  I spent the month of January, 2011 at the villa and didn't want to come home. The listing details and photos are completely accurate. If anything, I found the villa to be more impressive than the pictures depicted. Spotlessly clean and very well maintained. The owners were extremely helpful and provided tips and information that I found invaluable. The location is fairly remote, so a car is necessary. We took several side trips to visit various ruins, cenotes and nearby towns. The local population was very friendly and accommodating. I was pleasantly surprised to find so many good restaurants along the way. Yucatean food is excellent. The caretaker, Manuel, also will deliver excellent dishes to the villa at very reasonable prices. The villa is located on a very quiet and serene stretch of beach that provides almost complete privacy. If you are interested in active night life, this is not the place. You would have to drive into Progresso or Merida for nighttime activities. If you are looking for a quiet, peaceful getaway with some cultural trips on the side, I would highly recommend Villa De Brisas Marinas.

• The perfect beachfront vacation

  There were 3 couples in our party. We arrived on Dec. 26th, rented 2 cars at the Cancun airport and drove to the villa. We were amazed at the beautiful Mexican highway systems, the well marked roads and the exact directions we received from our hosts. The villa was spotlessly clean, very spacious with plenty of room for us to spread out. We became friends with the handy man who cares for the villa -- such a nice man! He cooked two delicious meals for us & took the men fishing in his Panga. The town was very close to the villa & we all enjoyed eating in the little restaurants and meeting the friendly residents. You won't be disappointed if you choose this beautiful villa in this quaint little village!

  I recently stayed at Villas De Brisas with 7 friends. Overall, our experience was amazing. The property was as described and more, very clean and spacious. We were happy to arrive at the house to find it just as the pictures had shown if not better. The house and surrounding area felt very safe. The kitchen had all amenities except an oven, and some supplies were included (such as staple items like salt, pepper, sugar, etc.) but not all. We stocked up at Costco in Merida upon our arrival to cook most of our meals. There is a coffee maker and some tea bags, but bring your own coffee and milk. In addition, the owners and property managers were very enjoyable to rent from. Manuel, the onsite local property manager, frequently checked in on us to make sure all our needs were met. He is available to cook your meals, take you fishing on his boat, and arrange for other tours of the Yucatan. What we enjoyed the most about this property was the secluded beach and privacy. This remote location was a great starting point to explore the Yucatan, visit the mayan ruins, and visit neighboring towns. I look forward to staying at this property again.

  My sister and I stayed there in 2008. I think it is one of the most relaxing places I have ever been. The Villa is absolutley beautiful and you do not have to go to far to shop for groceries. We got Manuel to cook for us and that was an added plus. What I loved most about staying in the Villa is the peacefullness and the beautiful sunsets from the villa. I wish I was there now! Nicole

  Wow! A beautiful house in a beautiful place, with a beautiful view. The beach is so inviting, clean and practically uninhabited. The whole environment is so safe, quiet, relaxing and serene. We took day trips to ruins, cenotes and wildlife reserves, as well as visiting local towns for dinner and culture. The house has great spaces for privacy or communal eating and hanging out. Everyone associated with the rental was helpful and friendly. It's really the perfect place to do nothing, or explore this part of Mexico.
