A Bayview Beauty is located on a boulevard lined with flowering crape myrtle trees,known as the "Sea Cottages" in historic Cape Charles,Virginia. This dutch colonial two story home sits two houses from the pristine Chesapeake Bay public beach. The home has been updated with modern amenities,central air and completely painted with fresh,soothing beach colors,yet keeping the cozy charm of the 1940's with original hardwood floors and cabinetry throughout. Relax and enjoy views of the Chesapeake Bay from the second floor bedrooms, living room, and the large screened front porch.
There are three spacious bedrooms,a full bath on the second floor. Queen pillow top beds in two bedrooms, two twin beds with memory foam toppers and daybed in one bedroom. French doors provide privacy to the dining room and to the living room,which has a queen sleeper sofa. A half bath is located between the living room and kitchen, across from the tiled laundry-shower room. An outdoor shower area is also at the rear of the house. Guest departure cleaning is provided by a professional housekeeping service. The home has been approved by the town's safety code inspector with certificate issued.
The beach is located two houses from our front door. The town's fishing pier,shops and restaraunts, public library, post office and places of worship are just a few blocks away. Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus Signature golf courses, open to the public, with proshop and "Coach House" restaraunt are a 2-3 min.drive. The marina with "Aqua" restaraunt and shops are located at the opposite end of town. Driving south on Rt.13 you will find Kiptopeke state park,and a National wild life refuge. Continuing on highway 13 S/E. across The Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel is Virginia Beach and Norfolk/Int. airport(35-40 min). Newport News airport, Historic Williamsburg/Busch Gardens (1-1 1/2 hrs)E Rt.64 from Cape Charles. Chincoteague-Assateague,Tangier Island are north on highway 13,making these great day trips! Explore the easternshore,visit local wineries,or just relax on the beach.

Why the Owner Chose Cape Charles
The town is charming with older homes,sidewalks,a "Main Street" in walking distance,and friendly people,as well as the proximity to the Chesapeake Bay and Atlantic ocean. It is quiet, with that small town feel,and a step back into time, yet full of activities and exploration. There is a new,upscale marina with shops and a golf village near the town center. Cape Charles is a day's drive (just a little over 9 hrs.) from our home in Ohio. The Eastern shore is a beautiful area, some have described it similar to the Outer banks and Long Island as it was thiry years ago. The pace is calm and easy here. We have met many people who have been drawn to the area for the same reasons, with whom we have become friends, and look forward to seeing again.
