Spend your next vacation in Paradise! The Mauna Lani Golf Villas is the newest addition to this AAA, Four Diamond World Class Resort, which features the Mauna Lani Bay Hotel & Bungalows and the Fairmont Orchid Hawai'i hotel.
Golf Villas is a gated community consisting of 87 luxury villas on 13 acres located literally on, and surrounded by, the golf course between the 4th and 9th fairways. The complex boasts its own resort style pool, hot tub, fitness center and recreation area. The nights here are exceptionally beautiful with clear, starlit skies. Enjoy the spa at the pool as the full moon rises over the mountains. And... you'll be amazed by the quiteness here while being surrounded by the golf course. It makes you almost want to whisper!
This 2,300 square foot, two story townhome has 3 bedrooms & 3 baths plus a loft den/study off the master bedroom and sleeps 6. There's plenty of room for the whole family... Beautifully furnished in Hawaiian décor, the condo provides everything you need in your home away from home. The gourmet kitchen with granite countertops overlooks the great room and dining area.
A downstairs bed and bath are provided, should you have a family member that has difficulty with stairs. On the upper floor, you'll find a second guest bedroom with a walk-in closet & bath, a large den/study looking down thru the vaulted ceiling of the living room below and a fabulous master bedroom suite with sliding glass doors opening onto a private lanai overlooking the golf course.
The large master bath, with connecting walk-in closet and dressing area, has twin vanities, a glass enclosed shower, and an oversized soaking tub,
Nine foot ceilings and an open floor plan gives this home a spacious feeling, and it's very comfortable for stays of any length.
The Golfing is Great
The Golf Villas is a golfer’s heaven nestled between the 4th and 9th fairways of the championship Francis H. I'i Brown South Course (formerly the site of the Senior Skins Open). Wave to the rest of your family as you drive by in your golf cart and challenge yourself on the famous ocean front 15th hole (one of the most photographed in the sport). Or, be a spectator and just relax on the lanai with a drink & a book and watch the golfers going by. By the way, the view from the master bedroom of sunrise over the often snow capped peaks of Mauna Kea & Mauna Loa can be spectacular!
You'll enjoy discounted golf rates on both the North and South courses, and, of course, there's also a full service Pro Shop and Club House, with a gourmet restaurant for your enjoyment. In addition to the two championship courses at Mauna Lani, there are 5 other championship courses within a 15 minute drive of the resort.
The Beaches
When you're pau (finished) golfing, head for the beach! It's one of the other really relaxing things to do here on the Big Island. There are several within the Mauna Lani Resort. Among them is the private Mauna Lani Beach Club which is available to you with a key card that provides access to the private parking lot. Driving to the beach is preferable (approximately 1 mile), since you'll probably have your cooler and beach gear with you.
The Beach Club has white sand, calm waves, and great snorkeling, and chaise lounges are also available for your comfort. There's also a small bar & grill overlooking the beach serving lunch, drinks, and snacks. Additional resort amenities at the Beach Club include snorkeling, scuba diving, & whale watching trips and sunset cruises, which can be booked thru the boathouse consession. Don't leave the island without getting out on, or in, the ocean. The water's crystal blue and warm (74-78 degrees)! It's a wonderful experience, and during the winter months is a great place to watch for whales...
A short drive outside the resort takes you to Hapuna Beach State Recreation Area, one of the perpetually top rated beaches in America. A gorgeous half mile stretch of white sand beach between two rocky points provides for a variety of activities including snorkeling, boogie boarding, picnicking and just passing time on the beach watching the waves roll in... Be sure to check with the life guard on duty for daily conditions and safety advice. Other beaches along the Kohala Coast provide excellent snorkeling and diving, as well.
Shopping and Other Things
The Shops at Mauna Lani is a brand new shopping and restaurant complex and features Tommy Bahamas retail store and restaurant, Ruths' Chris Steak House, Starbucks, a gourmet supermarket, and a variety of smaller specialty shops, restaurants, and galleries.
The Mauna Lani Spa (available on a per day basis) offers six tennis courts (some lighted), a 25 meter lap pool, weight room, sauna, and steam room. Across the street is the Mauna Lani Archaeological Preserve encompassing 15 acres of ancient Hawaiian fishponds, hiking trails, and habitation sites.
