  We had a wonderful 2 week stay in this lovely unit. The neighborhood is all that is promised: clean, inviting, filled with nearby restaurants, food stores and other amenities. The location is ideal: we walked to Union Square, Madison Square, the village and east village, Soho, and uptown to the theater district and Fifth Avenue shopping district and the Park and downtown to ground zero, city hall etc. The Highline and west side art galleries are a few minutes away, and the subway is one block away. The unit itself is as nice an apartment as one could hope to find in NYC. After a few days, we felt like this was really our home. We prepared wonderful dinners for 4-8 people, had fires in the fireplace, and slept well in the cozy and quiet bedroom. The owners are both attentive and discreet. They responded to our requests promptly, but were otherwise no more visible than any other neighbors in on the block. I could go on forever, but suffice it to say that we would give this apartment the highest possible recommendation. I cannot imagine how anyone could not enjoy staying in the place for a few days or a few weeks. TRULY TOP NOTCH. WE WILL BE BACK.

  We finally found our NYC home away from home. Norma is great and once we settled in (which only took 5 minutes) we were in 7th heaven for the 11 days of our stay!

  Recommended for: Tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

  This NYC apartment was everything that was described and more. My girlfriends and I spent 3 nights here, and it was absolutely perfect. Spacious, yet had a nice cozy feeling. The location in Chelsey is ideal. You can reach 2 subway lines right around the corner, making movement in the city very easy. The restaurants within short walking distance were also great. Norma was a great host, and found her wonderful to deal with. We will be back to this great apartment next time we book a trip to New York!

  This was a blissful apartment, centrally located in Chelsea. It was clean and convenient and private and fun. It was very accurately described in the listing. Everything worked, clocks, locks, tv, coffee machine, everything. The private entrance, just a few steps down from the street level, made access easy, even with a knee injury. The owner is charming and lives v nearby, and was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend this place. It's a short walk to all the many art galleries in Chelsea, and the pretty little outside terrace at the back was a delight! It's on my "definitely-will-return-here' list!

  Ditto All I can do is repeat the glowing reviews of others - the apartment was great. My wife, my daughter (age 32) and I drove down from Montreal in July for a few days timed with a visit to NY by our other daughter, husband and son (age 2), who were staying at the Gem Hotel – just a half a block away. Their hotel was great, but small rooms, especially with the crib – they were totally jealous of our accommodations – there will be a fight next time to see who gets to stay at Norma's large super-clean apartment. The AC (one unit in living room and one in bedroom) worked well in the July heat. It was so convenient to be close together – we all had a great time. My wife and I were basically babysitting, so my daughter dropped off the baby in the morning and we visited the great nearby kiddy parks with water features (wonderful on a hot day), plus the HighLine park and lots of other interesting things in the area. We are a bit picky about restaurants – we want good, healthy and tasty food without breaking the bank – we found plenty in the area – a few one you will not want to miss: • For brunch – The Highliner Diner (210 10th Ave – corner of 22nd) - try the French toast - yeah, I know I said healthy, but the carmelized apples are healthy, right? • For dinner – Spice (236 8th Ave – corner of 22nd) variations on Thai food – absolutely delicious • For dinner – ilili (236 5th Ave – between 27 & 28) – Lebanese - do not miss this one and be prepared for a taste-bud treat – just order a bunch of dishes and share. And, as other have stated, Norma was great. Oh yeah, free parking on the street saves you $35/day – just remember to move the car on the correct day for street cleaning. We will return! Dan

  My 2 year old daughter and I had a wonderful 2 week stay here in June. Norma supplied a crib and bedding for us and was very accommodating with anything and everything. She was helpful in pointing out where the nearest playgrounds and local shops were and was a very gracious host. The apartment is very well maintained - it is spacious, clean and tastefully furnished and is in a perfect location in Chelsea. The photos are very accurate and I must add that she had a brand new sofa bed delivered when we were there (even though the old one seemed fine). The apartment has everything one could want - a kitchen with enough dishes, pots, pans and utensils, ample room, a comfortable bed and AC in the summer. There is plenty of room for 4 people to stay here. I would definitely come here again and have already recommended it to friends. Thanks! Carrie and Penelope

  Wow is the best I can do in describing this amazing apartment in the heart of Chelsea. I browsed through website after website looking for my picture perfect brownstone walk up in a tree lined street and there it was!!! Chelsea Charm :). Every review preceding mine has appropriately captured its charm and convenience to absolutely everything NYC has to offer. Ten days was not nearly enough time. With every subway line a stones throw away, each and every part of the city was accessible. Quite often we chose to walk in lieu of using the subway so we didn't miss a thing. Norma was such a gracious/graceful host. Nothing was a bother and she was available if we needed advice of any type. I could go on waxing lyrical about Chelsea Charm but why don't you just see for yourself! You can look forward to a beautiful stay in a beautiful city without any reservations! Thanks Norma. We shall return!!!

  We stayed at this apartment for a month in April 2012 and it was perfect. You really can't find better if you want to live like a local. The apartment is huge for New York standards with a spacious feel. The apartment is well presented, immaculate and clean. You walk through the door and can't believe you have found this gem. The area of Chelsea where the apartment is located would have to be the best area to stay in Manhattan. It is close to major subway lines around the corner and down the street, you will never need to use taxis and will be anywhere uptown or downtown within a few minutes. It is close to everything, but far enough away on the cutest suburban street that you will think you are not in NYC when you return after a day exploring. Norma who rents this apartment is friendly, obliging and a true host. She will answer any questions you have about the property before you book and whilst you are there. We already told Norma that we will be back in a few years, as will you once staying here. This apartment is one of those real finds that you will not want to tell everyone, for fear it will be booked up when you need it next. So plan your flights around staying at the "Chelsea Charm".

  This one bedroom apartment in a lovely brownstone on a tree lined street was absolutely perfect. It was tastefully furnished and very comfortable. It was very large for New York with the bedroom down the hall from the living room. The private patio off the livingroom was lovely as well especially on a warm evening. There are great restaurants within a four block radius and easy grocery shopping. I loved staying here and will definitely return. It was a five star experience!!!

  Excellent, safe, quiet location, perfectly appointed and clean apartment, full kitchen and outdoor space a plus. Bed and pillows are plush, white, and ultra-comfortable! Close to subway. Owner is attentive. Would recommend to friends, family. Will definitely return!
