The condo is very comfortable, and quiet, and well furnished and decorated. We loved the parking location just steps from the condo, and the resort is awsome. The resort was empty, we had the place pritty much to ourselves. The resort staff was friendly and profesional. It was a great way to spend our 19th annaversary. No problems at all, the AC worked great and the patio furniture (where I like to relax and read) is very comfortable. I loved the beach and the pools so refreshing. We had an overall great time.

Perfect Ground Floor Unit!!

I go down to Rocky Point every April and October, and I usually just get any random room assigned. However, this time I decided to shop around in the owner's pool using VRBO, and I came across this great gem of a place! It was nicely furnished, and perfect for a couple. The best features are the super large patio out front, with private steps down the pool area and beach! Also, being on the ground floor allowed us to park right in front of the unit and unload\load in mere minutes! If you are not a fan of lugging your stuff down corridors and up and down elevators, this is the place to rent!! The price was well worth it, and I will definitely stay there again!

This was a lovely condo, great view, the bottom level very convenient to pools and beach. Parking was right outside the door. Nicely kept, clean, small appliances for use, washer and dryer. Nice big clean towels for showering. Comfortable bed. I would rent this property again. The furniture and accessories are nicely done, very comfortable place for a stay. Large patio for relaxing in the sun.

amazing vacation

Four of us stayed in the condo 8/19/11 to 8/21/11. It was a paradise. The weather was perfect. The condo was perfect in every way. It had everything we needed to cook and be entertained and relax. The bathrooms are wonderful and the beds perfect. The patio was wonderful best view I ever seen. I hope to go back sometime.

VERY DISAPPOINTING STAY

MY WIFE, SON, AND I STAYED AT THIS CONDO JULY 10-15 OF 2011. FROM THE FIRST EVENING, THE AIR CONDITIONER DID NOT WORK (OWNER EXPAINS AWAY THAT WE MUST HAVE LEFT THE DOORS OPEN) WE DIDN'T.IF YOU RENT ANY UNIT DIRECTLY THROUGH THE OWNERS,YOU MAY COUNT ON NO HELP FROM THE STAFF AT LAS PALOMAS.I TIPPED A MAINANECE WORKER TO "FIX" THE PROBLEM FOR ME.I REPEATED THIS PROCESS A TOTAL OF 4 TIMES.THE MAINTANCE WORKER DID NOT HAVE TO GO FAR TO MAKE HIS TEMPORARY FIXES AS THE MECHANICAL ROOM WAS RIGHT OUTSIDE THE BEDROOM WINDOW.THIS IS THE ROOM THAT HOUSES THE AIR UNITS FOR MANY CONDOS.LET ME TELL YOU THESE MACHINES ARE VERY LOUD AND WILL INHIBIT YOUR SLEEP AT NIGHT.THE SECOND MAJOR PROBLEM WITH THIS CONDO WAS THE "GAS" SMELL THAT LITERALLY WOKE US UP AT 4AM. I CALLED THE FRONT DESK BUT NOBODY EVER CAME TO HELP.I ASKED AROUND THE NEXT DAY IF THESE CONDOS HAD ANY GAS APPLIANCES AND WAS TOLD THEY DID NOT.THEREFORE,I DETERMINED THE GAS SMELL MUST BE SEWER GAS.THIS WAS A PROBLEM EVERY DAY.THESE WERE TO MAIN PROBLEMS WE HAD DURING OUR STAY.WE HAVE BEEN GUESTS AT LAS PALOMAS A TOTAL OF 8 TIMES AND THIS WAS BY FAR OUR WORST EXPERIENCE.SOME OF THE MORE "PICKY" ITEMS OF COMPLAINT WOULD BE THE SHOWER CURTAIN'S DESIGN OF MOLD ALL OVER IT, OR PERHAPS THE PATIO CEILING FAN THAT WAS SO WARPED AND LOUD WE DID NOT EVEN FEEL SAFE TO SIT UNDER IT.I DID CONTACT THE OWNERS BUT THEY DID NOT FEEL I WAS IMPORTANT ENOUGH TO EVEN RETURN MY CALLS OR EMAILS.THIS RESORT IS BEAUTIFUL AND I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE RESORT ITSELF...JUST DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND FIND A NICE,CLEAN,AND WELL MAINTAINED CONDO FOR YOU AND YOUR FAMILY.

Owner response:We are very sorry that David did not like our wonderful condo. David sent us one email about 3 weeks after his trip, requesting his money back. He mentioned two reasons at that time – A/C did not work, and there was a gas smell at night. We would not hesitate to refund David’s expenses but both claims were puzzling. First, our A/C had been working perfectly. Second, gas is not used at Las Palomas. We replied, asking for more details and if he noticed the sign on the patio door that A/C shuts down for one hour if the door stays open for longer than 5 minutes. He has not called or responded that our email until now, posting this very unjust comment. We personally check our condo at least once every two months. Last time we were there a month ago, in August. The condo was in a perfect condition – clean and sound. Although it was hot outside, the A/C worked very well and no foreign odors were present. Our friends who came with us absolutely loved the condo. Our condo is in the rental pool, and we rent it exclusively through Las Palomas. Contacting us, guests get the owner discount, but the maintenance of our condo is the same as if the rental is made directly through the resort. Las Palomas does monthly service of the sewing system in each unit. We really apologize that David was so unlucky to have the smell. Please, read all other reviews or better come and enjoy our wonderful ground-floor condo to see yourself that this review is highly unfair! Natalia and Constantin

Thank you so much. We really enjoyed staying in this condo. We have two small kids, 6 and 3, and the idea to stay on the first floor with a big patio was wonderful. The condo was clean, and had enough space for our family.

