Cozy and comfortable

Guest: Eva J.
Date of Stay: 03/22/12 Review Submitted: 03/28/12

The owner, Nathalie, made every effort to make our stay as comfortable and easy as possible. The kitchen was well stocked. The tempurpedic mattresses were nice after skiing all day. Nathalie also paid attention to the details...there was a vase with fresh cut roses, blankets to use while lounging on the couch, and cut wood to start a fire in the fireplace in the living room. The house was in a perfect location. It was easy to take the free bus into and back from town. We will definately stay here again and recommend it to anyone!

Peaceful and Charming

My husband and I were looking for an "off the beaten path" place to stay with our two daughters for a ski trip. We wanted something quiet and homelike. Nathalie's place was perfect. It was quiet, spacious and we felt very at home. While the kitchen was small, it was well-appointed and modern. We loved the wide porch that overlooks the creek. My children played outside in the snow for hours and Nathalie even brought them down some warm freshly made crepes as a treat while they were playing. You will love your stay here. We did, and if we go to Colorado skiing again we will definitely be going back to Nathalie's!

We had the best vacation ever! We fell in love with that place the moment we stepped in. The location is perfect, the apartment a cozy retreat with everyhting you need and the host an inspiration. Nathalie's massage was amazing, her apple cake delicious. We will come back for sure and would recommend this property anytime. We saw the first snow of the season and were amazed by the changing colours of the trees. We still keep talking about our vacation and how home we felt at this secret retreat. Thanks Nathalie!

A retreat from the norm.

We felt very welcome in quaint place on the river. The babbling water was an amazing sound after a long day on the road bike. The location couldn't have been better for us. Grocery stores were not far from the unit. Bike routes and trails were easy to get on from the unit (3 out of 4 days of cycling in the mountains we left on our bikes from the unit). The owner is extremely kind and helpful. She also provided clear communication when reserving the unit. I would recommend the unit to any of my family and friends visiting Vail. If you are staying here, I would recommend eating breakfast at least once at The Little Diner at Lion's Head. We were warned that on a nice weather day there would be a line though.

LeRefuge was just what the doctor ordered! I had been looking for a get away and I couldn't have been more pleased with what I found. Nathalie is an absolute gem and a jack of all trades. My friend and I stayed with her for 3 days and wish we could have stayed for 3 weeks. Nathalie cooked all organic meals for us, lead us on a daily journey through yoga and meditation and catered to all of our needs. I will be going back and this time I will stay for longer. LeRefuge is moutainside in Vail and overlooks a beautiful river and set amongst many large trees. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect setting. Thank YOU, Nathalie, for everything!

Owner response:love the title ! ;)

A beautiful winter retreat with all

Guest: Nicole (Adelaide, Australia)

Our time at Nathalie's apartment was an incredibly relaxing and comfortable stay. The apartment is sparkling clean with all the comforts of home. Straight away we felt comfortable and were invited to treat the space as our own by our warm host, Nathalie. The view of the snow covered stream from the patio was picture perfect. We were in Vail mainly to ski and a free and regular bus into Vail village is literally around the corner from the apartment, saving us $25.00 a day in parking. We also did some yoga and cooking with Nat and both were superb!! This is a wonderful place for a holiday and I can't recommend it highly enough. We will definitely be back.

Perfect for staying in Vail and enjoying the great outdoors

Guest: Keith9 (Victoria, BC)
Date of Stay: 01/01/11 Review Submitted: 01/08/11

Marianna and I thoroughly enjoyed our all too short stay. The apt is very clean, comfortable and fully equipped for an enjoyable stay. It was relaxing to sit out on the patio, watch the snow fall and listen to Gore Creek as it tumbled over the rocks just a few feet away. The wood stove adds great atmosphere and the book and video library offers a selection for everyones taste. The Vail bus is quite close and can get you anywhere without having to worry about downtown parking. After a day of snowshoeing Marianna took advantage of Nathalie's services as a massage therapist to unwind after her exertions. She said it was wonderful! As a bonus we were able to sample some of Nathalie's baking with some fresh "Tarte Tatin"- yum. We are looking forward to heading back this summer.

Charming & quiet 2BR, perfect for a ski or summer vacation

Guest: Alexa M. (NYC)
Date of Stay: 12/26/10 Review Submitted: 01/04/11

Located in West Vail, close to the slopes, this comfortable house is the ideal place for a relaxing vacation - skiing is amazing in the winter, and hiking/biking paths abound in the summer. The 2BR also has a full sized kitchen for those that like to hole up and cook, and the supermarket is right around the corner. Nathalie, the owner, is a gracious and attentive hostess, and will make sure that your stay is as fun and relaxing as possible. This place is a well kept secret - I would definitely come back!

