Why the Owner Chose Shadow Mountain
I love the Coachella valley and the mountain ranges that frame it. It is incredibly interesting geographically, visually, really in all ways. An amazing area! California Route 74 (Monterrey Dr.) is very close by and and one of my favorite things to do is to take 74 up into the mountains and go hiking. It's amazing how the vegetation and terrain change with the altitude. There is also a very cute little town called Idylwild up in the mountains that is a lot of fun to spend the day in.
The Unique Benefits at this Villa
I love to take California Route 74 up the mountain to a vista that overlooks the valley at nite during the summer. The heat of the day causes these incredible convection wind currents to blow down the mountain side. It is windy, cool and beautiful!

My name is Jamie Strand. I live in Atlanta. I am retired. I have 2 wonderful daughters: Maggie, 30, who lives in Seattle and Briana, 28, who also lives in Atlanta. I also have a dog named Sidney who is 8 1/2 years old. He is very cute, built low to the ground and is a mix of lhasa, spaniel and poodle; a lahsapadoodle.

My wife and I rented Jamie's property during the latter part of April 2011 and the beginning of May. Jamie responded quickly to all our questions and we were able to figure out how to send money from Canada to the U.S. without a lot of problems. The rental property in Palm Desert is exactly as described. It's in a lovely small development of about 8 similar units only a block or so off El Paseo. The furnishings are newer and tastefully selected. We felt right at home. There was even some wine waiting for us (which of course, we replaced). We enjoyed having the freedom to cook our own meals and to sit outside on one of the three patios. The unit is centrally air conditioned and that worked well. We would definitely come back again for a longer stay. When we arrived home, Jamie returned our damage deposit very quickly and without a problem. Thanks for the beautiful week!