We just stayed in this condo on the last weekend. So far, we love this beautiful place and plan to go back there more. We like the ground floor location because it is easy to get to the pool or beach. The condon is really neat and beatiful decoration, full kitchen and big refrigerator. Especially, the patio is really big with a lot of chairs and table for sunset dinner.

I, my Wife and two boys 13, 14 were here for 4 nights. I give this Condo and over all facility a 10 out of 10! I read most of the reviws for the complex good and bad, I noticed that the good reviews outweight the bad so I gave it a shot. I contacted the owner directly, the owner was very friendly and helpfull gave me some tips on booking the condo. The condo itself was very clean and furniture is good. there is the expected wear on it but it's in really good shape, no stains anywhere. Make sure the doors are closed tight so the AC doesnt turn off - had to get up in the middle of the night once because the room was at 82* ! I closed the patio door tightly and was ok after that. Kitchen has everything you need, coffe maker, microwave, etc... Love the wired internet connection in Condo. Bed is nice, what really did it for us after being there the fist day was the fact that we were at ground level!!! few steps away from every thing! no long treks here. I tried to find faults as mentioned by negative reviews, after the firs and second day, I forgot all about that! I found nothing wrong with service or staff. The pools are awesome! we hit the town once a day and found that it is really calm and relaxing. the only anoying part of the "Malecon" is the guy who kept trying to sign us up for the "Mayan Palace" tour and stuff, every day! The beach itself is so clean and clear sand is sand and nothing else! nice clean sand. the water was nice and warm - late september. We arrived on a Monday and checked out Friday. First two days we were almost by ourselves! loved it. I don' tknow how it gets on the busy months. No problems at check out. We were done in less than 5 min. I will for sure try to book this unit in the future. Thanks.

Fabulous Relaxing Resort Experience

We stayed for 7 days in May and it was really wonderful. No problems at the border or anywhere else for that matter. For the first 4 days, the resort was practically empty. There were more staff than guests. Very quiet...just perfect for the relaxing week we needed. It did get busier towards the end of the week but that's to be expected. The condo being a first floor unit, you have an enormous patio and just down a short flight of stairs to the pool/beach area. Very nice for trips back to the kitchen for snacks and margaritas! We really liked that. The kitchen is well stocked with appliances, pots, pans, etc. Really no need to bring anything other than food and a few basic supplies. The bed was very comfortable. The condo was spacious for 2 people. The wireless internet was great and a must for us when we travel. The resort itself is beautiful. We dined at Citron twice for breakfast and twice for dinner. The breakfast buffet really had a nice selection. Dinners were very good. Excellent service and very reasonably priced for the quality. I would highly recommend renting this condo and staying at Las Palomas. We will definitely be back!

We rented this condo for three nights and had a wonderful experience! The resort is fabulous, with a clean beach and lots of available chairs, nice pools and good food. The condo is beautiful, with a comfortable bed, very modern appliances and furnishings and lots of movies, if you need a night in! And the best part - there's a big porch with private steps leading directly to the pools and beach. This is a huge convenience if you're spending the day on the beach and want to run back to the room. I can't recommend renting from Natalia strongly enough. It was easy, she answered all our questions and we saved a ton of money.

My family and I stayed at this unit and enjoyed it a lot. Las Palomas is an excellent family friendly resort. They have a few different pools for everybody all within walking distance of the unit. Since it's on the ground floor you can park your car 10 feet away from your door which is real convenient. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. I would recommend it in a second.

We had a great time at this condo, the patio is huge, the pool is right in front, we walked to the La Maria restaurant which takes 30 seconds from this condo:) The decor is nice and there are good movies to watch:)

This condo was beautiful! right on the ground floor which was awsome becuase we had a HUGE patio with our own BBQ and lawn chairs. We still had great views of the ocean, but could easily walk down to the pools by way of our own staircase! Inside the condo was beautifully decorated, equipped with everything we could need plus more, and spacious.. we had an awsome time, cant wait to go back!!!

We had a wonderful weekend at Las Palomas. This resort is probably the best one on Sandy Beach. The condo was very nice with a huge patio on the ground floor. It is located close to the lobby and the store which was very convenient. The only issues we had were that there was no heat in the condo. It got down to 65 degrees which I didn't mind but my wife was cold. I went to the lobby and told them about it but nobody came to look at it. Also, I was told we could use the grill on the patio but when I tried to use it, security came and told me that we could not grill on the patio, we had to use the grills supplied by the resort we were not too close. Overall, I would definitely recommend this condo.

Owner response:The A/C-heater unit is getting service this week. There will be no problems with it in future. As for the grill, we and our guests have always been using it. We will check if any policy has changed. We appreciate comments of our guests since they help us to improve our service.

I thought the condo had an great view of the beach, and pools that were directly in front of it. The patio was huge and were able to grill outside. It is convenient that it is on the bottom floor and we were able to walk directly out into the main area. The pool bar also has a great view. The inside of the place was well taken care of, and well worth the price we paid.

We rented the condo for 3 in June nights. I would have LOVED to stay longer. The pictures do not do this place justice! It's absolutely perfect. We had an absolute fabulous weekend in this condo. It is nicely furnished and everything is very clean. All the amities like the restaurant, the bar, the front-lobby and the whole pool-area are very close and can be easily reached. We will come back to this place.
