We just loved this home!!! 6 personalities and all loved this home. It is decorated so tastefully. The home made you feel so comfortable. We had everything that we needed, even down to throws to use when you got a little chilly. You could see the bay from the porch and watching the sunset was just awesome!! We walked to the beach, stores, and local pub. Everyone in the town were very warm and friendly, just truly sweet and awesome people. Great stores, I loved the Bad Girlz collectibles!! The Antique store and other stores displayed the great local talent. The pub, Kelly's had great food. The staff there were just as friendly. I loved this home, no complaints. We all want to come back, maybe even with our husbands. lol!! I travel a lot and stay in a lot of hotels, so it was nice to have a change of pace. Plus we laughed, talked, and didn't have to worry about disturbing anyone like you would in a hotel room. Thank you to the owners for having such a wonderful home for all to share. The house was great, especially the screened in front porch. It was a few houses from the beach which had white sand and practically no waves. It was perfect for our 3 year old and one year old. The town is sleepy which was perfect for us since we just wanted to play at the beach and eat most meals at home. We would definitely go back to the Bayview Beauty. There were a few things that were less than ideal, but would not stop us from going back. One thing was that the shower in the house had a slow drain, so you would be in water up to your ankles when you were done showering. Secondly we did not find any quilts for the beds. And lastly the pillows on the bed were very old and not comfortable. I would recommend bringing your own. I would and have recommend going to the Bayview Beauty if you want to relax, get away e-mail/phone and to spend quality time with your family!
Owner response:Thank you for your review! The pillows are only 3 years old...hopefully they are our pillows that we purchased new. We provided lightweight cotton blankets for the summer which we found adequate for the time of year. The tub drain pipe was taken apart and refubished last summer. If the water pressure is too strong the shower tub will have some standing water. If you decrease the pressure slightly the drain can handle all the water and not lay in tub. Just like all drains it can only handle a given amount of water. Thank you for recommending us and glad you enjoyed your stay!!!!

Overall we had a nice relaxing vacation. The house is clean and well kept. The owners were pleasant and a pleasure to deal with. The beach was nice and clean with warm water and shallow sand bars which was perfect for our two year old.The rental had many conveniences like the washer/dryer,outdoor shower etc.Town was VERY sleepy but we were there pre-season so maybe its not so sleepy during the summer.Virginia beach was about 45 mins south which had a nice zoo and aquarium which our son loved. If your looking for go-carts and water slides this is def not the place for you but if your just loooking to sit on a uncrowded beach and relax this is the place. My only complaint that there is no internet available. We have AT+T and the service around cape charles was bad.Could barely make phone calls and could not get on the internet on my iphone. For some people this is not a problem but if you are a very connected person (as i am) this could be very frustrating.Verizon has good service there. If you have AT+T plan on not having internet during your stay. The neighbors take care of the rental and are very nice and accommodating.Maybe they could set wireless internet up with enough range to access it from the rental and provide renters with a password to access it.(just a suggestion). Besides that though we had a great time, our toddler had a blast and we were very happy with the rental.
Owner response:AT&T is aware of the problem and is working on their cell tower. We are told it should be repaired or replaced sometime this summer. Thank you for the lovely comments about your stay at A Bayview Beauty.

We stayed at this house for a weekend wedding in May. It was lovely, quaint and charming as was the town of Cape Charles. Our stay was short but very comfortable and enjoyable. The house was clean and comfortable and I would recommend this house to friends and relatives needing a place to stay in Cape Charles.

We stayed at the Bayview Beauty the first weekend in May. The house was very clean and it provided more than enough room for our family of five. The house is within walking distance to the beach. Cape Charles is a small quiet town and the neighbors are very friendly. We will definitely return to Cape Charles and this charming house.

Our stay at the Bayview Beauty was so relaxing we didn't want to leave! The house was impeccably maintained, very clean and with everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. And the layout of the home is perfect for families with small children. The beach was just across the street, very calm and quiet. Our kids had a great time exploring, collecting shells and playing near the water. I would highly recommend this property to friends and family looking to get away from it all in a quaint and relaxing setting.

My husband and our 3 year old stayed here in late September and really enjoyed the house. It was immaculately clean and readily apparent to us that the owners take good care of it. The house has a nice layout for little kids and family get togethers - first floor flows in a circle from kitchen to DR to LR and back. We spent a lot of time sitting on the screened-in front porch, sipping coffee as the sun comes up or a glass of wine at sunset. The beach is very close - a minute walk or so. This was our third visit to Cape Charles. A main reason we come back is the beach, which is ideal for little children. It is clean and uncrowded, and the water is very shallow with no waves. Sunsets are gorgeous. A lot of people describe the town as "Mayberry" - it has a relaxing, slow pace and people are very friendly. If you are looking for nightlife, this is not the place for you, but otherwise there are enough restaurants and little shops for a week (we liked Kelley's Irish Pub, Aqua, Veneto Pizza, the Coach Tavern (at the Country Club) and the Firehouse.) This town has a neat history, and it is interesting to walk around looking at all the beautiful old Victorian houses.

