My boyfriend, me and another couple decided to try for one last Tahoe ski adventure for the year. The snow ended up being horrible but staying at this property made our trip still very enjoyable. The house was very clean and neat. We loved the fireplace and the private hot tub was super convenient. The house would easily be comfortable for 3 couples stay! It's close to heavenly and there is a grocery store in walking distance. Working with the owner was so easy and hassle free. Overall, the experience was great and we hope to stay again in the future!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.
Owner response: Thanks for all the kind words. We truly enjoyed having you as our guests. Come back again in the summer, the weather is great and a whole new set of cool activities are available. One of our favorite things to do is to visit Vikingsholm in Emerald Bay and then hike Eagle Falls. Best Regards, Holden/Smith Tahoe House

My family and I had a wonderful time at Gary's house. The house was plenty spacious for the 6 of us + dog and we very much enjoyed the spa (especially when it was snowing!). Gary was very responsive and helpful. The neighbors are also great-- they gave us tips on great x-country ski trails and cleared the driveway after we got 10" of snow overnight. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it highly!Owner response: Hi Natalie... Thanks for the very kind words. You really had some of the best Tahoe Holiday weather, I'm hoping your dog figured out what snow is! Please come back and see us, the Spring and Summer In Tahoe is awesome too. Best Regards, Gary Holden

We spent the Labor Day weekend at this charming place, and will get back any time, because it felt like home, and a little bit better :). The house is more generous than the pictures show, and the intimacy of its location is mostly gratifying. We were a party of four, including our young son, and the fifth person was our Beagle puppy, who was excited about everything. Hiking through the woods, swimming in the Fallen Leaf Lake, sightseeing, quiet dining in the front yard are just a few of the treats we offered ourselves. It couldn't have been better! Thank you.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, sightseeing, pet owners.
Owner response: Hi Domnita....Wow sounds like you found some of the great spots in South Lake Tahoe. We were happy to have you as one of our many family guest groups and glad to hear your vacation went so well. Please come back and see us again, Tahoe is terrific year-round. Best Regards, Gary

We all really enjoyed our stay here! The home had plenty of space for our family and we loved the peaceful and relaxing setting amongst the pines yet it’s an easy drive to the lake, casinos and restaurants. The wi-fi was good and we really enjoyed the hot tub. The home was really clean and well equipped and perfect for the needs of a family with teenage children. We would definitely stay here again and recommend this home to anyone heading to Lake Tahoe.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.
Owner response: Thank you for your kind words! We certainly enjoy our overseas guests. Should you come across the pond in the future please look us up! Regards,

My husband and I, my mother and two teen-aged boys spent 4 nights in this very clean and comfortable cabin. The kitchen was well-stocked with everything needed to prepare meals and clean up. We were close to Raley's, multiple beaches and numerous hiking trails. In the evenings we enjoyed watching TV and DVDs, surfing on the fast WiFi and soaking in the hot tub. We hope to return! We enjoyed kayaking and hiking at Echo Lake (more affordable and scenic than on Lake Tahoe) and swimming at Pope Beach and the beach at D.L. Bliss. Only wished we had more time there!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, adventure seekers.
Owner response: Thanks! You really did have great Tahoe weather to see all those sights. Summer in Tahoe with the warm dry days and cool evenings makes for a terrific get-away. Come see us again soon!

This cabin was so clean! A great location, perfect for a small family. I've stayed at many Tahoe cabins, this may be my favorite so far. Thanks! We will be back again.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, pet owners, adventure seekers.
Owner response: Thanks! Being so close to Tahoe be sure to come see us again. The fall rates are lower but the scenery and the Tahoe life style are there year 'round! Regards,

We came up for a few days to celebrate my daughters 16th birthday, and this cabin was very clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed and more. We enjoyed the hot tub while it was snowing outside. Very quiet neighborhood, and close to everything. We can't wait to come back.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway.

We LOVED our stay at this wonderful home which is situated among many gorgeous trees and open space. Because the home is set back off the street, it is very private and it was a magical wonderland with the trees filled with snow. The home is very clean and comfortable with all the amenities one would need. Supermarket, K-Mart and various stores are less than a mile away. Best of all you can be at the Lake Tahoe and Fallen Leaf lake in minutes. It was a magical time.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

About the owner: The Smiths and Holdens are co-Owners of our South Lake Hideaway. We'd been vacationing in Tahoe for many years and decided it was time to get a place where we can get away from our hectic occupations. We're a pet loving group and have a total of 5 Children between us.
Why the Owner Chose Gardner Mountain:
We chose this location for it's ideal combination of access to Skiing, Hiking, Casinos, Golf, and of course the Spectacular Lake Tahoe. The neighborhood is quiet with friendly helpful neighbors. We're sure you will agree.
