We so enjoyed our honeymoon stay here...have always wanted to live in a treehouse, and this gave us that unique opportunity! Thank you for sharing your land and beautiful property with all of us who have the fortune to visit Kauai and find our way to your little treasure in the trees. It truly felt like home to us. Thank you! Mahalo!

This past January found us staying at this quaint little place for 3 nights, and boy do we wish we stayed longer! The house is warm and inviting and has a fabulous outdoor shower that was just the ticket to the Aloha Experience. (Seriously- being outside with a hot shower and stargazing is something nobody should miss out on!) The place is completely stocked for staying there; it has a full size fridge (which is nice) with plenty of cooking supplies to shower towels. Even the furniture was lovely, gave it that nice hawaiian island feeling. Crickets gently put you to sleep at night and waking up to birds singing away in the treetops… What a great little spot this place is! Neil is more than ready to help out with any questions/concerns you have (we had none, this place was easy!) He also is a great resource for local insider knowledge- make sure to ask his opinion on activities you are doing, he makes great suggestions. Great little coffee and breakfast place 5 minutes down the road, make sure to check it out. Overall it was an incredible experience staying there from the place to the people and if he hadn’t been booked we would have stayed longer (which is our biggest regret, make sure to book early!) When I come back there is no question about where I’m staying at! Thanks Neil and Sharon for sharing such a great place to all!
Owner response:You are so very welcome - what delightful guests you were! We hope to see you again!

Our stay at this location was peaceful and delightful! The location was especially nice because it's just high enough on the hill to be a little cooler than the rest of the south shore. The photos and description were accurate, and the owners were helpful with recommendations on local activities.

The treehouse was absolutely magical. Our hearts were pounding with excitement as we drove up the hill and we were in awe of the beauty surrounding us. The treehouse was everything we could have ever dreamed of. We had some amazing moments, eating breakfast on the lanai, amongst the trees and watching them sway as the trade winds cooled us off. There is nothing like taking a warm shower as you enjoy the view of the glowing clouds from the sunset behind the lush trees. You were excited to go to sleep b/c then you climbed into your cozy loft and lay quietly as you appreciated the stars above you and watched the trees humming with the rhythm of the wind. Some complain about the roosters but I loved every bit of it. It is a part of the culture of the island and if they weren't around it wouldn't be the same. The horses that live next door are friendly and it was such an added bonus to be able to visit them as we pleased. Neil and Sharon were wonderful hosts and made sure to welcome us in every way- leaving beach accessories, toiletries, cards, books and more. We had the most amazing stay and are so appreciative to have the special treehouse as a part of our memory.

It's been a month and I'm ready to come back! Kauai Tree House is magical, peaceful and so relaxing. We felt right at home as we walked through the door. Amazing outdoor shower!!! Everything we needed including boogie boards, clean. Neil made himself available to answer all questions and tell us about less traveled terrific spots on the island. I already have recommended this to our friends who hope to travel to Kauai. We enjoyed the "Trading Post" right off of 50 and "Jungle Girl" in Old Koloa town has great jewelry and a super friendly owner. Don't miss this place! Marla and Kevin Oakland, CA

We can't thank you enough for sharing this beautiful space with us. This trip exceeded our expectations thanks to your graciousness and generosity. Kauai is truly a magical place and this cottage in the trees made us feel at home right away! We loved our neighbors in the pasture and the geckos chirping at night. Some highlights from our trip include eating at Koloa Fish market (thanks for the suggestion) hiking the Mahaulepu coast and the Kalaulau Trail and the Na Pali Coast...sky diving on new year's eve. Much mahalos for making us feel included. We will surely be back and tell everyone we know to stay here. Aloha!

