We just had an amazing time at Vista Verde! We spent 5 days there and the home has gorgeous views and is a very comfortable home for a family vacation. The loft area is perfect for kids and the deck is very relaxing. The kitchen is fully equipped and the living room area is spacious and comfy. We loved the fact that is so centrally located, close to Kyle, Austin and San Marcos. The owners made us feel at home, and the property was very clean. We definitely recommend Vista Verde for a family vacation!

Vista Verde is the perfect family holiday home. We stayed for 10 days with our three young children and had an absolutely wonderful time. The house is wonderful and the views are spectacular. The photos do not do it justice. The owners are extremely accommodating and have gone to great lengths to make the home comfortable in every way. We loved it so much we are already planning our next stay. Thank you for a truly wonderful holiday we will never forget!

This is the perfect home for a Girls' Weekend. The home is beautiful inside and out and the views are spectacular from the large deck with hot tub. I enjoyed walking around the house & cabins and seeing the creek down the road and all the wildflowers too. Very private setting but just a short drive to shopping in Wimberley and excellent restaurants. The Master suite is really wonderful and the kitchen was fully functional and ready to use. The only drawback was two bathrooms was a little tough for ten ladies. Note that the main house has two bedrooms plus a semi-open loft bedroom plus an open loft with four beds. . .not quite as much privacy for those sleeping up there. Overall we loved it and would recommend it highly.

8 girls gathered at Vista Verde for a long weekend and had such a great time! Pros: Comfy beds, great view, fabulous fireplace with wood, great grounds to hike and explore, hot tub!, well maintained, great happy feel. Cons: The kitchen is not showcased enough in the Homeaway ad! The kitchen is one of the stars at this house. Granite countertops, big fridge, nice cooktop, double ovens and almost every tool/gadget you might need. All the pans and cookware you might need as well. Ample glassware and dishes and bowls. Truly a gourmet's kitchen. Thank you so much for such a great house to chill out and enjoy our friends. We will be back.

We absolutely loved our stay at Vista Verde. The house and surrounding were beautiful. The grandkids especially enjoyed the fenced in patio and the toy room. The adults enjoyed the gorgeous view of the hill country and the hot tub. Wimberly was a great town to visit, there were many options for entertainment. We would highly recommend the Vista Verde as a play to stay, you will love it.

The property was perfect, the view amazing, really close to supermarket and wimberley towncenter is like 10 minutes away. Kitchen utensil, just name it, and you'll find it. It is perfect for big families.

Our family had a wonderful time at Vista Verde. It is better than the pictures and was more than enough room for seven of us. Our four legged family members enjoyed it as much as we did. The porch is huge and a great place for the dogs. There were deer each morning in the front. You don't need to pack any spices if you are cooking, there is a huge selection in the kitchen and the complimentary tea and coffee was great to have. You are just two to three minutes from the shopping area in Wimberly yet while in the home, you feel remote, comfortable and relaxed. I highly recommend this beautiful home and if an occasion arises, I would rent this home again.

Our stay was not pleasant. My wife and I, plus two adult children & spouses and one granddaughter spent 6 nights at Vista Verde. Following is a short listing of problems we encounted: 1. The roof leaks 2. There are not 4 bedrooms. There are two bedrooms on the first floor and a loft area. The loft area does not have a bedroom with four walls. 3. Listing indicated 3 bathrooms -- a 3rd bathroom was to be completed before we arrived. There are only two bathrooms on first floor. Nothing started on loft area. 4. There is mold in the showers. 5. We could not get one of the doors to lock. 6. There is wireless computer connectivity, but it is very very slow. 7. There is need for general repairs, especially the water damaged wall areas and several holes in the walls. 8. I would not recommend the place for children who wake up to noises or the sun rise.

Owner response:1 – We have never heard that before, however, if we had known we would have sent a roofer ASAP. 2 - We agree. There’s two bedrooms downstairs and one bedroom upstairs with a fantastic open view. There’s also an open, roomy loft which sleeps 4, with a reading and game area. 3 – Listing indicates two full bathrooms. 4 – We would have responded immediately if we had the chance to know about the issue. 5 – Once again, there is an onsite property manager for these issues. All inconveniences can be remedied instantly with a phone call. 6 – Because of remote country location, we all know broadband internet service is not offered in this type of area. Our wireless service is the highest available from our provider. 7 – Contractor has been called for the minor drywall repair. 8 – We’ve rented to hundreds of happy families. Please refer to our extremely positive reviews. Downstairs rooms are tailored to people who prefer a dark environment and the upstairs rooms are best suited for those who like an early start on their day!

