BEST RENTAL ON THE MOUNTAIN- LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION !!!

Guest: DREW (Atlanta, GA)

I would recommend this rental property to anyone and everyone!! The overall location of the property is unbeatable. The bus service literally runs right past the front door and is a very short ride to Boulder & Stagecoach lifts. The bus service will also take you down the mountain to the transit center for shopping, dinner, gambling etc. The property is only a few hundred yards away from the ONLY local watering hole “Fox n Hound” (which my friends I thoroughly enjoyed). Next to Fox n Hound is a ski rental facility that offers much more efficient prices than those at the lodges of Heavenly. Overall the unit was very clean and well maintained, included all the necessary amenities plenty of towels, toilet paper, paper towels, extra blankets etc. I have already contacted the owner about making our trip an annual one. For the price and the location this unit is unbeatable!

great property in a great location

This is a great place to stay when skiing Heavenly. The condo has all of the necessities, with three nicely-sized bedrooms, each with its own bath. The shuttles run regularly and the wait is never long. Try and get up early at least one morning, as the sunrise from the dining table is spectacular. Also, per Debbie's recommendation, we tried the pizza at the Fox and Hound. It's close, covenient, and tasty. The rental place next door to the Fox and Hound was also a convenient source for skis. They were helpful and friendly. The Owner was very helpful in coordinating our stay. We recommend this property.

Clean and Spacious

Guest: Houston Attorney (Houston, TX)
Date of Stay: 12/04/10 Review Submitted: 12/13/10

My family and I had a wonderful time in this chalet. The area is quiet and surrounded by other condos and timeshares. Because the condo is on the mountain, it took about 5 minutes to drive down the mountain to HWY 50 and 10 minutes up. Pros: The sunrises each morning from the deck were gorgeous. The rental was clean and had the essentials we needed, including extra toilet paper and napkins. The condo shares a wall with only one other condo, and it was convenient to park our SUV directly in front of our front door. The washer/dryer were convenient for washing/drying our ski clothes and gloves each day. My sister-in-law and I built snowmen on the deck and cooked dinner every night. The fireplace was fantastic for roasting marshmallows and keeping toes warm. The BlueGO buses owned by Heavenly stop directly in front of the chalet, so it was convenient to ride those buses to the casinos and Heavenly Village for food/shops/movie theater. Also, Heavenly - Stagecoach Express (blue) lift was literally one bus stop away, but beginners on green will need to take a longer bus route to the Heavenly Gondola/California Lodge or drive twenty minutes to a different resort (Sierra at Tahoe or Kirkwood). Cons: No flat-screen TVs, although there is a tube TV in every bedroom. The kitchen knives also are very dull, so use the sharpener provided. Overall, I would definitely recommend this rental. The owner was easy to work with, and I hope to stay here again soon.

Owner response:The beginner/ski school/green slope is at Boulder Lodge which is a one minute bus ride from the Alpenhof chalet. Boulder is not open at the beginning of the ski season due to weather conditions. It is generally open from 12/15 to the beginning of April but snow conditions are determinate.

11 Night Stay

Guest: Michael (South Florida)
Date of Stay: 07/03/10 Review Submitted: 07/19/10

We recently stayed in your Lake Tahoe Chalet for 11 nights thru July 13, 2010. Although the elevation was about 7400 foot we found the location great and central to all we wanted to do at Lake Tahoe, about 10 minutes to the lake shore. The cabin was very nice with plenty of amenities and our children loved Buck the singing dear. All the beds were very comfortable and the restroom fixures were all updated and modern. The cabin was very clean and we very much enjoyed the stay and the value we received. The view from the main deck was beautiful especially late in the afternoon as the sun set over Carson Valley and we enjoyed the cook outs on the outdoor grill that was provided. There were plenty of dishes and cooking utenzils for those that prefer to eat at home. We would definitely request your cabin again if/when we visit Lake Tahoe.