Dates: 9/11/10-9/18/10. Our group included myself, my mother, my husband, and our two children (ages 5 months and 3 years). The vacation could not have been more wonderful, starting with Bayview Beauty. We were so pleased with the home, it fit us perfectly and the screened porch was definitely the highlight of the week (we used it for coffee every morning and dinner every evening). We all agreed that we have never felt so at home in a vacation rental. It was well equipped with plenty of linens and towels as well as a very well-stocked kitchen. The location was perfect, two houses from the beach and an easy walk into charming downtown Cape Charles. This was our first visit and we fell in love with everything from the quaint little shops to the beautiful park and library that we visited a couple of times during the week. The beach itself was ideal, clean and quiet with water calm and shallow enough for my three-year-old to feel extremely comfortable. It was sunny and mid-80s every day which was the topper to just an amazing week. We are already planning our trip back to Cape Charles and Bayview Beauty next year. Highly recommended!

We just got back from our week-long stay at the Bayview Beauty and, having never been to Cape Charles, we were pleasantly surprised. Our family of four went with another family of four and our favorite thing about the house was its proximity to the beach (just two houses and across the street). The beach was absolutely perfect for our children who ranged from 5 1/2 months to 3 1/2 years old. Due to the calmness of the bay, the children could sit right by the water and play. The town itself (which is also in walking distance from the house) is very small and quaint so if you're looking for a lot to do right in the town of Cape Charles, you're not going to find it but what is there (a few good restaurants, a cute coffee house, and a few shops) is just fine for a laid back and low key vacation and it is possible to take day trips to other areas of Virginia's Eastern Shore (one day we drove up to Chincoteague to see the wild ponies). We spent most of our time at the beach. With regards to the house, it was adorable and well equipped with most of what we needed. Unfortunately the thermostat is located on the 2nd floor therefore the AC struggles to make it downstairs but it's not awful and the AC upstairs is more than comfortable. We would definitely consider visiting Cape Charles again and staying at the Bayview Beauty.

We booked this house at the very last minute and were so happy when we arrived. The house is very nice - probably a little too nice for our two toddlers but after hiding the breakables we were good to go. (whew) The beach is just across the street and the water was incredibly warm and shallow - absolutely perfect if you have little ones. The town itself is a little sleepy - a few shops that have closed down - so that was a little different for us after going to cape cod and other places with lively villages. Great coffee house and bar though - really good food. Just an interesting place all around. Definitely worth a week.

We had a wonderful time in this lovely house in Cape Charles. The house was great, with comfortable furniture and beds and a wonderful screened in porch. The kitchen had everything we needed. Cape Charles is a beautiful little town that is great fun to bike around. The people were very friendly. The location was perfect because we had a nice beach 1/2 block away, and it was a very easy drive to get to Virginia Beach, Norfolk or other interesting locations. This was a great spot for a family vacation.

Our first visit to Cape Charles was wonderfully relaxing. The Bayview Beauty was the perfect size for our family's (5 adults) get together. The historical town was charming, while we enjoyed all the modern amenities you would expect at the house. Cape Charles is a flat, easy-going town to bike around in. It was fabulous to have easy access to the calm, shallow beach where we watched the sunsets. The plush pillowtopper beds were the perfect end to each day.

We had no idea what to expect when we decided to go to Cape Charles this summer. What we found was a lovely little town with friendly, gentle people. It was incredibly quiet and peaceful. Most people ride golf carts or bikes, so there is hardly any car traffic. The house was wonderful! On one of the prettiest streets in town and in a great location. Right across the street from the beach and an easy walk to town. We lived on the beautiful screened in porch - coffee in the morning, drinks in the evening before going across to the beach to watch the most beautiful sunsets ever. The house is comfortable, nicely decorated and well cared for. For a treat, have drinks on the deck at Aqua and then have dinner there - we did that twice, and would have gone again but wanted to try other places. There a few places to eat in town and the Inn in Eastville (7 miles north) is also good. It is a great place to relax and truly get away from it all. Bike riding, golf, sitting on a most relaxing beach, boating, visiting wineries... what more do you need!

Thank you for sharing your beautiful home in Cape Charles, VA! We especially enjoyed the screened front porch with views of the bay and the walks along the beach. The sunsets over the bay were beautiful! Your home had everything we needed for a very restful week before heading back to school and work. We look forward to visiting Cape Charles again soon!

We just returned from the most wonderful relaxing vacation at the Bayview Beauty in Cape Charles. One of my favorite memories was enjoying my morning coffee on the beautiful screened porch, while taking in the view of the bay, and watching the scooners glide by. The Bayview Beauty is a darling home away from home. Furnished with all the comforts and more. Very comfortable beds I might add. We were pleased that eight people sat easily at the diningroom table to enjoy meals. The gathering room is so ample for games, reading, or napping all of which you will find yourself doing often. We can't wait to return again next year!