What a beautiful view! When we arrived, not only was I impressed by the scenery driving in but the views from the back deck are amazing. The house is so well taken care of and everything we needed was there. It was very comfortable and cozy. There is so much privacy for us to relax and the town of Wimberly is so cute! Adorable shops. I would definately stay there again.

We had the pleasure of staying at Vista Verde for a couple of days for a family reunion. We were 12 people, age 2-70, and we all enjoyed it so much. Great room for the kids to play and run around, beautiful common areas for us all to hang out together, and a beautiful deck to just sit and watch the amazing view over the Hill Country. Vista Verde is clean and well kept. We could not have asked for anything better. If you are looking for a relaxing getaway, Vista Verde is your place. We will be back!

I was with 7 girlfriends I've know since junior high. We go to a different location every June for 4 days. This place was perfect for us. It was spacious, had great views and the kitchen was huge. All of us were extremely pleased with the accomodations. The description given in the website was just as we found the place. I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in the Wimberley area.

Very well maintained property with a magnificent view of the Texas Hill Country! The charming Wimberley Square is a short 5 minute drive away, and there are several good restaurants in the area, as well. Bella Vista Olive Orchard, Wimberley Glass Works and Trattoria Lisina & Winery are a 20 minute drive or less! Property does sleep 10, but loft area with 4 twin beds is probably better suited for children, than adults! Kitchen is well equipped. Hot tub on the deck is a nice treat. Sharon was great to work with and made this a very easy rental for my group!

Don't waste your time searching...this home has all you will ever need! The home is huge with plenty of space for the entire family and some!! Open concept with breathtaking views! Deck in back allows for countless hours of relaxation and bbq'ing! In fact, with all that Wimberley and surrounding areas have to offer...we were just as happy staying at the home having a wonderful time there and never leaving! Plus-the owners are fantastic! Sharon is awesome and a joy to work with! She goes the extra mile to make sure you are well taken care of and happy! Truly a God send!! There is only one place we will ever stay when we are in that area...its called Vista Verde...you won't want to stay anywhere else!! This amazingly beautiful house with a breathtaking view of the Hill Country was the perfect winter weekend getaway for ten city mice looking to curl up by a fire with a glass of wine to tell ghost stories and play cards while a soft, rolling mist swallowed up night. The living room/loft area has floor to ceiling windows, a fireplace, and cozy furniture. Not to mention a flat screen TV and DVD Player. The kitchen is stocked with EVERYTHING you need to prepare a gourmet meal (except for the food). We're talking a variety of good quality pans, baking dishes, utensils, appliances, knives, spoons, serving ware, utensils, glasses (drinking, wine, champagne, beer, shot), mugs, bowls, spices (full spice cupboard)...I mean, you name it, they've provided it. The bathrooms are even stocked with toiletries, hair dryers and a straightening iron! The master bedroom is HUGE with one of the best beds I've ever slept in. The deck, complete with hot tub and grill, wraps around the back of the house and there is a tree swing hanging from one of the big oak trees out back. The road to the house is a little bit of a climb. It's unpaved with lots of pot holes and can have some water over it if it's been raining but do not fear, that is part of the adventure and it's totally safe. Just take a deep breath and drive slow. The view makes it totally worth it. The owners live on the property in another house and are there if you need them but not at all intrusive. Not to mention, Sharon is a total sweetheart. I can't wait to come back to this place in the summer. ps: Be sure to stop at Wimberley Pie Co and stock up on a Dutch Apple and Lemon pie.

My family and I stayed here for Christmas and the home and view are breathtaking! Plenty of room for everyone, nice kitchen, great living area... everything was amazing! Exceeded our expectations tremendously! It was too cold to spend a lot of time on the deck, so we plan on coming back sometime in warmer weather just to sit on the deck and enjoy the view... its THAT impressive! The owners are incredibly sweet and really go the extra mile to make sure you are comfortable and happy. If you are looking for a great, relaxing vacation, this is THE place! I HIGHLY recommend this home. We cannot wait to come back!

