Welcome to La Buena Vida # 5. This great luxury condo is located in an exclusive, gated development just off the main Tamarindo strip. Close enough to the action, yet still able to maintain a sense of privacy, this condo is just a 3 minute walk to Tamarindo beach past numerous shops and restaurants. This 2 -story unit has been professionally furnished, decorated, and appointed to the highest standard.
Whether you are after a romantic getaway, an active adventure, or a relaxing retreat, our aim is to make your vacation as memorable as possible at our "Treasure in Paradise".
Sit back and enjoy the warm balmy temperatures, soft golden sands and tropical waters. Experience world class surfing, adventure tours, and wild life excursions. Browse the quaint shops or take a relaxing walk on the beach. Dine at great restaurants and watch the amazing Tamarindo sunsets.
With only 9 units in the development, you can relax by the pool which backs to a protected Greenbelt providing great bird watching opportunities.
The main room in the condo is open, combining the kitchen, dining and living areas for a wide open feel. Hand painted murals adorn the atrium walls. Admire the original artwork we have collected for your enjoyment. Parrots, Macaws, Sea Turtles, and Tropical Beaches immediately connect you with the beauty and diversity of Costa Rica. The kitchen is fully equipped and features granite counter tops, beautiful custom cabinets and stainless steel appliances. There are 3 grocery stores nearby for those who prefer to cook. If you would rather just relax and let someone else attend to the culinary tasks, there are over a dozen great restaurants within walking distance.
The unit sleeps 4-6 people comfortably. Sleeping arrangements consist of one queen bed with orthopedic mattress in the master bedroom and two very comfortable twin beds in the guest bedroom. There are also two high quality air mattresses which, if needed, will fit comfortably in the guest bedroom. Each bedroom has its own en-suite bathroom and the master bedroom has its own plasma TV.
Playa Tamarindo is one of Costa Rica's most beautiful beaches and is great for kids and adults alike. There is excellent surfing, paddle boarding, boogie-boarding and skim boarding. Lessons are readily available for any activity. Some may prefer to relax with a good book or take a long walk and enjoy the serenity. Our aim is for you to have the best vacation possible. All linens and towels are provided. We also provide boogie boards and skim boards for your enjoyment. There is a cooler and cold drink packs to take to the beach as well as oversize beach towels.
The shuttle service from Liberia airport is easy and reliable. With banks, a post office, shops, restaurants and even a mini cinema nearby, it is not even necessary to rent a car to experience all Tamarindo has to offer.
Excursions are available to the nearby National Parks or further afield to Monteverde and Arenal volcano.
Bicycle, Scooters, Motorcycles, Kayaks, Surfboards and ATV rentals are available a block away.

My name is Steve and I am the proud owner of La Buena Vida # 5. An avid adventurer, I have traveled extensively throughout the world. My 35 year career in Transportation / Logistics for a Worldwide Delivery company has provided me the opportunity to work, live, and visit many domestic and foreign locations. I have spent extensive time throughout the United States, Europe and Canada. Volunteer activities with non profit organizations and churches have given me the opportunity to visit diverse locations like Africa, the Middle East and Central/South America. I love people, nature, outdoor sports activities, and have a a passion for adventure.
Why the Owner Chose Tamarindo
After my first visit to Costa Rica, I fell in love with the natural beauty and diversity. From the beaches to the rain forests; volcanoes to cloud covered mountain retreats, this country has it all. There is just so much to see, do, and enjoy. If you're a nature lover, this country is very special. The Liberia airport makes it easy to get here, yet it feels like you're worlds away. With a stable government, low crime rate, excellent health care and education, this proved to be the perfect place. The weather is ideal. Although Spanish is the primary language, many speak English; my little Spanish Dictionary and a smile always gets me by. I was 50 years old when I tried surfing for the first time here in Tamarindo. What a blast! I was immediately hooked. I may not be the best, but I really enjoy the workout as well as the peace and serenity down by the beach.
The Unique Benefits of this Condo
"Buena Vida Ville", as it's often referenced by my family and returning guests is a wonderful little community. It is safe, secure, and in the perfect location. It's off the busy main strip, yet close to the action and conveniences. With only 9 units, there is a lovely mix of permanent residents, seasonal visitors, and short term guests. It's the perfect blend of people that all enjoy the wonderful Costa Rica lifestyle. The original artwork in our vacation home has been collected for family and guests alike to enjoy. When we open the door and see those colorful parrots, it helps us immediately connect with the beauty and diversity of Costa Rica. Local artist "Rafa" painted the murals in the atrium areas that reflect local settings. I really like that everything is within walking distance of our home. After my morning jog, I always stop for my fresh fruit "smoothie" at one of the juice shops. You just can't beat it. There are dozens of restaurants, shopping in the many boutiques, grocery stores, a gym, beach clubs, bakery, internet cafes and coffee shops, a bookstore, car rentals, and even our own little theater. Local tour operators can set up numerous activities to satisfy even the most discriminating. Horseback riding, ATV adventures, Sailing, Scuba Diving, Snorkeling, Zip Lines, Canopy Tours, Birdwatching, Turtle Nesting, White Water Rafting and Nature tours are available. You name it; we have it! For me however, the greatest thing about Tamarindo is this: Every time I come here, I find that I slow down, relax, and take in life at a much slower pace. I always return back to the States asking myself, "Why didn't I stay longer?". Very quickly I learned the meaning of "Pura Vida".

