. You can go fishing right off the private dock. It's close enough to get to all the action but allows you to just enjoy being "home" at the same time. A perfect home! My husband and I have rented from the Barnes now for 3 years. Their houses are awesome and their locations are perfect. You are right in the middle between the beach and the kids pool. You also get front row view of the playground and basket ball court. This will be our 7year vacationing to FRIPP . We wouldn't rent from anyone else.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children.

This property is for all those that want good family memories and being able to relax. My boys and I have already stayed here 2 summers and are planning on this summer 2011. Having the private dock to fish, crab & shrimp is priceless. My boys run to the dock the second we pull up. My older son caught an eel within seconds! They hang crab cages off the dock and run out every morning & evening to see what treasures we may have. They are able to catch their own bait to fish off the landing just down the road. The location allows your kids to play at the playground (across the street) & bike to the pool (2 minutes away) "on their own"! Sitting out on the spacious screened in back porch in the evening is quiet and relaxing! I love sitting there and talking with the family & friends of all the fun memories from day to day and year to year! Each summer we have a smoothie making competition to see if we can out do last year's..what fun! Thank you to the property owners for always making our stay feel warm and like it is home. My boys consider it their summer home and are always planning the next summer the minute we leave. I hope they keep this going for generations! Yes the beds are very comfortable and it is very clean! The Marina is just down the road to get all fishing supplies and small items you may have forgot at home. There are restaurants and A food court close by for those who do not want to cook. Great ice cream! When my boys were younger we would get our PJ's on and ride on the golf cart to get the evening ice cream! Again the owners are very helpful and make your vacation just that "A Vacation". Enjoy your time at this property and hope your family memories last for years to come!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

This was our first time renting this property and we were so very pleased with everything. Our large family of eight was very comfortable with the accommodations. The home is extremely modern and very tastefully decorated. Being on the canal was a plus for us as we were able to bring our boat. The photos and description were accurate; you can be confident of what you will see when you view the website. Joan was most helpful in answering all questions. I would recommend this property without any hesitation.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, people with disabilities, families with young children.

About the owner: Hello..........I am Joan Barnes. My husband Dave and I own this great home on Fripp Island that backs up to the Tidal Creek Canal which leads directly to the ocean. We use the dock to fish and crab and sit outside a night with a great glass of wine and watch the stars. We invite you to bring your boat or jet ski and explore the marshes. Nothing is easier than to jump right in the boat and take off for a afternoon ride without having to go back and forth to the marina.