Kauai Tree Houses...the first reaction was ‘holy smokes, you want me to drive up there?’ But when we got up the hill we were really impressed. While it's not "technically” a tree house, the sleeping loft is even with the treetops. To the uphill side there is a horse pasture, so you feel like you are in a jungle and a farm at the same time. Yet Kalaheo's main drag is just a few minutes away (albeit via the steep drive). While there we were hit with a severe storm and wound up calling owner Neil, a Welshman, who joined us for beers and an evening of fun conversation. He immediately took care of minor issues and it made for a memorable evening! The place, built by Neil, is a really cool layout, with upstairs sleeping loft dominated by a large window and vents to let the cool breeze in ...and downstairs kitchen area, living room and breakfast nook. The porch is very spacious and takes great advantage of the surrounding jungle. The first night there was some fairly loud conversation down the hill and a dog barking, but the rest of the time it was pretty quiet, except for the roosters in the morning. The set up included coffee and bottled water. The Kalaheo coffee shop was just down the hill, and had awesome coffee and breakfasts (omelets, wraps, pastries). About 20 minutes to the beach, but an easy drive. The place requires an adventuresome spirit - there are some bugs and dust bunnies -- but my wife saw a gecko in the bathroom at the Hyatt Regency so no demerits for that -- and in fact it added to the boho charm. More charming still was the outdoor shower, with a big selection of soaps and shampoos (hemp and peppermint was memorable) and a great view of the surrounding tropical forest. For us, having the place as a three night stay between stays at a nice, but none too homey condo in Hanalei and a hotel on the big island, it was perfect, and it really felt like home.

Had fun! It's like staying in a cuckoo clock - red cardinal is attacking the outside mirror by the shower as we write. Mating? Fighting? Selling time share condos? who knows? used the boogie boards and the sand chairs. Enjoyed the stars while lying in bed. Hint. Take a walk on the road away from the highway - right at the bottom of the hill ...early morning blessing and free guavas to boot. Enjoy!

The treehouse was cozy and a perfect haven for us to return to after our day of adventures on Kauai. The privacy was a real treat especially when using the outdoor shower. The experience at the treehouse was very relaxing and a little "funky". Being truly up in the trees was a real gem and almost a little surreal. I did find the various insects in the house to be unnerving though, the house probably needed a good deep cleaning. Or maybe some of the insects were due to the fact that you are literally "in the jungle". I kinda enjoyed the little geckos, especially since they help keep the insect population down. The morning roosters....... I think we're having chicken for dinner, right? HA HA!!! If you want complete solitude amongst beautiful, lush jungle-like scenery with the most fragrant flowers and quiet relaxing evenings, then Kauai treehouses is your place to be. It is a 10 - 15 minute drive to Piopu Beach, but is very centrally located to everything on the island. Neil is a gracious host and helpful. MAHALO!!!

When I saw this place on VRBO, I knew it was theperfect place for us. Not only was it centrally located to all of the activities we had planned, but it was incredibly charming and unique. My husband and I went to Kauai as part of a 30 year wedding anniversary, and to spend time with our sons who had just graduated from college and high school. Even with the four of us, there was plenty of room and we enjoyed our stay immensely. So much so, that in the chance we return to the magical island of Kauai, we will book our vacation around this rental's availability. Thank you Neil and Sharon for opening your lovely home to us.

Thanks for sharing your place. Nice to stay at a place with no locks and keys. Loved the flowers, the hammock, outdoor shower, and the general peacefulness. It was a time of early evenings and early mornings. Liked your suggestions of sunset at Poipu Beach Park, dinner at Brenneckes, and the Kalaheo Coffee company up the road. We did the Napali coast boat tour and it was fun, while the helicopter trip was phenomenal. Aloha and Mahalo!

We stayed in the tree house for our honeymoon after our June 5th Kauai wedding. The cottage was the perfect place to relax after our week with family and friends. We loved waking up to the trade winds and sunshine in the treetops and falling asleep to moonlight and stars at night. We also loved the coolness at night (natural air conditioning;), the live-in bug zappers (geckos), the outdoor shower, and the whole rustic charm of the place which is not too far off the beaten path. Our one regret is not spending more days at home, because we really would have loved afternoons on the deck having a beer with Neil and talking about life. We look forward to a visit in the future. Mahalo!

Sharon and Neil are very nice host. Sharon had fresh cut flowers around the tree house for our arrival, soft towels, and nice toiletries for us to use. The tree house is rustic and that being said, we had a few more bugs in the place then we personally were comfortable with. However, I understand since we informed them they have taken actions to deal with this problem. There is a hibatchi grill (not a full size grill) so you may not want to plan to cook a lot of meals at the tree house but I am sure there are places you can eat out at nearby. The tree house is close to many of the great things to do in the south & west part of the island including great trails, salt pond beach etc.
Owner response:Thank you for your interest in ensuring the 'right' guests stay in our treehouse, and for taking the time to give your feedback. We appreciate this.