The house includes anything you could possibly need for a weekend. We had a nice time staying there. It's a little tight for 10 people - enough beds, but 2 bathrooms are a little tight fit for a full house and keep in mind if you sleep in the loft you get up with the early birds in the house! We were a little surprised upon driving up how close the owners live to the house, but we had all the privacy we needed. But it's not out in the middle of the woods as we'd hoped! Still no big deal as it turned out. I don't know if I absolutely loved the place enough to go back or recommend it, but it was great for what we needed for a weekend away and we had a very nice time. I would recommend it for a family since they are really well set up for kids. House was extremely clean and everything worked properly. Very close to everything you need in Wimberly.

Great Time at Wimberley

We spent a week at Verde House in Wimberley and could not have had a better time. Only 10 minutes from downtown where specialty shops abound, we were completely out in the country near the top of a Texas "mountain." The view off of the back deck was truly beautiful Hill Country. We enjoyed the sounds of nature as we breakfasted in the morning and lounged in the hot tub in the evening. We had complete privacy even though the owners were in a nearby home and immediately available to answer any questions or address any concerns. The view from the living area was made up of nearly floor to ceiling windows so we could enjoy the back deck view from inside. The master bedroom king bed was amazingly comfortable and the bedroom had plenty of storage for clothes. The other two bedrooms (one queen, one double) were also comfortable. The loft upstairs was large with four twin beds and lots of spare floor space. The owner provided a generous supply of towels. One of our party enjoyed hours of hiking, slept outdoors, and even swam in a pond near the bottom of the road. Table games were on shelves for guests. While there, we enjoyed tubing down the river. There was good tubing nearby, but we drove over to the Comal River and enjoyed the best river tubing ever -- on two different days! A Schlitterbaun water theme park was by the Comal as was an exciting "ride" that is a cross between bungie jumping and a swing -- esp. fun for two. While we were there we also went to a nearby lake and enjoyed skiing and tubing behind a ski boat. This was the perfect vacation for us. The rates for staying at this home are extremely reasonable. We could save money and enjoy a laid back time by preparing out own meals or go to specialty restaurants. We could kick back "at home" by relaxing and playing games or go out and enjoy outdoor activities and shopping in town. Most of all, we loved the abundance of space in the home so that -- even when there were nine of us, we never felt in the least bit crowded. This is a vacation I hope to enjoy again.

Vista Verde is a great house in a very private area. Austin is very close, and San Antonio is within an hours drive. The house was very clean and had everything we needed in it. The views off the deck are beautiful and very private. You will probably see deer on the road leading up to the house, they are very cute. This is a great place to stay when you want to be somewhat close to Austin/SanAntonio, but far enough away to get some peace and quiet.

Vista Verde is a beautiful home with breathtaking views as soon as you walk in the door. The kitchen is fully equipped with all tools needed to make delicious home-made meals, which we could not resist doing every night we were there. The location is conveniently near a grocery store, swimming area, little shops, attractions, etc. Our family had so much fun there, and are still talking about all the wonderful times we had. This is a wonderful place to visit. We didn't want to leave. The house was beautiful and very clean. We had our kids (teenagers) with us as well and they totally enjoyed it. This place is AMAZING!! My husband, 2 kids, and family friends with their 2 kids all spent the long weekend of July 8 - 12th. The land is filled with deer, fox, rabbits, toads ( the dog's fav) and I am sure many more animals, but it was July and hot.. but not too not. It had a nice breeze. The house is wonderful. It is VERY roomy... VERY kid friendly. Lots of games and toys. We do not have little ones, but if you do, there is no need to bring anything... I saw that they had a pack n play, high chair, baby swing, exersaucer, changing table.. etc. I would HIGHLY recommend this house. You can not beat the price and it is centrally located. The places to eat are also amazing! Wimberly is a great little town,

Where to start? Location - absolutely perfect! The house is up in the hills but still a very easy drive to Wimberley, San Marcos, Gruene, etc. The house - beautiful! It's wide open with lots of seating for lounging and dining. The deck is so wide and has a gorgeous view! Service - I have stayed in many rental homes and this one was stocked better than any I have ever experienced. They had coffee, tea, spices, paper towel, soap, shampoo, laundry detergent, everything! They had tons of toys for kids too - a real plus for our group. Loved every minute of our stay!