Tender Loving Care

Arriving at 1AM could not have been convenient for Nathalie, but she received us with open arms and a hot bowl of soup. Her place is very warm and chic with all the extras you would expect of a bed and breakfast. Nathalie checked in on us often but was never intrusive. This rental felt like staying with family....never have I felt so at home and comfortable. LeRefuge is clearly a bargain of a rental which we will frequent often in the future. I would not hesitate to recommend this lovely rental in Vail.

Perfect Home / Perfect Host

Guest: Bri-Guy (Chicago, IL)
Date of Stay: 09/04/10 Review Submitted: 09/08/10

It is difficult to find flaws during our stay at this retreat. The home, setting, and host were all nothing short of extraordinary. I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a great get-a-way. Whether you are on vacation with friends, family, or a significant other this retreat will suit you well. Along with that intangible "home" feeling that this house radiates with, the host makes sure that you are well taken care of. If I could I'd keep this place a secret.

Owner response:As invited as the property may look for pets, the house is not suitable for these lovely beings.

We really enjoyed this hideway in the mountains in early June. Its a beautiful property and we enjoyed just lounging around the place. Nathalie was generous with providing us everything we needed. The kitchen is well stocked with spices and gadgets and so if you like to prepare meals, this is the perfect place. We also enjoyed massages from Nathalie who is certified. I highly recommend staying here any time of the year! If we have a chance, we will go back!

A quick bus ride to the slopes. The property was clean and well maintained. The kitchen was well equipped allowing for a quick breakfast before the day started and a peaceful dinner after a day of skiing. My wife enjoyed a Yoga session after the first day of skiing. Stairs to door might be a problem if you have trouble going up and down. For my family of four, it was the perfect accommodation.

This Suite is Sweet!

This very roomy two bedroom lock off was perfect! It was a Shangri La for our week there. Every thing we needed was there, coffee maker, toaster, dishes, Internet, movies, nice soap - all the details. We loved being able to make breakfast each day in the kitchen and get right out to play. Having two bedrooms a desk and a table also made it easy for our working vacation. Nathalie is a most gracious and attentive host. She's upbeat and accommodating and Le Refuge is a peaceful retreat.

A quite comfy retreat

Guest: LeslieHD (Colorado )

Nathalie wants your stay to be comfortable and ours was. Plenty of room for 4. The kitchen was well-stocked for cooking breakfast and dinner. The tempurpedic mattresses on the beds were a treat. The ipod dock let us have our music with us. We took advantage of a massage and it was delightful - and, located just up the stairs from the apartment. The wood burning stove came in handy during the evening. The unit is very clean and everything was well maintained. A very cozy unit for a good price. We will return.

Quaint Cozy and Comfortable

My wife and father just spent 5 nights with Nathalie at her cozy comfortable cabin. We were there to cook Thanksgiving dinner for my two sons who work for Vail Mountain Resort and to grab a few days of skiing (weather permitting). The cabin is small but very accommodating and well laid out. The kitchen is perfect for those of us who like to cook breakfast before we hit the slopes or prefer to stay in for a relaxing evening meal at home. Nathalie is a sweet hostesses who does all she can to make the stay relaxing and enjoyable. We had plenty of cookwear to prepare a full Thanksgiving feast and plenty of firewood to keep us warm as we watched all our favorite football teams whip up on their opponents. We enjoy this creekside living so much we've already booked another 7 days with Nathalie in January.

The little retreat was all we hoped for and more. It was very cozy with a warm fireplace, perfect after a day of sking. The massage was amazing and my private yoga session really opened my practice to a more intimate level. And Nat, the hostess was the lovely, she really made us feel at home. I would go back in an instant.

Very comfortably appointed and an easy distance from the noise and bustle of Vail village. Very quiet and private, peaceful and relaxing with a fire in the fireplace and the soothing sound of the creek just outside your front door. Wonderful massages on-site, ask for availability when booking or upon arrival. The owner is a pleasure to meet and wonderful to work with. My friend and I had a wonderful stay.

This was our first time at a B&B & in Vail, it was soooo very special. The Refuge is a wonderful chalet with rooms that each are unique & have their own character. The owners are wonderful & helpful ,as is the whole staff there. The breakfasts were great & servered in a beautiful fashion. The "sweets"(which are plentiful) are yummy!!!!! We asked for recipes !!!!!The tea time & chese & wine was a "nice touch", We are sooooo glad we picked the Inn & would recommend it if you"re looking for a special time in the Vail area !!!!!!