Choosing accomodations is never an easy task, we were very hesitant to book this property without having seen it. But our family was estatic with the layout, cleanliness and size. We felt extremely secure, and the location is just minutes from the beach and all shopping. Vehicle parking is very safe and he pool is a nice ize onideringthe beach is where we spent the majority of our time. The Condo is very well equipped and the quality of beds and linens was very good!!! Woud highly recommend this property!!!

La Buena Vida was a great treat! We were so glad we stayed here. Although we didn't rent a car, getting around by foot was very easy. There was always lots to do and lots of good food. Everyone in Tamarindo was very nice and welcoming. Calixo, maintenance keeper for Buena Vida Ville was also very helpful. Most Costa Ricans speak decent English so our little knowledge of the Spanish language got us by. We loved the Kaihiki restruant, Witch's Rock, and La Buala. We took a tour, via Destination Adventure Tours, to Rincon de la Vieja, and did the super combo tour [included zipling through the rainforest, rapelling, rock climbing, horseback riding, tubing down the river rapids, relaxing in the hot springs, and a mud bath. It was definitely worth the $ and we'd do it again in a heart beat. For our next trip to Costa Rica, we will definitely be renting a car so that we can visit some of the other nearby beaches!! Had a BLAST on our trip... it was our first trip but definitely will not be our last and we can't wait to go back!!!

We had a great time. We also got very lucky with weather as it only was raining just a couple times during our stay.It is a great place, the pictures and videos show the place exactly as it is, clean and well maintained. Calixto is a very nice guy. He was available always when we needed him either to get a remote from the gates when we rented a car or to adjust water temperature. The list of places to visit provided by owner was very handy. We went to a few recommended restaurants and drove to a few Playas near by. Everyone in our group had a good time. We hope to be back. I will recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a good deal on accomodation and comfort in Tamarindo area.

A group of 3 of us recently stayed at La Buena Vida for 6 days and it was truly a perfect experience. The condo is very well kept and nicely furnished with all the amenities you need for a relaxing experience, including AC, Wi-Fi, cable TV. The kitchen is fully equipped and we cooked several fantastic meals there. The bedrooms were spacious and the master suite had a flat screen TV along with a huge bathroom of its own. The condo is only a short 5 min. walk to town and the beach, so the location is perfect. The owner was extremely helpful in answering all of our questions and also in providing excellent recommendations for the best places to eat and explore Tamarindo. While there, we spent time sportfishing, ATV riding, ziplining, and relaxing on Tamarindo Beach and Conchal Beach. The nightlife was very active as well, with multiple options every night. We had a blast. We are definitely coming back and staying at La Buena Vida.

This is a fabulous place to stay. I was happy to find all the modern conviences of home! It is walking distance to town, beach and many fun things to do. The condo is filled with recommendations of where to go and what to do. We enjoyed the locals we meet and loved the sushi restaurant Bar1 just a block out the door. I liked the extra security to the complex and Calixto the site manager was so much fun! I am looking forward to taking my children back with me soon.

This property was very nicely updated, beautifully decorated, clean and had everything we needed (full stocked kitchen, towels, etc) . Property is secure in a gated community and a very nice property manager is on site 24 7 for anything you may need. Walking distance to beach, shops and plenty of local restaurants (that were all very yummy !!) We had dinner one night with a couple that live there year round and dinner another night with a couple that was staying there on their honey moon .... everyone is so very friendly !!! Beaches were beautiful, sunsets were amazing, waves were huge for surfing and fishing was great as well. We are already planning our stay for next year.

Had a wonderful stay at Steve's condo. Quiet, comfortable, and beautifully decorated it has everything you need. And bonus...there was a terrific adjustable office chair there which was very much appreciated as I had come to Costa Rica to draw and to write. Calixto, the condo's handyman, is friendly and helpful and one of the best things about La Buena Vida. Thanks again Steve!

What a wonderful place to stay while in Tamarindo! Buena Vida is a place anyone could call home ... the condo itself is absolutely gorgeous and top notch. I've stayed in many beach communities in Costa Rica and none are decorated or furnished like this one. Definitely top tier accommodations! The neighbors are just as great and I enjoyed many lovely conversations by the pool. Calixto the on site manager/handyman is ready to help at any time of the day. He is a very helpful man and you can ask him anything ... from what to do in Tamarindo to help with anything in the condo. The videos and pictures are definitely a true depiction of the condo and I would definitely recommend this place to anyone I know traveling to the area and I will definitely stay here upon my return. Being here in the sanctuary of Buena Vida made my stay what it was ... PERFECT. You won't find another place like this that includes a full size refrigerarator and a washer and dryer. I truly felt at home and very welcome. The beach is just a short walk from the condo ... and just far enough away from the "night life". I ate at a variety of places and was never disappointed. You won't find a bad restaurant in that town at all. the miles of beach is amazing ... you can walk or run for hours. Surfing and paddleboarding is great as well.

We had a wonderful 2 week stay in this condo during the first two weeks of March 2008. The unit truly meets everything that is in the description, plus some nice amenities such as a remote gate opener, room safe and nice garage to keep your car out of the sun. The WiFi connection was excellent and we used voice over internet to communicate with our families at home. The property is a short walk to town center and the beach, but is removed from the busy town traffic. Several nice restaurants are close to this unit. As you look at the beach picture in the description, Playa Grande is a magnificant beach in the background. We had a great vacation and would highly recommend this unit if you enjoy clean and comfortable accomodations with privacy.