Our experience with Vista Verde was wonderful. My daughter's wedding was planned for the hill country in May. Sharon made sure that everything was taken care of with our home rental plans so that we would not have that worry. She also sent us sites and restaurants around the area to visit. The house was beautiful and clean, the scenery magnificent, and enough space so that our bridesmaids could meet and prepare before the wedding. I would absolutely recommend this property to friends and family. I am hoping to return in the fall where I can actually enjoy the view again and the sites around the hill country.

Well stocked with the necessities - towels, linens, shampoo, conditioner, soaps, spices, cooking oil, board games, and everything for coffee. We were pleasantly surprised to find all these "extras". The huge living room, dining room, and bedroom windows on the back side of the house afforded georgous views of the hill side. The top of the hill was very secluded and quiet. Everything was just like "home sweet home." The house definitely made our women's weekend enjoyable and very relaxing.

My family and I filled up this wonderful quest house with laughter, fun, and good times. The view is just breath taking, and their is lots of land to explore. The house was big enough for all of us to enjoy each others company, but at the same time allow everyone a little privacy. The deck was a perfect place for our two year old grandson and grand-dog to play with complete safety. We plan on returning to this great spot again very soon.

My college friends from six different states decided to give Texas a try for this year's reunion. We couldn't have asked for a better place to sleep, eat, talk, walk, lounge, laugh and cry. We appreciated that Vista Verde was big enough that we could each have our own bed and comfortable enough that we could really relax (the big hot tub certainly was a nice way to end the day!). I can't say enough. The house was clean and well-appointed with good sheets and plenty of dishes and nice towels (things that mom's care about). Our view off the wrap-around deck was amazing. It was an easy drive to the lovely town of Wimberley and not too far to get to and from the Austin airport. The owners were very helpful with answering questions before and during our stay. I would definitely recommend this place.

The pictures above don't do this house justice. The views are great! Great open living area...comfy furniture. The hot tub heats well and also has a nice view. Nice hiking down to the creek - about 1/2 mile each way. The house is well-supplied - had extra propane for grill when the first one ran out, laundry detergent available, lots of cooking gear and toiletries, tons of towels. Fully stocked grocery store 5 minutes away - very convenient to shopping and dining as well. We definitely recommend this vacation spot and plan on staying again! Thank you!!!

This house was great for a girl's get away. Many beds to sleep friends and/or family and the kitchen was fun preparing our meals. Loved making a fire in the fireplace! Needed more wood, but it rained and I'm sure the wood couldn't be split because it was wet! Any problems we had, Sharon and Steve were ready to help which we appreciated! My one big complaint was the sidewalk. It was too uneven to walk on especially for senior citizens! I kept telling my mother and cousin to pick their feet up so they didn't trip. The road up to the house was uneven, so an SUV would be much preferred. Other than that, the house really was wonderful and we look forward to coming back again next year or sooner!

Can't go wrong with Vista Verde. Had all the comforts of home, very detailed owners, didn't leave anything out! Loved the labeling system so you could find everything you needed in the kitchen. House was clean, furnishings nice- what I would have in my own home- and decor tasteful. Impressed with the cleanliness given that another party had just checked out only hours before our arrival. Was amazed once we arrived at the property of the view, you truly can’t appreciate it until you see in person. Home sits on top of a hill so the drive up to the property was an adventure on the winding uphill gravel road; enjoyed that aspect as it made the trip more adventurous and gave plenty of opportunity to hike up and down the gravel road and surrounding areas on the property. Proximity to the Wimberley town square was very close as well as to other surrounding towns like Gruene, San Marcos and Canyon Lake. Wimberley is beautiful with all the hills and scenic drives. Lots of recreational things to do; will definitely be back in the warmer months to explore the area creeks and rivers! Thank you for sharing your home!

Vista Verde is a lovely house with a beautiful view. We enjoyed numerous fires in the fireplace, long walks on the property with our dog, and the short drive into the town square for dining and shopping. Thank you Sharon and Steve for a wondeful relaxing weekend.

