The Ridge at Blackjack is ski-in/ski-out on the Blackjack Ski area, at the top of the bunny hill and snowboard park. We are also located just minutes from Indianhead Mountain and Big Powderhorn Mountain and also close to Whitecap Mountains and The Porkies.
The Ridge at Blackjack is in the heart of Big Snow Country, receiving an average of over 200 inches of snow per year. The Ridge is a 6-plex building located on Blackjack Ski Area. Each unit has one separate bedroom which has a queen bed, its own sink area and cable TV in each bedroom. The living area has a sofa sleeper (or aerobed available) dining table and chairs, TV with cable and DVD and a full kitchen with all new appliances. This entire building has been completely remodeled with all new furnishings, kitchen appliances (including dishwasher), new pans, glassware, etc. There is a large hot-tub and sauna in the building for exclusive use by our guests.
Downhill Skiing: We are directly on Blackjack and just minutes from Indianhead and Big Powderhorn and also close to Whitecap Mountains for a large variety of ski/snowboard experiences nearby. The Porcupine Mountains and Ski the Porkies are about an hour away.
Cross Country Skiing: Cross country skiers will find some of the best x-country ski trail systems in the mid-west, all just a few miles away.
Snowmobiling: The Ridge has direct access to the snowmobile trails with over 1000 miles of trails out your back door. Just pull up and unload your sleds and be ready for some of the best snowmobiling in the country!
And it's not as far away as you think! We are located just 2 hours from Duluth, 4.5 hours from Minneapolis area, 5 hours from Milwaukee and 6.5 hours from Chicago. You may not have snow there, but chances are, we have many feet here!

The Ridge at Blackjack is owned by two brothers, Todd and Rob and their families. We enjoy the area very much and decided to purchase property together after Rob and Kristen visited and loved the area.
Why the Owner Chose Bessemer
We loved the ski-in/ski-out location and Blackjack is our favorite ski area. The snowmobiling is also wonderful and easily accessible. Rob and Kristen had recently been to Colorado for a very expensive ski vacation, and couldn't believe how reasonable this area was and better snow conditions than when they were in Colorado.
The Unique Benefits of this Apartment
The Ridge has a wonderful, large hottub in the building which everybody loves. You can ski-in and ski-out of the building, which is wonderful when you have kids and a large group of people, some of who may not ski. Everybody can be on their own schedule. And Blackjack has a wonderful apres ski bar, best in the area, so it's fun to hang out there after skiing.

Great Ski Condo in Michigan UP? - We stayed here over Christmas Break, 2008. This condo unit is much better than the pictures represent! We were pleasantly surprised! There are 6 units inside the building. Each unit has been completely redone with new appliances, new furnishings, carpet, cabinets, countertops, etc. I love the "Up North Woods" feel. Some things here that you wouldn't expect - a sink in each bedroom, lots of storage room in closets, upgraded log furnishings in most units. It was fully furnished including all utensils, pots, pans, dishes, wine glasses (thanks for the opener!), towels and extra sheets. We did not find a need for anything. The hot tub was perfect after a hard skiing day. Indianhead resort was around a 5 minute drive. We found 2 great Italian-run restaurants in town- try the Liberty Bell! We will definitely be coming back - hopefully yet this year!! Michelle

Thanks so much!! What a great place!!! It's so nice to come back from a hard day of skiing and snowboarding to relax in a villa that has all new amenities. I get to ski and snowboard in many locations. By far, your location is the best in the midwest. It's so convenient that you can ski in and out at Blackjack and that you can drive only minutes to 3 other areas when you want to mix it up. Had a wonderful time. The units were very clean and updated. The location on Blackjack was perfect. We skiied in/out of the condo with our kids for lunch and they could take a break in the middle of the day to rest. The hot tub and sauna were great to use at the end of the day. We would definitely rent these units again.
