Sugar Ridge is a truly wonderful property that caters for everything you could imagine. Spacious and well thought through makes this an ideal place to bring family. We really enjoyed the pool and relaxing setting often just chilling with an ice cold drink whilst my daughter grew fins. Phyllis cooked up a treat (ice cream filled profiteroles ) to finish . We hired a car and saw a lot of the Island borrowing the sun chairs and visiting the great beaches, our favourite was Rockley. Used Ivor several times to collect us when we wanted to either drink or split as a group. He is extremely proffessional. Dave and Katherine work hard at making the Villa feel like it is actually yours, great service and personal touch, Dont read any more just come and see for yourself.

Fantastic holiday at a fantastic villa!

Spent 3 fantastic weeks at Sugar Ridge Villa in June 2011. It is by far the best villas that I have ever had the pleasure of staying in - everything is to a high standard and thoughtfully arranged. There are 4 large bedrooms which are all en suite, a large dining area with a large table to seat the whole family and a fab kitchen and laundry room. We spent most of our time outside either under the veranda or the pool area (which has decking and outside furniture). The villa is a short drive to the beach and 7/8 min drive to Holtown where there is a large supermarket and various other amenities. Phyills treated us to some wonderful local cuisine and also came in to do some cleaning during our stay- highly recommended for a thoroughly relaxing holiday! Definitely plan to return again - thanks for a brilliant holiday!

We spent two glorious weeks at Sugar Ridge. The villa is as good as it looks in the photos but if possible even better. We were a family group spanning three generations and it worked equally well for all of us. The villa is very well equipped and the layout is great. The young children in our party loved the pool and the garden. Everyone involved was very helpful and considerate. We would highly recommend it.

Our group stayed 20 days, and if there were six platinum stars we would award them to Sugar Ridge Villa. We had a fantastic time in Barbados and loved the island and the villa. The owners are very very nice people and their villa and the people they employ from the pool man to Ivor the driver were great. We recommend this place too everyone, just do not book before we do. We will be back.

Sugar Ridge - The Perfect Escape!

Our family of five (including 21 year old grandson) stayed at Sugar Ridge Villa for a month (Dec 8, 2010 to Jan 5, 2011) and loved every minute! The house is spacious, thoughtfully organized and very comfortable. One bedroom downstairs and three bedrooms upstairs. The bedrooms are all a/c with ceiling fans, too. The amenities were all as described and exceeded our expectations in every respect! The household staff could not have been more helpful: Ivor's greeting at the airport was the right way to start a holiday; George made sure that everything ran smoothly for us; and Phyllis taught us how to make the perfect rum punch! The location of the house is ideal with easy access to everything on the western (Caribbean) side of the island - easy drive to beaches, restaurants, shops, etc. A great selection of some of the best restaurants are within 5-10 min drive. NOTE: Be sure to make advance reservations even if it isn't a special occasion because it is clearly appreciated! We had time to explore in all directions and used Ivor for one full day's excursion in the more crowded Bridgetown area. This is a house which is very well cared for in every respect. The covered terrace (French doors from the living area open onto the patio) with all kinds of seating and the beautiful pool and surrounding garden are fantastic. Lots of chairs, chaise lounges, umbrellas, a gazebo with more seating and a mini fridge, the BBQ...it was tempting just to stay put and venture out just for meals! We hated leaving Sugar Ridge Villa and you will, too! By the way, the pool access steps and hand rail were perfect for old knees! There's a selection of games and books in the TV cabinet; the house is wifi'd; and the welcome "kit" of supplies was wonderfully chosen. There's a small mini-mart about 5 min from the house which stocks most of the essentials, but supermarkets are close and very well stocked. Although we thought a rental car was essential, taxis are available. Don't hesitate to contact us through the owners if you have questions or concerns. Katharine and David Blackman, who own Sugar Ridge Villa, are very responsive, but we certainly welcome the opportunity to add to their information if it would be helpful in making your holiday decision.

Excellent Vacation Experience at Sugar Ridge

We recently stayed for two weeks (last week in July and First in August 2010). Everything was very well looked after and the villa was well equipped.Staff who serviced the accommodation (houskeeping,gardens,repairs,pool etc )were incredibly pleasant and helpful. The location (albeit not directly adjacent to the coast)was only a 5 minute drive from the coastal road and this was no problem whatsoever. The size and distribution of rooms made our family reunion a memorable one with everyone comfortable and relaxed.The pool and gardens were excellent and it was easy to entertain thanks to the incerdibly flexible set-up. No hesitation in recommending highly

We returned to the villa in March again. Everything was perfect for our stay. The location is great for access to amazing beaches, restaurants and local shops. The villa is amazing and has been further improved since our stay in 2009. George, Joyce and Phyllis who look after the villla for the owners do an amazing job and we had Phyliss cook for us which we all thoroughly enjoyed. We would highly recommend a stay here and we will no doubt return in the future. Phil and Casey

I spent 2 very nice weeks here in Barbados, this is an amazing country with amazing people and judging by this property, it has amazing villa's. The spaciousness of the bedrooms was totally unexpected, every room having an en-suite was such a bonus, the outside area was fantastic to lounge about with a glass of rum punch and a slice of rum cake and watch the sunset go down. This is a place that I will definately be visiting again within the next year and this is the villa that I will be staying at, the owners are a lovely couple and were very accommodating to my needs, the service and care I received from the moment I stepped off the plane to the moment I got back on the plane was second to none, I'd also like to recommend the cook, lovely traditional Caribbean food, fantastic. 10/10.

Spent 2 beautiful weeks at Sugar Ridge Villa in June 2008. Sugar Ridge Villa is one of the best villas that I have had the pleasure of staying in. There are 4 beautiful bedrooms (all en suite), wonderful dining area with a large table to seat the whole family and a fab kitchen and laundry room. The outside veranda's and pool area were just perfect for all the guest. The villa is approximatly 10 min drive to the beach and situated in between Holtown and Bridgetown. The owner also arranged for Phyills to come in several times a week to clean and also cooked some delicious meals for us. Will return again. Top marks for a fab holiday.

We stayed here for my father's 80th birthday and enjoyed it immensely. We were 2 40somethings, one 20 yr old, the 80 yr old and 2 (pre)teens. Airconditioning and ensuites in every bedroom. A great pool and lovely terrace with a big table for family festivities. The setting is somewhat rural but if you have been to the Caribbean before or come from there it is ideal. Rent a car and you are in Holetown in 5 minutes. Just watch out for slippery tiles with wet feet and you will be fine!

We spent a week at Sugar Ridge Villa with our 2 teenage daughters. The house is beautiful and having the pool was great. The owners arranged for us to have a cook. Phyllis was one of the best parts of our trip! She cooked us up local dishes and took such good care of us. She kept the house clean and tidy and did laundry as well. It was truly a relaxing vacation!