Vista Verde is a wonderful home that is well-taken care of and appointed by its courteous owners. Pretty much everything you'll need for your stay is here. The views are amazing and the private, very quiet location is rare in the Hill Country. Inside and out, the house is a great escape. We will be back soon, hopefully for longer.

By far, the BEST Wimberley home available! Extremely clean and the owners exceeded our expectations. An open, airy and comfortable home. Don't forget the Deck Spa and immense Master Bedroom. Our grandsons didn't want to leave - there's the greatest testimonial of all! Vista Verde is a very special place.

You can't beat the Texas Hill Country in the fall or spring. Vista Verde is a great place to share with family or friends. Open all the windows and enjoy the fabulous views and cool breezes. Get lost in a book or take a snooze in one of the comfy rockers on the back deck that spans the width of the house ... nicely gated so kids and pets stay corralled. Take the quick drive into town for a great meal or a little shopping. Or bring your own groceries and take advantage of the fully stocked kitchen. All in all, Vista Verde is a great retreat ... clean, comfortable, convenient and reasonably priced.

My husband, 9-month-old son, and I stayed at Vista Verde for several days in late October. The house could not be more comfortable, or the setting more beautiful. Even when it rained and we couldn't as easily go out exploring, we had a lovely time. Vista Verde had everything we needed. The views are especially enchanting. Thanks for a perfect retreat!

My wife, three daughters (19, 8, 8) and I were looking for a classic Texas hill country retreat that was located close to a town, but not too close. Boy, did we hit the jackpot with Vista Verde. Beautiful home. Very comfortable and space/views galore. Secluded, but only two miles from Wimberley. What a great little town. We had five days to enjoy the area - you'd be surprised how much you can do from this house's location. Actually, you can either sit back, do nothing and enjoy the house - or you can take advantage of the available activities in the area. Canyon Lake is only 20 minutes away - we spent two different days there boating and jet skiing. (We rented from the marina). The Lucky Sailor restaurant at the marina was a welcome spot for cool drinks, ice cream and appetizers to review the days highlights. San Antonio's Sea World is only about 75 minutes away - plan to arrive at 10:00 am when the park opens. If you're going during the summer months, consider renting a cabana - it's a great deal and includes your own private space, shade, 12 bottled waters in your own mini-fridge, lunch vouchers and Sea World blankets. A trip to San Marcos is about 20-25 minutes away - if you've got school age kids, they'll love Wonder World. They have tours down a cave that's 160 feet deep - and temperatures around 70, even when it's 100 outside. And...very hungry deers they can feed, right from the motorized cars you sit in for a very short tour through a "wildlife" area. As for the town of Wimberley - it was a winner. Check out the Wimberley Cafe for breakfast - it was great. We have tons of Mexican restaurants in Dallas, but I can honestly say that Juan Henry's in Wimberly has the best food. It's the only restaurant we went back to twice. And....the Leaning Pear cannot be missed. It has odd hours, but go for lunch (awesome) - and by all means, do NOT pass up their Triple Layer Chocolate cake. You'll be sorry if you do. For a cool treat, the Hawaiian Shaved Ice treat were the best. (By Brookshires grocery store) Steve & Sharon have a beautiful home & property. Super clean house and just very comfortable throughout. The crowning moment for our twin 8 year old girls was the last full day. Three huge bucks walked down to the side of the house Friday morning and looked in the master bedroom windows. (Floor to ceiling) My city girls were literally 18 inches away from the deer and couldn't stop talking about it. We highly recommend!

This house is the perfect get away house. Big enough for 6-10 friends to spend a few days in a small town. We were a little worried about bringing our 2 month old daughter for this mini vacation with our friends. But the house was perfect because there was baby furniture like (changing table, toys, and swings). This helped us pack less for the trip. The home was very clean, wonderfuly decorated, and very comfortable to stay in. Without a doubt, we will be returning next year.

This property is unbelieveable. The home is gorgeous, the view is spectacular and the furnishings are comfortable and nice. The owners are very accomodating to your needs. This home had the best equipped kitchen of any home that we have ever rented. It was also very convenient to all the cities in this section of the Hill Country. We loved it and would stay again and again.

Wonderful place, we all thought it was very comfortable and so well furnished with every kitchen gadget one would need. We could have used another bathroom since 8 adults had to get ready for a rehearsal dinner and a wedding, but it all worked out with some planning.
