**Blue Bird Cottage!!**
Everyone truly loves Bluebird Cottage! Come enjoy a wonderful vacation in this lovely cottage home. Well worth the price, this newly renovated Old Mill Cottage sleeps a comfortable 4 and a cozy 7 with a Pillowtop Queen bed in one room, bunk bed in other room (comfortable full bed on bottom and twin on top) a very comfortable (really it is!) Queen pull out couch in living room.
Located right in the heart of Northwest Bend in the middle of it all, just a short walk to the River and the Downtown shops. Nicely furnished with all high quality bedding, full large kitchen setup, beautiful pine dining table, central gas heat, big back porch with patio set and BBQ and hot tub, fully fenced yard for the kids and pets, and washer and dryer.
For entertainment, the cottage has a wonderful private Hot Tub year round in a fully fenced backyard where you can gaze up at the night sky and and sit back and relax after a day of skiing, riding, or playing all day in the outdoors. It also features 3 bikes, wireless internet, cable TV, DVD player with movie collection, inflatables to float the river, and games for the cozy nights in. Back deck is wonderful and relaxing in the warm summer days.
Baby and kid friendly- crib, bouncer, highchair, bathtub, toys, exersaucer and hiking pack available on advance request. The cottage is located 3 blocks from the River, a short walk to Downtown and Drake Park and Old Mill, a 1 minute drive or 5 minute walk to the "Park and Ride" Shuttle to Mt Bachelor, and 30 minute drive to Mt. Bachelor. At least a 2 night stay, $40 cleaning fee. Dogs ok with fee of $50 refundable security upon a clean inspection. Check the calendar and then email to inquire for availability.

Why the Owner Chose Bend
I fell in love with the Old Mill Historical homes when I moved here. They have a wonderful history, great charm, and the perfect size for a vacation home.
The Unique Benefits of this House
It is very close to Drake Park where all the festivals happen each summer. It is a few blocks from the beautiful Deschutes River and Columbia Park. Downtown is within walking distance and many great restaurants. In the Winter, the Shuttle up to Mt Bachelor is a 5 minute walk and the cottage is near the main road up to the mountain. It is on a nice quiet street, great neighbors, and still close to all the many great places in Bend.

Christmas at Bluebird Cottage

My wife and I recently spent five nights over the Christmas holiday at Bluebird Cottage. The accommodations could not have been more perfect for our needs. First, the cottage was spotless when we arrived and the amenities included everything we could possibly need, right down to a pet bed and food bowls for our pooch. Loads of essentials also - salt, pepper, coffee, sugar, spices and much more. Another great feature is the location. We could easily walk to both the Old Mill or Drake Park and downtown in fifteen minutes. No need to pull the car out every time we wanted to go somewhere. There's a great breakfast cafe/bakery about three blocks away - The Westside Cafe. Super. Also Bagels and a convenience store across the street and a brewpub a block away. For skiers, the Mt. Bachelor Shuttle Bus is just a couple blocks away. The neighborhood is very quiet and the beds are great. All in all, the Bluebird Cottage was an excellent choice for us and I highly recommend it. We plan to stay there next time we need a vacation rental in Bend.

We just finished a great 3 day stay at Bluebird Cottage. It was exactly as advertised (if not better). Nice, clean, owner thinks of everything. Much better than staying in a hotel - this is a fully outfitted private residence. Very accommodating for our dog as well. And to boot, we were a 5 minute walk from several local restaurants that we love. We definitely intend to stay at Bluebird Cottage again.

Our family stayed at the cottage while visiting family in Bend, and it was just perfect for us. So much thought has been put into the needs of the guests, from instructions and information to kid-safe features like outlet covers, movies for the DVD player, and just about anything we might need. We were incredibly impressed by the attention to detail and the condition of the cottage. The bunk beds were perfect for our kiddos (ages 5.5 and 2.5), and having the lawn/yard was also so helpful. This was a perfect *home base* for us - if we get the chance to visit Bend again we will absolutely hope to stay at the cottage, and we also gave the info to our family there to recommend to others who might visit.

My family of 3 (husband, my 2.5 year old and I) had a great time at the Bluebird. It was clean (and I'm kind of a germophobe), cozy, and in a great location in Bend. The owner was very accommodating of our arrival time. The only non-kid-friendly aspect was the fact that the hot/cold faucets were reversed in the bathroom sink and shower (labelled on the sink though), which, if you are a kid who can't yet read, could be dangerous. Other than that, it was perfect. Oh, and some jokester swapped sugar into the salt shaker - kind of ruined my eggs that day! No fault of the owner, of course (unless she was the jokester, but I suspect not!).

I just recently spent 8 days in Bend and stayed here. A great location, laid back, clean, comfortable & had everything I needed. My sons who live in Bend also stayed a few nights. A great option for out of town family! My dog was also very comfy & it was nice to be able to bring her. I look forward to my next visit to Bend & the Blue Bird Cottage. Located in a friendly neighborhood, close to everything!

We wanted to meet up with friends from California as a midway point from our home in Washington. The Bluebird Cottage might be our new home-away-from-home. It is ADORABLE, pristinely clean, nice fully fenced yard for the Husky, hot tub was great under the cool, starry sky after a workout in the nearby Lava River Cave. For the same price as ONE hotel room, we had this whole cabin at our disposal. THis would be great for families with toddlers or little ones. It is in a nice quiet neighborhood, and had every amenity we could have wanted. STAY HERE!

We stayed at the Blue Bird Cottage for for 4 nights this summer and had a great time. The cottage is charming, has everything you need, and the hot tub was a great way to end each day. The owners are a super friendly and accomodating family and offered great suggestions for activities. The street is quiet, the neighbors are very nice, and the kids loved playing in the yard in the evenings. The Deschuttes River and a neighborhood park/beach are just a short walk down the road and downtown and the Old Mill districts are also walkable. Bend is a beatiful town with tons to do and we found the blue bird cottage to be an excellent home base. We miss it already and will definitely go back!
